O lugar do estudo das mídias na formação de professores numa perspectiva emancipatória

The media currently play a dual role in the physical and symbolic structure of social organization. It is through the media that companies have achieved control of their distribution and production. It is not only through the media, but mainly so, that certain world views circulate and are legitimized. Access to material and symbolic goods has become a mark of social distinction. The project of a more democratic society also involves the preparation of its citizens to be able both to deal with the media products that already circulate as well as to develop a critical perspective of media products. This research stemmed from the need to understand what place this study of the media occupies in training for teachers in early grades, given that children are already immersed in a media world from an early age. This research shows that this is a place which is under construction and despite the existing adverse conditions, emancipatory practices are being developed. The research is guided by the study of the media in teacher education from an emancipatory perspective. This perspective develops in a time that, in this case, has proved slow and fragmented, but not nonexistent. The process of teacher training is influenced by working conditions and educational policies that hinder both working with the media in school and also improving the critical understanding of the media. The research shows that training opportunities, even in these conditions, can allow for more meaningful criticism. The emancipatory perspective also includes a reflection on practices. These practices are being developed and this research sought to provide support for a proposed study of the media from this perspective

Fotografia e marketing: uma análise dos atrativos turísticos da cidade de João Pessoa-PB

Photography is a resourse of the most used and effective marketing, besides being an polysemic art, boundless sense; this allows for different readings. Nevertheless, there are those who, through the control and supervision, try to organize its meaning, such as the marketing companies. Others, such as artists, are the responsibility of the observers to give their work some understanding. Resorting a photographic iconography of the tourist attractions of the city of João Pessoa in Brazil from 2005 to 2010. This survey selected images published in catalogs supported by the Fundo de Incentivo a Cultura (FIC) and the Empresa Paraibana de Turismo (PBTUR). The central idea of this qualitative research is the assumption that, in general, tourists crave, even unconsciously, a reality of a tourist attraction motivated by photographic image conveyed the travel market, meanwhile, emphasizes that the art market, the same attraction is exposed and uncovered. Thus it is argued, by photos, such as environmental and sociocultural characteristics are commodified by these organs that have different purposes is not exclusive, given that the FIC supports art and PBTUR sponsors the tourism. Beyond the iconography used for cataloging and photographic analysis, interviews were conducted by the method of visual narratives in ordes to approximate the data with the view of tourists and photographers. In that resulted in a refletion on the current imagistic process involving the release of the tourist destinations in order to be allowed on a critical reading of photographic production and market resources to marketing and promoting the art of the city. It was observed that both the art and photography marketing acquire different symbolic values with respect to their markets promoted by the catalogs analyzed.

The relationship between mayors and patients Who use a Casa de Apoio in Natal, RN, shows us some traditional political features anda t the same time happens in na urban and modern context, regulated by a formal institution, the State. The Oestana, as is named this Casa de Apoio, offers daily that are paid by some City Halls located in the West of Rio Grande do Norte where people go away to capital from which they have medical and hospital care. This assistance includes paid services like accommodation, food, transportation, etc., as well as services that aren´t paid as information, support and hospital material, for example. When the patients access these service, they will gain a debt with a services provider (the mayor) which its eventually paid with the vote in the municipal elections. The goal is to understand the social, the political, the symbolic and mainly the life meaning of this relationship. Our research was developed by interviews with Oestanas users and regular visits to this house that showed a political bond regulated by moral and subjection, but is reconfigured by new social categories as the affection and the logical networks.

Dimensioning the fear of dermatologic diseases

The symbolic representation of a disease is related to personal perceptions and cultural background. In the present study, the authors evaluate the population knowledge and fears related to skin and other prevalent or severe diseases. This survey was based on a semi-structured form to investigate demographic aspects, dermatologic consultations, fears and knowledge of 19 dermatoses and 11 prevalent or severe diseases. We interviewed 302 people, of which 54% were women and the mean age was 39 years. Some fears of dermatoses surpass those of severe diseases. Skin cancer and total alopecia disclosed fears similar to that of myocardial infarction. - fundament, fundamentals - objective, objectives - method, methods - result, results - conclusion, conclusions

A Grounded Theory como abordagem metodológica para pesquisas qualitativas em odontologia

Este trabalho consiste na proposta de utilização, em Odontologia, de uma abordagem metodológica usada em pesquisas qualitativas, denominada Grounded Theory, quando se objetiva compreender fenômenos ou se pretende descrevê-los de acordo com o ponto de vista do sujeito. Pesquisas em saúde, utilizando abordagens qualitativas, estão sendo, cada vez mais, empregadas entre pesquisadores e, na Odontologia, esta abordagem metodológica proposta torna-se fundamental, no sentido de propiciar a exploração de assuntos ainda pouco trabalhados nesta perspectiva metodológica, possibilitando que as pesquisas adquiriram contribuições originais e, assim, ampliando nosso conhecimento. São apresentadas as etapas a serem seguidas nesta abordagem, elucidando-as com alguns exemplos de parte de entrevistas realizadas numa pesquisa que teve como objetivos: compreender a experiência do idoso com a saúde bucal ao longo da vida e desenvolver e validar um modelo teórico representativo dessa experiência.

Entre o êxito e a frustração com a sistematização da assistência de enfermagem

Pesquisa qualitativa orientada pelos referenciais teórico-metodológicos: Interacionismo Simbólico e Grounded Theory para compreender o processo planejamento-implementação da Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem (SAE), segundo dois grupos amostrais: enfermeiros e auxiliares/técnicos de enfermagem de um hospital universitário, e desenvolver uma síntese dos modelos teóricos representativos dessas experiências. A saturação teórica configurou-se mediante a análise da 24ª entrevista não diretiva de 12 enfermeiros e de 12 técnicos de enfermagem, lotados em unidades de internação. da análise emergiram dois modelos teóricos, cuja síntese originou o terceiro, intitulado Entre o êxito e a frustração com a operacionalização da SAE: recursos humanos como componente determinante para a visibilidade do enfermeiro no processo de trabalho. Este modelo desvela o déficit de recursos humanos, impulsionando o enfermeiro a realizar uma SAE ilusória, e perpetuando um processo cíclico de sofrimento, por vivenciar a invisibilidade de sua práxis no processo de trabalho.

Compreendendo a lacuna entre a prática e a evolução técnico-científica do banho no leito

Trata-se de estudo qualitativo, realizado com pacientes acamados, visando compreender a experiência da pessoa dependente da enfermagem para o banho no leito e desenvolver um modelo teórico representativo dessa experiência. Utilizou-se como referencial teórico o Interacionismo Simbólico e, como referencial metodológico, a Grounded Theory. Dos resultados emergiu o fenômeno - aprendendo a avaliar a vida e a enfermagem, ao tornar-se dependente de seus cuidados para o banho no leito. Isso possibilitou identificar a categoria central - propondo um modelo assistencial de enfermagem para o banho no leito, na perspectiva do processo avaliativo do paciente, que contrapõe a evolução técnico-científica relativa ao procedimento.

A sinalização do enfermeiro entre os papéis de familiares visitantes e acompanhante de adulto e idoso

Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, utilizando-se, como referencial teórico, o Interacionismo Simbólico e, como referencial metodológico, a Grounded Theory, visando: compreender a experiência interacional de familiares visitantes e acompanhantes de adultos e idosos hospitalizados, há mais de sete dias, em um Hospital Universitário de grande porte do Estado de São Paulo, e desenvolver um modelo teórico representativo dessa experiência. As estratégias para obtenção dos dados foram a observação e a entrevista. Dos resultados, emergiram dois fenômenos: vivendo a expectativa pela internação no Hospital Universitário e assumindo o papel de familiar visitante ou de familiar acompanhante. A compreensão da experiência nos permitiu ampliar o conhecimento, referente ao movimento que eles empreenderam na vivência denominada como movendo-se perante a sinalização do enfermeiro entre os papéis de familiar visitante e familiar acompanhante: compartilhando uma experiência de poucos prazeres em solidariedade ao adulto e ao idoso hospitalizados.

Between freedom and reclusion: Social support as a quality-of-life component in the family caregiver-dependent person binomial

This is a qualitative study which uses Grounded Theory as its methodological framework and Symbolic Interactionism as a theoretical base to understand the experience of family caregivers for Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) patients with regard to social support during their rehabilitation process at home. The components (themes and categories) of the phenomenon assuming home care and specifically the themes assuming care with support and assuming care without support were inter-related for the purpose of comparison and analysis, in order to apprehend how the interaction between them occurred, It was observed that, in addition to the recovery of the patient's autonomy, social support is one of the intervenient components in the quality of life for the family caregiver-disabled person binomial, particularly with respect to the caregiver's freedom to resume his/her life plan.

Estratégias de enfrentamento da incontinência urinária por mulheres

Este artigo é parte de uma pesquisa qualitativa mais abrangente que utilizou como referencial teórico-metodológico a Grounded Theory e o Interacionismo Simbólico, resultando no modelo teórico denominado Entre o sofrimento e a esperança: a reabilitação da incontinência urinária como componente interveniente. Com a intenção de comunicar todo o conhecimento produzido, apresenta-se parte desse modelo, referente ao processo de enfrentamento da incontinência urinária por mulheres sem perspectivas de acesso ao tratamento cirúrgico, após falha dos procedimentos conservadores. Ao inter-relacionar os componentes (categorias e subcategorias) relativos à experiência dessas mulheres, buscando compará-los e analisá-los para compreender a interação entre eles, notou-se vulnerabilidade moral e psicossocial no movimento da experiência do grupo, suscetibilizando-o a riscos à saúde e ao comprometimento da qualidade de vida. Pesquisas são necessárias para aprofundar a compreensão de experiências em que haja barreira ao tratamento cirúrgico por descrédito do profissional médico sobre sua efetividade.

A paisagem em foco: leituras fotográficas de jardim do Seridó-RN

Landscape one of the main concepts in Geography can be understood as social practice and also as a form of spatial representation. In any case, it is necessary to understand it not only by it s visual instance though its visual instance is an important part of its own identity , but also as a signifying system that produces meaning through many forms of representation. Within this framework, the photographic image is an alternative field for the building, elaboration, re-elaboration and perception of the landscape. Within this context, the main objective of this work is to produce an understanding of Jardim do Seridó s landscape through the reading of its simbolic text built through the photographs taken by José Modesto de Azevedo, a photographer well known as Zé Boinho , in the period from 1950 to 1980. The way in which a specific representation of a particular geography works within the photographic paradigm, considering the narrative construction of urban space and landscape, constitutes the framework from which the concept of landscape is built. So, this work has taken into consideration the writings of authors such as Aumont (1993), Dondis (1997), Cosgrove (1998), Duncan (2004) e Shama (1996), Castoriadis (1982), etc. Thus, this work aimed to highlight that the urban space photographs narrative built by Zé Boinho is an important alternative field for the understanding of how Jardim do Seridó s landscape became a symbolic representation for the collective imaginary of the city

Entre o fortalecimento e o declínio do vínculo voluntário-idoso dependente em um centro-dia

Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo que utiliza, como referencial teórico, o Interacionismo Simbólico e, como referencial metodológico, a Grounded Theory, visando a: compreender a experiência interacional voluntário-idoso dependente em um Centro-Dia e elaborar um modelo teórico representativo dessa experiência. A estratégia para a obtenção dos dados foi a entrevista não diretiva. Dos resultados, emergiram dois fenômenos: responsabilizando-se pela continuidade do exercício do voluntariado, junto a idosos dependentes, amparado na expectativa reparadora de ex-cuidadores familiares perante uma sociedade com consciência solidária em declínio, e assumindo o papel de voluntário. A experiência nos permitiu ampliar o conhecimento referente ao movimento que eles empreenderam na vivência denominada: entre o fortalecimento e o declínio do vínculo voluntário-idoso dependente em um centro-dia mediado por (des) motivação.

A dinâmica territorial da Assembléia de Deus do seridó do Rio Grande do Norte

That control refers to a field of power delimited by space, in other words, it refers to a territory marked and planned to reproductive intentions on the space. In relation to the religious pluralism, the Assembly of God church, in your territorial dynamics, has been standing out by the strategies of delimitation and space increase which by a constant territorial division process (1943-2010) managed to widen material and symbolic scale of its power for all cities of the Rio Grande do Norte backwoods. The Assembly of God church as the greatest Pentecostal denomination of Brazil was formed in the Rio Grande do Norte Seridó, following a ecclesiastical and governmental model divided into three ecclesiastical fields hosted in those following cities: Caicó, Currais Novos and Parelhas. Those headquarters interlink a limited number of churches through normative codes, which they express a functional dimension (bureaucratic) and in another symbolic one (charismatic) in an only field of territorial control. In this manner, the maintenance of the territorial power in the Assembly of God church is done by a charismatic-bureaucratic administration, expressed in the interdependent of material and abstract mechanisms. The believers permanent contact toward those mechanisms of institutional control revealed territorial identities which causes a feeling of property of the believer as much to the Pentecostal belief system as to community of the Assembly of God church. Considering new possibilities of articulation of the Rio Grande do Norte backwoods towards others territories more multiple, culturally, noticed cultural adjustments and revaluation at themselves. In relation to the territory of the Assembly of God church this one has exposed itself defensive faced with that cultural hybridization tendency, resisting a closer dialogue to new symbolic elements, mainly those came from the multifaceted neo-pentecostal movement. Unlike more open and flexible churches towards others significant systems, The Assembly of God church tries to reinforce the boundaries of its territory considering by the orthodoxy of its routine and customs

As representações sociais da Geografia escolar: um olhar sobre a prática didático-pedagógica

To present research had for study object to understand the social representations of the school geography for the students of the Municipal Schools Lions Prata and Dr. Francisco Brasileiro, located in the neighborhood of Catolé, and in Santa Terezinha District, respectively, in the municipal district of Campina Grande/PB. The objective of that study consisted of identifying, to understand and to analyze those apprehensions in the form as they are communicated and executed at the school and in the society. That search is due to the fact that the constant reproduction of the same ones in the current world context in that we are inserted doesn't to the understanding of the being's complexity and of the knowledge in the educational and social extent. Like this, we considered urgent their dialogues in practice didactic-pedagogic of the geography for ressignificar the geographical knowledge produced in the city. Authors as Moscovici; Jodelet; Bourdieu; Tuan; Foucault; Castoriadis; Morin among others contributed in the reflexive mediation of the imaginary symbolic emitted by the interior speeches of the 281 (two hundred and eighty and a) researched students. Those corresponded to 64,0% (sixty four) integral of the enrolled ones in the two schools of the municipal public system of teaching (INEP, 2005). A qualitative-quantitative survey was used and its answers were categorized by using the statistical description of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences SPSS Program. The freeassociation of words technique was also used in order to verify some information. The results revealed that the social representations of geography are still grounded in fragmented, content-based, positivistic and functional conceptions of man, society and the world.
