Comunicação pública e os interesses do cidadão: uma perspectiva de relações públicas

This Project aims to study and verify the importance of effective communication in public organizations, considering current factors such as globalization and new trends in the behavior of the individuals. The issue is relevant because of the need to understand the relationships between the public institution and the various interest groups and research development of new practices of Public Relations as regards their influence on the municipal level. In this context, we present the concept of city, communication, citizenship and participation, focusing on the integration of these elements in the concept of Public Communication. Humanização na assistência odontológica de pessoas com deficiência, através do projeto Cão Cidadão-Unesp

The Araçatuba School of Dentistry along with the Veterinary Medical Course, both from UNESP, develop the Extension Project called “Cão Cidadão UNESP” (Unesp Citizen Dog), which is accomplished in some assistance societies, including the Dental Assistance Center to Persons with Disabilities (“Centro de Assistência Odontológica à Pessoa com Deficiência” - CAOE-UNESP). This project develops a multidisciplinary work involving professionals and students from health sciences. The project aims at developing activities to relieve stress, fear and anxiety of patients with disabilities in the moment that precedes the dental treatment. The team performs procedures such as walking with the dogs and patients, toothbrushing the dogs so the patients can see it, in order to learn and motivate themselves, dressing the dogs with some accessories such as white clothes, mask and cap, to associate with image of the dentist, making this relationship more pleasant and welcoming. It is evidenced, through reports of professionals, that the patients become calmer and more collaborative with the dentists, distracting them from the treatment focus and creating a positive bond. It should be noted that this experience has contributed to motivate the professionals to introduce new techniques for dental approach, such as Animal Assisted Therapy. It also shows that animals can be very helpful in treating people with disabilities, because they offer a lot of love, companionship and provide moments of joy and happiness to the participants.

Comunicação pública e relações públicas: sintonia a favor do cidadão

O presente artigo pretende analisar a Comunicação Pública como uma vertente de comunicação focada na construção da cidadania, demarcando-se na contemporaneidade como uma iniciativa à participação do cidadão nos meios de comunicação. Destacamos, especialmente, o rádio por ser um meio de comunicação de amplo alcance viabilizando espaços de diálogo com o ouvinte, fomentando a reflexão a respeito de conflitos e divergências públicas, ou seja, como um agente gerador de cidadania. Nessa perspectiva faz-se uma conexão entre as teorias de Comunicação Pública em complemento ás teorias e habilidades de Relações Públicas, enfocando a atuação deste profissional comprometido com as questões sociais e como propulsor da cidadania.

O storify e o jornalismo cidadão na internet

This study aims to understand the democratic and social potential of online citizen journalism, and how Storify can be use as a tool to achieve this goal. The focus is to analyse the use of this tool by media companies to verify if there are plurality of themes, or if there are gatekeeping of the information - such as occur in traditional media. The research will use the content analyse methodology to observe how three media companies use the website Storify: O Estado de São Paulo, Zero Hora and Veja. The results are based on the most frequent themes, which were divided into seven categories: police; politics; city; sport; technology; science and media. With this analyse we were able to concluded that, according to the theme, O Estado de Sao Paulo had, between the media companies analysed, the most plural approach, after it is Zero Hora, and lastly Veja.
