Although maritime regions support a large portion of the world’s human population, their value as habitat for other species is overlooked. Urban structures that are built in the marine environment are not designed or managed for the habitat they provide, and are built without considering the communities of marine organisms that could colonize them (Clynick et al., 2008). However, the urban waterfront may be capable of supporting a significant proportion of regional aquatic biodiversity (Duffy-Anderson et al., 2003). While urban shorelines will never return to their original condition, some scientists think that the habitat quality of urban waterfronts could be significantly improved through further research and some design modifications, and that many opportunities exist to make these modifications (Russel et al., 1983, Goff, 2008). Habitat enhancing marine structures (or HEMS) are a potentially promising approach to address the impact of cities on marine organisms including habitat fragmentation and degradation. HEMS are a type of habitat improvement project that are ecologically engineered to improve the habitat quality of urban marine structures such as bulkheads and docks for marine organisms. More specifically, HEMS attempt to improve or enhance the physical habitat that organisms depend on for survival in the inter- and sub-tidal waterfronts of densely populated areas. HEMS projects are targeted at areas where human-made structures cannot be significantly altered or removed. While these techniques can be used in suburban or rural areas restoration or removal is preferred in these settings, and HEMS are resorted to only if removal of the human-made structure is not an option. Recent research supports the use of HEMS projects. Researchers have examined the communities found on urban structures including docks, bulkheads, and breakwaters. Complete community shifts have been observed where the natural shoreline was sandy, silty, or muddy. There is also evidence of declines in community composition, ecosystem functioning, and increases in non-native species abundances in assemblages on urban marine structures. Researchers have identified two key differences between these substrates including the slope (seawalls are vertical; rocky shores contain multiple slopes) and microhabitat availability (seawalls have very little; rocky shores contain many different types). In response, researchers have suggested designing and building seawalls with gentler slopes or a combination of horizontal and vertical surfaces. [ES] La medida y representaci??n del un elemento patrimonial debe responder a unas necesidades. Ser?? dif??cil plantear un proceso de documentaci??n geom??trica encaminado exclusivamente a conservar la informaci??n sobre su forma y dimensiones, si no son determinadas previamente las caracter??sticas de la informaci??n que se requiere conservar: su cantidad, c??mo se almacenar??, se gestionar??, se reproducir?? y difundir??. Se considera al Proyecto de Documentaci??n Geom??trica como el eje vertebrador de la intervenci??n, entendiendo por tal, el documento que recoge las necesidades y circunstancias que rodean al elemento patrimonial, propone resultados para satisfacerlas, plantea alternativas tecnol??gicas junto a la evaluaci??n de los recursos temporales, instrumentales y econ??micos de cada una de las opciones; y en definitiva supone el dise??o de la intervenci??n para la medida y la representaci??n. En este art??culo se analizan las circunstancias que justifican la redacci??n del proyecto y la transcendencia de la generaci??n de este documento en el proceso de la documentaci??n geom??trica.

The paper traces the different management practices adopted for Nigerian inland water bodies from the Colonial era to independence. It observes that the full potentials of these waters have never been realized over the years due to the absence of an effective management. The replacement of the traditional fisheries management by the centralized top-down approach by government after independence has not helped matters. Lately, the cooperative/community-based management approach has taken the centre stage worldwide. This has been identified to offer the most viable and equitable option towards the attainment of an optimum utilization of the fisheries resource. The entire community sensing security of tenure and enjoying some of the benefits from access control will actively take responsibility and enforcement. The paper drew experiences from some water bodies in Bangladesh, Philippines, Benin Republic and Malawi showing sound management strategy that, if adopted for our small and medium size reservoirs and other water bodies, would help optimize on an sustainable manner the benefits from those water bodies

Aniztasun funtzionala duten pertsonen hezkuntzaren inguruko GALa da hau. Hezkuntzak arlo honetan izan duen ibilbidea ezagutu ostean, EAE eta Irlandako hezkuntza sistemak aztertzen dituena. Ikerketa lana da hau eta gaiaren inguruko azterketa bibliografiko sakona izateaz gain bi herrialdeetan datu bilketa egin izan da, bi herrialdeetako irakasleak betetako galdetegien bitartez. Tresna hauen helburua batzuen zein besteen jarrerak ezagutzea eta konparatzea zen, hauen garrantziaz jabetuz. Ikerketa lanaren ostean bi herrialdeek heziketa berezia ulertzeko bi modu desberdin dituztela azaleratzen da: EAEn integraziotik inklusiora bidean gauden bitartean, Irlandan kontraesan ugari daude; izan ere, inklusioa bultzatu nahi da, baina eskola bereziak mantenduz. Irlandan badute zer aldatu, baina bertan ere badugu. Inklusioa da jarraitu beharreko bidea; ez da erraza izango, baina aniztasun funtzionala duten haurrekin elkar bizitzea aukera bat da eta guztiok izan gaitezke irabazle.

Euskara: Lan honek euskal autore zaharrak Lehen Hezkuntzako ikasleei hurbiltzea du helburu. Ezinbestekoa da neska-mutilek ikasgeletan klasikoen ondarea ezagutzeko aukera izatea, euskal autore zaharren irakaskuntza-ikaskuntza prozesua suspertzeko. Izan ere, idazle klasikoak oinarrizko hezkuntzan duten tokia ez da handia izan, hauek lantzeak zailtasunak dakartzalako. Beraz, zailtasun horiek aztertuta eta lekuko idazle ezberdinen lan hautatuen egokitze-lana aintzat hartuz, proiektu berritzaile baten proposamena eskaini nahi da, euskarazko literatura zaharra irakurtzeko eta lantzeko zaletasuna sustatzeko bidea erakusteko asmoz. Horrela izanik, ikasleek euren neurrira eta interesetara moldatutako egitasmoa eskura izango dute, egungo hezkuntza-sisteman beharrezkoak diren oinarrizko gaitasunak barneratuz, beti ere gaiarekiko motibazioa eta jakin-mina aintzat hartuta.
