El dret a l'educació i la igualtat d'oportunitats. Perspectiva històrica

La importància del sistema educatiu per a la formació d’una consciència democràtica és un tema ja present en el pensament il•lustrat i recollit en la Constitució de 1812 on es pretenia que, amb els plans d’instrucció, a partir de l’any 1830 sabessin llegir i escriure tots els ciutadans. L’objectiu d’aquesta recerca és analitzar com el dret a l’educació és determinant per al desplegament de la nostra personalitat i per a la igualtat d’oportunitats. Molts dels problemes i de les tensions presents en la configuració d’un model de sistema educatiu per a la nostra societat democràtica són conseqüència de plantejaments no resolts des de fa dos segles. La consolidació, per primer cop en la nostra història, d’un ordenament jurídic democràtic, exigeix un esforç per part de tots els agents implicats en el sistema educatiu per a possibilitar una societat on sigui vigent el principi d’igualtat d’oportunitats.

Aplicació web per a la gestió de nòmines a Andorra

Durant aquesta memòria s'explica d'una forma resumida el treball realitzat per dur a terme una aplicació web comercial per a la realització del càlcul de nòmines al Principat d’Andorra. A l'inici de la memòria es pot llegir una breu introducció sobre el projecte i de mica en mica s'endinsa en l'estudi, anàlisi i disseny del projecte per arribar als objectius establerts. Considero que tant l'anàlisi com el disseny són les parts més importants del projecte perquè un bon treball en aquestes fases pot evitar molts errors a les fases posteriors. Per últim s’explica la situació actual del projecte i es pot llegir una breu conclusió i opinió personal sobre el projecte realitzat.

Reactive and proactive approaches for introspective CBR

This work investigates applying introspective reasoning to improve the performance of Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) systems, in both reactive and proactive fashion, by guiding learning to improve how a CBR system applies its cases and by identifying possible future system deficiencies. First we present our reactive approach, a new introspective reasoning model which enables CBR systems to autonomously learn to improve multiple facets of their reasoning processes in response to poor quality solutions. We illustrate our model’s benefits with experimental results from tests in an industrial design application. Then as for our proactive approach, we introduce a novel method for identifying regions in a case-base where the system gives low confidence solutions to possible future problems. Experimentation is provided for Zoology and Robo-Soccer domains and we argue how encountered regions of dubiosity help us to analyze the case-bases of a given CBR system.

Ischemic heart disease in postmortem CT and CT angiography

Objective: Postmortem radiology had in recent years appeared in the field of forensic medicine and is now considered by some authors as a good replacement for conventional autopsy and by others as a complementary examination. Although postmortem CT radiological imaging is very useful in demonstrating traumatic lesions, its utility is still quite limited in the cardiovascular field. This limitation could be minimized by the introduction of postmortem angiography. At the University Center of Legal Medicine of Lausanne, CT scans and postmortem multiphase CTangiography are used in cases with a suspicion of ischemic heart disease.Method: The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate some correlations between postmortem CT, CTangiography and conventional autopsy examination in cases of ischemic heart disease.Results: We observed that the native CT scan can show only some pathological findings as cardiac tamponade and calcifications of coronary arteries. However, postmortem angiography allows a better visualization of coronary arteries and evaluation of stenosis and occlusion as well as better imaging of soft tissue.Conclusion: The interpretation of postmortem modern radiology is a new field for both forensic pathologists and radiologists who have to learn to read the postmortem modified images. The information obtained from both parties can help to further the understanding of CT and CT angiography in postmortem cases.

ADOS: an educational primary prevention programme for preventing excess body weight in adolescents.

OBJECTIVE: The prevalence of adolescent obesity has increased considerably over the past decade in Switzerland and has become a serious public health problem in Europe. Prevention of obesity using various comprehensive programmes appears to be very promising, although we must admit that several interventions had generally disappointing results compared with the objectives and target initially fixed. Holistic programmes including nutritional education combined with promotion of physical activity and behaviour modification constitute the key factors in the prevention of childhood and adolescent obesity. The purpose of this programme was to incorporate nutrition/physical education as well as psychological aspects in selected secondary schools (9th grade, 14-17 years). METHODS: The educational strategy was based on the development of a series of 13 practical workshops covering wide areas such as physical inactivity, body composition, sugar, energy density, invisible lipids, how to read food labels, is meal duration important? Do you eat with pleasure or not? Do you eat because you are hungry? Emotional eating. For teachers continuing education, a basic highly illustrated guide was developed as a companion booklet to the workshops. These materials were first validated by biology, physical education, dietician and psychologist teachers as well as school medical officers. RESULTS: Teachers considered the practical educational materials innovative and useful, motivational and easy to understand. Up to now (early 2008), the programme has been implemented in 50 classes or more from schools originating from three areas in the French part of Switzerland. Based on the 1-week pedometer value assessed before and after the 1 school-year programme, an initial evaluation indicated that overall physical placidity was significantly decreased as evidenced by a significant rise in the number of steps per day. CONCLUSION: Future evaluation will provide more information on the effectiveness of the ADOS programme.

La salut laboral dels docents estudi de les causes psicosocials del malestar docent

El treball de recerca que he realitzat porta per títol: "LA SALUT LABORAL DELS DOCENTS. ESTUDI DE LES CAUSES PSICOSOCIALS DEL MALESTAR DOCENT", perquè tenir una bona salut laboral i arribar cada dia a la feina amb il•lusió i optimisme són essencials per poder ser un bon professional en el camp de l’educació i saber transmetre als alumnes i als companys de treball: energia, vitalitat, entusiasme i ganes d’aprendre. La salut laboral és l’element clau de la satisfacció professional, de la qualitat de la feina educativa i de la consolidació dels centres com a veritables entorns d’aprenentatge. La qualitat personal dels docents i, per tant, la seva salut laboral, contribueixen a la qualitat educativa i a garantir uns veritables entorns inclusius d'aprenentatge. D'aquest treball inicial en sorgeix un segon volum que porta per títol: "CURS DE FORMACIÓ EN EDUCACIÓ EMOCIONAL PER A LA PREVENCIÓ DEL MALESTAR DOCENT", on es suggereix un currículum per treballar l'educació emocional dels docents i diverses activitats per fer un veritable creixement personal, que portin cap a la satisfacció professional dels docents.

Proposta metodològica per afavorir el treball en equip en assignatures que contenen la realització de projectes de disseny d'enginyeria

Aquest projecte ha tingut com a finalitat principal impulsar un aprenentatge més efectiu dels alumnes en assignatures que, impartides en una modalitat semipresencial a les escoles de Terrassa i Manresa, comporten la realització d’un treball de curs amb un alt contingut de disseny. A més a més, paral·lelament es contribueix a millorar el rendiment acadèmic de l'estudiant, en el marc de la millora global de la docència i de l'aprenentatge a la UPC amb un horitzó d'aproximació als elements que conformen l’Espai Europeu d’Educació Superior. En el context de semipresencialitat, es pretén fomentar l'aprenentatge cooperatiu i donar solució als problemes comunicatius existents a nivell d’intercanvi d’opinions, valoracions i formulació de dubtes vinculats amb el disseny, etc. En aquest projecte, doncs, s’ha creat una metodologia de treball que permet intercanviar informació gràfica (per exemple en format Autocad) a partir de les aplicacions ja incloses en la plataforma virtual Atenea (campus virtual de la UPC). Aquest projecte es basa principalment en tres objectius principals: 1. Millorar l'intercanvi d'informació entre alumnes d’un grup i entre els alumnes i el professor mitjançant el desenvolupament de protocols. 2. Fomentar l’aprenentatge cooperatiu mitjançant la integrar d’eines d’interacció instantània per Internet. 3. Adaptar l’assignatura de "Complexos Industrials" al procés de convergència a l’EEES. L'activitat ha estat desenvolupada al quadrimestre de tardor 2008-2009 i la metodologia ha estat implantadas a l'assignatura Complexos Industrials d'Enginyeria en Organització Industrial de la ETSEIAT i de la EUPM.

Structured output SVM for remote sensing image classification

In the recent years, kernel methods have revealed very powerful tools in many application domains in general and in remote sensing image classification in particular. The special characteristics of remote sensing images (high dimension, few labeled samples and different noise sources) are efficiently dealt with kernel machines. In this paper, we propose the use of structured output learning to improve remote sensing image classification based on kernels. Structured output learning is concerned with the design of machine learning algorithms that not only implement input-output mapping, but also take into account the relations between output labels, thus generalizing unstructured kernel methods. We analyze the framework and introduce it to the remote sensing community. Output similarity is here encoded into SVM classifiers by modifying the model loss function and the kernel function either independently or jointly. Experiments on a very high resolution (VHR) image classification problem shows promising results and opens a wide field of research with structured output kernel methods.

Atenció primària: una aproximació a l'experiència vital de l'educand com a element educatiu

La recerca Atenció Primària: una aproximació a l'experiència vital de l'educand com a element educatiu, posa de relleu la importància de l'experiència viscuda en un individu com a element motivador i capacitador de les pròpies expectatives personals, de les ganes de superació en el procés educatiu que s'està duent a terme entre l'educador o educadora i l'educand com a subjecte de l'experiència. El treball que presento vol ser una primera aproximació a un element tan important com és l'experiència vital de l'educand. Preguntes com quin paper juga l'experiència, el record, la posada en pràctica i la seva recuperació, sempre des d'un punt de vista educatiu i no terapèutic, són les que m'he plantejat en la recerca. Exploro com la recuperació d’allò que cadascú viu com a bon saber i posar-lo en pràctica de nou, pot ser un element facilitador en el procés educatiu. Reflexionar sobre unes accions ja realitzades és tornar-les a pensar des d'una memòria reflexiva, perquè no comencem de zero, sinó que comencem des d'aquella acció que en el seu moment ja ens va dur a un resultat positiu. Suposa aprendre a pensar millor, a utilitzar el pensament com un processador de la experiència i la informació. L’educador/a social, en aquesta relació, fa “de mirall” del propi educand, ajudant a sortir-se'n, acompanyant-lo en el recorregut de l'aprenentatge.

AMH New Horizons, Fermanagh

This is their 3rd BCPP project and is a Level 3. Previous projects highlighted the complex health issues facing those with significant mental health problems. From their successful partnership, the pharmacist now sits on their steering group. This project will build upon previous work and aims to provide people with the skills to make healthier lifestyle choices. Participants, the pharmacist and other providers will work in partnership to design a programme that will focus on the participants supporting each other and relaying their learning to others in the centre.
