This research work deals with the compilation of a dictionary on clothing terminology intended to be used as a pedagogic tool as part of the teaching and learning process in the Textile Engineering Course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The main terms were selected and assessed by a team of textile teachers and students with the objective to be structured as a conceptual body of information on the following sub-areas of clothing terminology: materials (fabrics and trimmings) and products (garments). This research comprises three main steps: (a) characterization and understanding of the technical vocabulary in the clothing area as well as the identification of a pedagogic demand for a dictionary on clothing terminology, clearly expressed by the textile lecturers and students involved in the assessment of the need and validation of this project development; (b) a proposal for a specific methodology for the compilation of the dictionary which could help the communication process in the lecturing of clothing terminology and (c) based on the terminological principles and the technique of focal groups the dictionary was assessed. The technique of focal groups was used in the first step. In the second step the technique used was that of the terminological methodology adapted to the teaching approach in the Textile Course. In the third step the technique of focal groups was again utilized. It was observed that the main concern of lecturers and students is the lack of a standardized vocabulary, which renders difficult the communication process in both the teaching and learning activities as well as the professional ones in the textile industries. Various aspects, which can overlap, cause this lack of standardization. The main ones pointed out by the study team in the focal groups are: usage of regional words or expressions, usage of foreign words or expressions, analogies, and the low level of formal education, mainly among the industry workers. Another aspect to be considered is the lack of textile literature written in the Portuguese language of Brazil. This evidence shows the importance of a clothing terminology dictionary which will benefit both the education and professional activties in this field of knowledge. This dictionary will also give a substantial contribution to terminological standardization in our research field. With view to fulfill this demand, a dictionary of clothing terminology was compiled with 760 main entries, according to the modern practice in terminology with the necessary modifications concerning our needs. The result of the dictionary assessment was very assertive regarding its structure, contents and possible use in various contexts. The team work emphasized their contribution to the standardization process of the terms that proved to be one of the most important and difficult aspects of this researh work. The significance of this structured terminological dictionary was confirmed by the focal group participants relating to its use for teaching and learning activities, as a reference book, as a source of technical information and also as a tool for pedagogic studies and planning, as well as a significant collaboration to the pedagogic practices in the textile engineering course at University or any other educational institution. Besides, this dictionary can also be used to supply information within the textile field. We are aware that the present work will not exhaust the objectives of this research due to its limitations in opposition to the vast complexity demanded by the compilation of a complete work including all the areas and sub-areas of textile engineering. However, it is an important source for dissemination of concepts on the field of clothing terminology and a tool to effective standardization of the terms used in this subject field

O presente trabalho objetiva investigar os modos de subjetivação colocados em funcionamento no currículo do Programa de Capacitação de Multiplicadores/as em Gênero e Políticas Públicas proposto pela Federação de Órgãos para Assistência Sócio-Educacional (FASE). Adotando como referencial teórico os estudos do campo do currículo e das relações de gênero produzidos por autores como Tomaz Tadeu da Silva, Alfredo Veiga-Neto, Jorge Larrosa, Guacira Louro e Judith Butler, inspirados em grande medida na obra de Michel Foucault, a noção de currículo é assumida como prática discursiva atravessada por relações de poder-saber e envolvida em processos de subjetivação que intencionam transformar indivíduos em sujeitos privilegiando a dimensão das relações de gênero. A análise de modos de subjetivação em funcionamento no currículo do Programa de Capacitação é efetuada tendo como fonte os documentos que subsidiam suas práticas pedagógicas. A partir de uma perspectiva foucaultiana estes documentos têm seus enunciados e seus campos discursivos correlativos descritos, considerando e problematizando as relações de saber-poder em que se inscrevem. Como resultado, evidencia-se o caráter produtivo do currículo investigado ao colocar em funcionamento modos de subjetivação como investimento de estratégias de governo que sinalizam como devem ser as relações de gênero e em que sentido os indivíduos precisam transformar-se para que estas relações sejam alcançadas.

The rapid expansion of the mineral and metal mining sector in the past decade was accompanied by an increase in social conflicts. What are the impacts of large-scale mining operations? What are the strategies used by transnational corporations to gain access to underground resources and legitimize their activities? And how do local and indigenous communities confronted with mining react to, negotiate with and resist these activities? This book covers 13 case studies of copper, gold, uranium and other mining operations, situated in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Australia and Switzerland. With an extensive introduction to the subject and a systematic comparison across mining operations in different phases of development and social contexts, it serves as a primer and reference book for activists, students and researchers alike.

The thesis represents the first part of a reference book to the Tertiary flora of Saxony. All taxa based on leaves of angiosperms and on Ginkgo are included in this compendium. After an overview about the geological state of knowledge on the Tertiary in Saxony, phytostratigraphic concepts are introduced and a historical survey on the Tertiary paleobotanical research in Saxony is given. All plant macrofossils published from Saxonian Tertiary until end of 2013 and their sites of discovery (primary data) were recorded. This data were supplemented by additional attributes and unified through project-based M.Sc. theses. Subsequently, taxa of fossil leaves were selected, their data evaluated and brought to a consistent state of research. Data sheets for 187 out of 235 examined taxa were established for a determination atlas. Macro- and micromorphological attributes are described in this atlas and information are given about the systematic, synonymy, palaeoecology and spatial and temporal distribution. The describing part is illustrated by images and instructive drawings. The documented data were surveyed and discussed related to their quality within the literature in the result part. A bibliography of the extensive palaeobotanical literature for plant fossils of Saxony completes the work. The taxon and locality related data are implemented into an open source geographical information system (GIS) in order to visualize and to manage them effectively. For the first time, the results of this thesis implemented in the GIS allow the generation of distribution maps for the taxa of leaves of Tertiary angiospermes and Ginkgo in Saxony. Furthermore it enables to query topographical, geological and paleobotanical information about the fossil sites. A determination key was developed for the fossil material that allows a rough determination of the findings in the field. The compendium will be available for free use in a printed as well as in a digital version.

El Libro blanco, título de grado en traducción e interpretación, publicado en 2004 por la ANECA, revela que "la especialización en traducción literaria es minoritaria". Así que ¿qué se puede hacer para formar adecuada y eficazmente a los estudiantes que quieren dedicarse a esta parcela tan particular? Para responder a tal cuestión, en primer lugar, estudiamos el proceso de la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la traducción en la era de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación. A continuación, describimos el entorno de trabajo que utilizamos para adaptarnos tanto al EEES como a las necesidades del mercado. Por último, damos a conocer una serie de actuaciones llevadas a cabo en el marco de un máster de traducción literaria.
