Em todo mundo, 10-20% das crianças e adolescentes passam pela experiência de algum transtorno mental. Neste processo, são implicados diferentes fatores: individuais, familiares e socioeconômicos. Apesar de indivíduos que sofreram violência familiar na infância (VFI) parecerem ter maior risco de desenvolver transtornos mentais comuns (TMC), o tema não é consensual. A boa relação entre pais e filhos, por meio das práticas educativas parentais (PEP) positivas, pode funcionar como fator de proteção contra adversidades e VFI. Entretanto, o processo de educação de crianças e adolescentes por seus pais é pouco valorizado em pesquisas de saúde. Esta Tese visa contribuir para este debate com objetivo de investigar se PEP positivas (calor e afeto), que ocorrem concomitantemente às práticas violentas, reduzem a probabilidade de ocorrência de TMC em adolescentes. Fez-se necessário continuar o processo de adaptação transcultural (ATC) do instrumento s-EMBU, que se propõe a aferir PEP. A ATC seguiu modelo universalista, sendo avaliadas primeiramente equivalências conceitual, de itens, semântica e operacional. Para tal, foram feitas revisão da literatura, discussão com especialistas, tradução e retrotradução dos itens. A verificação da equivalência de mensuração se deu pela apreciação da estrutura dimensional do instrumento, por meio de análises fatoriais confirmatórias (AFC) e exploratórias. As relações entre VFI, PEP e TMC foram pesquisadas a partir de abordagem transversal, sendo a população de estudo constituída por 487 alunos de seis escolas da região metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro e participantes do Estudo Longitudinal de Avaliação Nutricional de Adolescentes (ELANA). Para análise de dados, optou-se por regressão linear multivariada, testando-se modificação de efeito das PEP no desenvolvimento de TMC em adolescentes expostos à VFI. Em relação ao s-EMBU, encontraram-se incongruências referentes aos itens da dimensão Superproteção, que culminaram em índices de ajuste de modelo apenas razoáveis na AFC. Todavia, itens que abarcam a dimensão Calor Emocional mapearam de forma adequada o construto subjacente. Todos os tipos de VFI abuso físico ou emocional e negligência física ou emocional mostraram-se importantes fatores de risco para presença de TMC em adolescentes, mesmo após ajuste por variáveis socioeconômicas, sociodemográficas e grau de calor emocional materno ou paterno. O efeito nocivo da negligência física na saúde mental de adolescentes foi maior para aqueles que relataram baixo grau de calor emocional, tanto materno quanto paterno. Esta versão do s-EMBU é recomendada para uso em adolescentes brasileiros, especialmente em relação à dimensão Calor Emocional. Contudo, ajustes ainda são necessários para itens componentes das outras dimensões. Os resultados evidenciam o efeito deletério dos maus tratos na infância na saúde mental de adolescentes, corroborando achados relatados na literatura. Embora se tenha encontrado efeito modificador das PEP positivas apenas nos casos de negligência física, estes resultados sugerem que estas práticas podem funcionar como fatores atenuadores do efeito da VFI no desenvolvimento dos TMC em adolescentes. Mesmo que sejam necessários mais estudos para elucidar o papel da relação entre pais e filhos na proteção à saúde mental, programas de investigação que abrangem efeitos da violência familiar na saúde de adolescentes não devem deixar de considerar as PEP no processo.

The impact response of laminated composites consisting of alternate layers of AI ahoy foam and Al2O3 was studied experimentally in low and intermediate velocity regimes. Low velocity impacts (1.2-2.8 m s(-1)) were conducted using an instrumented falling weight apparatus and were compared with static indentation tests (0.2 x 10(-4) m s(-1)). Intermediate velocity impacts were carried out by means of both Hopkinson bar (60 m s(-1)) and gas gun (200 m s(-1)) tests, Post-impact damage was assessed using X-ray radiography and microscopy, It was found that there is good correlation between low velocity impact and quasi-static responses. In both cases, penetration of the layered targets resulted in the formation of a distinctive plug. Increasing impact velocity (intermediate velocity range) snitched the penetration mode from plugging to fragmentation, giving rise to an increase in the absorbed energy. In this range, impacts led to localisation of damage in the region under the projectile, Furthermore, a comparison has been made between the penetration response of foam laminates and dense metal laminates of equivalent areal density. Preliminary results suggest that the dense metal laminates are superseded by the foam laminates on an energy absorption basis.

Este estudo objetiva apresentar contribuições para o aprofundamento do debate acerca da relação entre questão social e mídia no Brasil, articulando esta temática à discussão sobre as particularidades da formação social brasileira, com destaque para o conceito de revolução passiva no pensamento de Antonio Gramsci. A aproximação a este complexo campo de reflexão se dará, em seus aspectos gerais, pela articulação entre três grandes debates teóricos: a) o concernente à questão social, sobretudo a discussão realizada no interior do Serviço Social, pelo estudo de suas expressões e determinações fundantes, seu desenvolvimento histórico, as particularidades que assume na formação social brasileira e em tempos de hegemonia neoliberal; b) o denso debate sobre as particularidades do desenvolvimento histórico da formação social brasileira, tendo como fio condutor a noção de revolução burguesa, tal como desenvolvida por Florestan Fernandes. O diálogo com autores que trataram das especificidades do desenvolvimento capitalista e da instauração da ordem burguesa no Brasil, aporta não apenas elementos para se pensar na questão social no País, mas também, compreender a conexão entre a trajetória histórica da sociedade brasileira que, a nosso ver, é marcada por momentos de transição pelo alto (o que Gramsci chamou de revolução passiva) e a relevância e influência que a chamada grande mídia tem na sociedade brasileira atual; c) o debate teórico entorno do conceito de hegemonia no pensamento de Gramsci, no sentido de compreender a função e o lugar da grande mídia na luta de classes, articulando o conceito de hegemonia compreendido como a capacidade de uma classe formar e conservar seu poder através da direção intelectual e moral às noções de sociedade civil, senso comum, aparelhos privados de hegemonia, cultura, entre outros. Trata-se de uma análise de caráter fundamentalmente teórico-interpretativo, que não pode prescindir, assim sendo, de uma análise que, partindo do presente, se aproxime de processos históricos elementares para pensar o contexto atual, sobre o qual incide nossa proposta de estudo. Na condição de aparelho privado de hegemonia, a mídia burguesa cumpre a função de fabricar e difundir consensos que formam o senso comum e contribuem para a reprodução da passivização das classes subalternas. No Brasil, essa questão assume dimensão diferenciada, em virtude das recorrentes soluções pelo alto, típicas de uma revolução burguesa experimentada como revolução sem revolução, que marcaram a trajetória histórica do país. Nesse processo, o Estado assume protagonismo para preservar a hegemonia das classes dominantes, excluindo a massa do povo de exercer influência na direção da vida política e social através da repressão direta e da coerção e através da construção de estratégias destinadas à obtenção do consenso das classes subalternas. Com a hegemonia neoliberal, efetiva-se um aprofundamento da subordinação e passivização destas classes, por um novo processo de fragilização de seus aparelhos de disputa por hegemonia, ao mesmo tempo que grandes conglomerados midiáticos se formam e se fortalecem, interferindo em todas as esferas da vida social e participando na construção de uma direção hegemônica da sociedade que seja favorável à preservação da ordem.
