Cristo si è fermato a Eboli, de Carlo Levi e Francesco Rosi: memórias da cor de olhos tristes

As a hybrid genre, the narrative of Carlo Levi is an objective account and subjective elaboration that are equalized in a literary form. Written between 1943 and 1944, the book evokes with an atmosphere of memoir the period of 1935 and 1936, the writer’s exile. The film based on the narration fragmentizes the daily life of the problematic region and highlights the truth aimed by the discourses composed in times of crises, reinforced by action and expression without provincialism and also without a compensating aristocratic pose. It is possible to see some incapacity of the film by Rosi, natural to a certain degree, to translate the synthesis of literary treatment and socio-historical reflection. For this reason it is necessary to read the adaptation as an attitude about the literary matter and the result of historical experience. The memoir character relies on the artifice that makes good use of the book’s opening, the author’s short monologue, its narrative frame. The chapter “Asylum for the homeless” is crucial to the construction of Siegfried Kracauer´s Die Angestellten (The salaried masses) In it, the “canera eye” of the inquisitive observer reveals the cultural-ideological mechanisms responsable for the constructions of “false consciouness” of the emergent salaried class during the twilight of the Weimar Republic – the fundation of Kracauer´s interpretation of the methods of totalitarian propaganda and mass manipulation, wich he developed in the exile after 1933.

The objective of this work is to analyze the literary construction of Camões in the work Que farei com este livro?, by José Saramago. By difficulty in publishing his magnum opus, Os Lusíadas, Camões traverses the various Portuguese authorities in order to be able to give concreteness to his work years in exile. Using historical aspects and gaps on the biography of Camões, Saramago creates a work that shows the inertia that reigned in Portugal after the great conquests. Work of counterpoint between past and present, Que farei com este livro? represents an important reflection on the role of the writer and their challenges in times of decadence.

Espaços de exclusão e subjetividades do exílio: sobre Angu, de sangue, de Marcelino Freire

The paper aims to examine the work of Marcelino Freire, Angu de sangue (2000), from a poetic of identity with the black narratives and experiences of characters who participate in a space of exclusion, violence and social exile. Overall, the book deals with death and violence so raw and without idealizations. The characters struggle to survive in a cruel formo f life and denote the suffering and despair of those marked by peripheral situation. By proposing an analysis of tales of Angu de sangue, the work presented here reflects on a poetics of exclusion that runs the seventeen tales that make up the work in dialogue with images and internal references (through the images that illustrate the stories), and on the other hand, with pictures and references to the urban context of the excluded, represented on the pages of newspapers, magazines and television news.

The purpose of this article is to discuss the representations of intellectual in the epistolary production of Jorge de Sena (1919‐1978), more specifically in correspondence with Virgil Ferreira (1916‐1997), which occurred between the years 1950 to 1975. Some topics, such as the condition of intellectual dictatorship, the position of the writer and his relations with the aesthetics of Neo‐Realism and the condition of exile, are important topics that make up most of the concerns of both writers.

Mechanochemical synthesis of CaTiO3 from CaCO3 - TiO2 mixture

The synthesis of calcium titanate, CaTiO3, was performed by mechanical activation and thermal treatment. Milling for up to 360 minutes in a planetary ball mill mechanically activated an equimolar mixture of CaCO 3 and TiO2 powders. A small amount of mechanically activated mixtures was pressed into briquettes and calcined at 850°C for two hours. The effect of mechanical activation on the solid-state reaction was studied using X-ray powder diffraction and differential thermal analysis. The change of morphology and size of powder particles due to milling, were determined by SEM, while BET analysis was used to determine the specific surface area of the powder. The sintering process was followed by a dilatometer during thermal treatment up to 1300°C. The main conclusion of the analysis of conducted investigations is that CaTiO3 ceramics can be obtained from an activated mixture at a much lower temperature than reported in the literature owing to acceleration of the chemical reaction and sintering.

This article seeks to contribute to the debate on the importance of cultural collective producers of anti-capitalist content, ownership of digital ecology by subaltern segments, the creation of the opposition media to exclusionary globalization and the articulation of alternative and radical public sphere for the recent demonstrations policies in planetary scale. Data were collected in the first half of 2013, on a course completion project in vehicles with citizen journalism characteristics ["Portal Fórum", "Outras Palavras" and "Observatório da Imprensa"]. Partial these mapping results indicate that these manifestations inherited anti-capitalist demands of previous decades, and amplified in [by digitally pathways] in political demonstrations that swept those abrasive months in major cities worldwide.
