Organizational and financial transparency in the website of the foundations: an empirical study for Spain

Transparency in nonprofit sector and foundations, as an element to enhance the confidence of stakeholders in the organization, is a fact shown by several studies in recent decades. Transparency can be considered in various fields and through different channels. In our study we focused on the analysis of the organizational and economic transparency of foundations, shown through the voluntary information on their Website. We review the theoretical previous studies published to put to the foundations within the framework of the social economy. This theoretical framework has focused on accountability that make foundations in relation to its social function and its management, especially since the most recent focus of information transparency across the Website.In this theoretical framework was made an index to quantify the voluntary information which is shown on its website. This index has been developed ad hoc for this study and applied to a group of large corporate foundations.With the application of these data are obtained two kind of results, to a descriptive level and to a inferential level.We analyzed the statistical correlation between economic transparency and organizational transparency offered in the Website through quantified variables by a multiple linear regression. This empirical analysis allows us to draw conclusions about the level of transparency offered by these organizations in relation to their organizational and financial information, as well as explain the relation between them.

Use and access to ICT in students of public secondary schools in Chihuahua City, Mexico: inclusion in teaching and digital literacy

This paper addresses the issue of the digital divide in students of public secondary schools at Chihuahua City, Mexico. It seeks to identify potential inequality of opportunities with regards to subjects’ access to information, knowledge and education through the ICT (internet, mobile telephony, broadband and television). The study takes three schools as investigative stage, using the survey as a data collection instrument, identifying patterns of behavior regarding: general knowledge of them, access to computer equipment and internet, and characterization of their use. Other aspects of analysis are the identification of the educational level of parents and access to technology resources available for academic and non-academic purposes in various application areas (home, school and social environment). The proposal concludes, that it is through the recollection of alternatives suggested by the teachers themselves to incorporate ICT for teaching purposes in a systematic and planned fashion, whose greatest reflection manifests in better digital literacy indicators.

Art as an educative and social tool

Since remote times, certain sectors of society have been exposed to inequality and vulnerability, where adequate intervention processes have become conspicuous because of their absence. Nowadays, current societies have the responsibility of contributing, based on their experience and knowledge, with more efficient policies and programs that improve the life quality of the most disadvantaged. It is here where art and its different tools play a very important role, not only on a physical level, but also as an education tool that allows the development of emotional, mental and communicative skills. The aim of this paper is to make clear the potential of art as an instrument of social and educational intervention. It starts by showing worldwide-collected experience related to education and arts, and then, it acquaints the reader with two parallel intervention projects that worked with youths under social vulnerability conditions. These interventions were developed based on a qualitative research (Grounded theory), using as methodology “The Artistic Mediation” with emphasis on body language. This methodology helped researchers to get close to the participants and to know their experiences and emotions. At the same time, it was possible to evidence the positive effects of educative interventions through art. These workshops were based on an artistic methodology especially focused on body language. Data in this work is qualitative, and as such, it permits a special approach to the personal and emotional experiences of the participants; clearly showing the positive effects of the referenced practice on them.

Reflexive learning in pre-service training of primary school teachers: from experience to assimilation of contents

This article presents an educational experiment carried out in the Primary School Teaching Degree at the University of Barcelona. Specifically, the article analyses the application of the “Work Corners” approach in a core subject. In a three-year action research process, trainers put into practice an innovation which enabled them to boost cooperative work and reflexive learning among trainees. Firstly, the theoretical model underpinning the project and guiding many of the actions carried out by the training team is presented. After providing detailed information on the practical development of the experiment, the data-gathering process and its results are shown. Various information-gathering strategies were used in assessing the project, such as a questionnaire, participant observation, and teachers’ diaries. The results demonstrate, amongst other things, that “work corners” offer viable and appropriate educational conditions for the articulation of theoretical and practical knowledge, for building professional knowledge, and therefore, the beginnings of a reflexive teaching practice.

Social Networks Usage Profile: Descriptive study with students in the University of Murcia

Telematic tools are very important for our lives in the present era and moreover this idea is made more evident if we analyse young people behaviours. However, it seems that the possibilities that these tools allow subjects from a professional point of view, beyond the purely playful aspects, are still not fully exploited both by subjects, neither by educational institutions where they learn. Our work studies the uses of social media in the context of university students. In order to this we have designed a research based on quantitative methodology with a survey. We have applied a questionnaire to students in the University of Murcia. The questionnaire was answered by 487 students in the first half of 2014. The survey results confirm our hypothesis that social networks are part of the basic and habitual tools of communication between the youth of our university and eminently used for leisure purposes, and that the tools used for more academic activities are those allowing greater control of privacy.

The notion of space in the artistic language of Alfredo Jaar

Conceptual art and communicator role has influenced the work of Chilean architect Alfredo Jaar, which has been proposed report, with other codes [verbal and nonverbal], global events influencing contemporary society. His early training as an architect has driven innovation in the design of artistic space , using the message to convey to the viewer the reason for his work for more than three decades, highlights the artistic composition with various material resources whose purpose lies in conceptualizing various topics relevant in considering the role of artistic communication. Jaar’s style is the sum of his own life experience in relation to the contradictions of the world today, which is exposed and from the perspective of postmodernism from the exploitation of the notion of space as an open stage for visual and expressiveness beyond national borders, societies and cultures of the world.

Software libre y libre acceso a la información : ¿hacia un ciberespacio público?

En el contexto del libre acceso a la información y la democratización del conocimiento, el presente artículo se enfoca en describir el estado actual de algunas propuestas relacionadas con la cooperación y el intercambio mundial de información surgidas a partir del siglo XX, pero sobre todo en el movimiento del software libre, fenómeno que se perfila como un modelo de desarrollo informacional acorde con los movimientos culturales de nuestros días y cuyos principios –se augura– pueden llegar a ser la base para la creación de un ciberespacio público, apoyado en servicios de información a bajo costo y repositorios digitales de alcance mundial.

Actividades en Educación Permanente para mejorar la calidad de vida.

Se pretende describir la experiencia educativa llevada a cabo con personas mayores con una edad media de unos 70 años mediante un conjunto variado de actividades entroncadas en diferentes bloques. Se realiza en el CEA Purullena en Purullena, Granada. Los objetivos son: mejora de las condiciones físicas; mantenimiento y mejora de la motricidad manual; mejora de las condiciones mentales; ocio y tiempo libre; dinamización e integración. Está dirigido al profesorado.

De la tierra a la sartén.

Se presenta experiencia educativa que propone la creación de un huerto escolar en la etapa de Educación Infantil. Se realiza en el EEI El Generalife en Granada. Los objetivos son: experimentar el acto de sembrar y plantar en el huerto; conocer el proceso de crecimiento de las plantas; descubrir por medio de los sentidos la diversidad de las hortalizas; identificar y diferenciar las partes comestibles de las diversas plantas; conocer los instrumentos y metodología necesaria para plantar; implicar al alumnado en el mantenimiento del huerto; fomentar actitudes de respeto y cuidado hacia el medio natural; dar uso a los espacios infrautilizados en el patio; valorar el trabajo igualitario; fomentar la colaboración en las actividades domésticas; valorar el resultado como fruto de un esfuerzo común; fomentar el consumo de alimentos saludables; valorar la importancia del agua para el desarrollo de la vida y reforzar actitudes de ahorro.

Se presenta experiencia educativa que propone la elaboraci??n de materiales relacionados con el ciclo formativo de grado superior sobre higiene bucodental. Se realiza en el IES Aynadamar en Granada. Los objetivos son: colaborar en la realizaci??n de estudios de salud comunitaria y realizar programas de prevenci??n bucodental. El proceso consta de varias fases: b??squeda de informaci??n y elaboraci??n de materiales; estudio de programas inform??ticos; elaboraci??n de un cuestionario para una encuesta sobre salud mental; estudio de la salud bucodental del alumnado del centro.

Se presenta experiencia educativa que propone la eliminaci??n de los estereotipos sexistas desde las primeras etapas educativas. Se realiza en el CEIP Victoria en Loja, Granada. Los objetivos son: que el alumnado descubra y conozca las estructuras que conforman su boca; reconocer la situaci??n de los dientes en nuestra boca y saber cu??les son sus funciones; comprender la trascendencia que tiene el trato que se le de a la dentici??n definitiva; explicar al ni??o la importancia que para sus dientes tiene la dieta y que un consumo exagerado de dulces llevar?? a la aparici??n de caries; conocer algunas posibles enfermedades de nuestros dientes y enc??as; convertir la higiene oral diaria en una rutina de su higiene general, implicando a sus familias; valorar la revisi??n m??dica para prevenir posibles enfermedades de la boca.
