E-Business, verstanden als ganzheitliche Strategie zur Reorganisation von Geschftsprozessen, Strukturen und Beziehungen in Unternehmen, bietet fr die Arbeitsgestaltung in einer digital vernetzten Welt Chancen und Risiken in Hinblick auf die Humankriterien. Empirische Untersuchungen in 14 Unternehmen zeigen good practice-Anstze im B2B-Feld (Business-to-Business). Untersucht wurden die Ttigkeiten der elektronisch vernetzten Auftragsbearbeitung, des Web-, Content-Managements, der digitalen Druckvorlagenherstellung sowie der CAD- Bauplanzeichnung. Die beobachteten Arbeitspltze zeigen, dass Arbeitsinhalte eher ganzheitlich und komplex gestaltet sind. Planende, ausfhrende, kontrollierende und organisierende Anteile weisen auf eine vielfltige Aufgabengestaltung hin, die hohe Anforderungen beinhaltet. Whrend alle beobachteten Ttigkeiten mit Aufnahme-, Erarbeitungs-, Verarbeitungs-, bertragungs- und Weitergabeprozessen von Informationen zu tun haben, gibt es Differenzen in Bezug auf den Arbeitsumfang, den Zeitdruck, Fristsetzungen, erwartete Arbeitsleistungen sowie die Planbarkeit der Aufgaben. Die vorgefundenen Aufgabentypen (wenig bis sehr anforderungsreich im Sinne von Denk- und Planungsanforderungen) sind gekennzeichnet durch eine unterschiedlich ausgeprgte Aufgabenkomplexitt. Interessant ist, dass, je anforderungsreicher die Aufgabengestaltung, je hher die Aufgabenkomplexitt, je grer die Wissensintensitt und je niedriger die Planbarkeit ist, desto grer sind die Freirume in der Aufgabenausfhrung. Das heit wiederum, dass bei zunehmenden E-Business-Anteilen mehr Gestaltungsspielrume zur Verfgung stehen. Die bestehenden Chancen auf eine humane Aufgabengestaltung sind umso grer, je hher die E-Business-Anteile in der Arbeit sind. Diese Wirkung findet sich auch bei einem Vergleich der Aufgabenbestandteile wieder. Die negativen Seiten des E-Business zeigen sich in den vorgefundenen Belastungen, die auf die Beschftigten einwirken. Diskutiert wird die Verschiebung von krperlichen hin zu psychischen und vorrangig informatorischen Belastungen. Letztere stellen ein neues Belastungsfeld dar. Ressourcen, auf welche die Mitarbeiter zurckgreifen knnen, sind an allen Arbeitspltzen vorhanden, allerdings unterschiedlich stark ausgeprgt. Personale, organisationale, soziale, aufgabenbezogene und informatorische Ressourcen, die den Beschftigten zur Verfgung stehen, werden angesprochen. In Bezug auf die Organisationsgestaltung sind positive Anstze in den untersuchten E-Business-Unternehmen zu beobachten. Der Groteil der untersuchten Betriebe hat neue Arbeitsorganisationskonzepte realisiert, wie die vorgefundenen kooperativen Organisationselemente zeigen. Die kooperativen Organisationsformen gehen allerdings nicht mit einer belastungsrmeren Gestaltung einher. Das vorgefundene breite Spektrum, von hierarchisch organisierten Strukturen bis hin zu prozess- und mitarbeiterorientierten Organisationsstrukturen, zeigt, dass Organisationsmodelle im E-Business gestaltbar sind. Neuen Anforderungen kann insofern gestaltend begegnet und somit die Gesundheit und das Wohlbefinden der Mitarbeiter positiv beeinflusst werden. Insgesamt betrachtet, zeigt E-Business ein ambivalentes Gesicht, das auf der Basis des MTO-Modells (Mensch-Technik-Organisation) von Uhlich (1994) diskutiert wird, indem vernetzte Arbeitsprozesse auf personeller, technischer sowie organisationaler Ebene betrachtet werden. E-business, seen as more than only the transformation of usual business processes into digital ones, furthermore as an instrument of reorganisation of processes and organisation structures within companies, offers chances for a human oriented work organisation. Empirical data of 14 case studies provide good practice approaches in the field of B2B (Business-to-Business). The observed work contents show, that tasks (e.g. order processing, web-, contentmanagement, first print manufacturing and architectural drawing) are well arranged. Executive, organising, controlling and coordinating parts constitute a diversified work content, which can be organised with high demands. Interesting is the result, that the more e-business-parts are within the work contents, on the one hand the higher are the demands of the type of work and on the other hand the larger is the influence on workmanship. The observed enterprises have realised new elements of work organisation, e.g. flexible working time, cooperative leadership or team work. The direct participation of the employees can be strengthened, in particular within the transformation process. Those companies in which the employees were early and well informed about the changes coming up with e-business work, the acceptance for new technique and new processes is higher than in companies which did not involve the person concerned. Structured in an ergonomic way, there were found bad patterns of behaviour concerning ergonomic aspects, because of missing knowledge regarding work-related ergonomic expertise by the employees. E-business indicates new aspects concerning requirements new in the field of informational demands, as a result of poorly conceived technical balance in the researched SME. Broken systems cause interruptions, which increase the pressure of time all the more. Because of the inadequate usability of software-systems there appear in addition to the informational strains also elements of psychological stress. All in all, work contents and work conditions can be shaped and as a result the health and well-being of e-business-employees can be influenced: Tasks can be structured and organised in a healthfulness way, physiological strain and psychological stress are capable of being influenced, resources are existent and developable, a human work design within e-business structures is possible. The ambivalent face of e-business work is discussed on the basis of the MTO- (Mensch-Technik-Organisation) model (Ulich 1994). Thereby new and interesting results of researches are found out, concerning the personal/human side, the technical side and the organisational side of e-business work.

This paper introduces a framework that supports users to implement enterprise modelling within collaborative companies. These enterprise models are the basis for a holistic interoperability measurement and management methodology which will be presented in the second part of the paper. The discipline of enterprise modelling aims at capturing all dimensions of an enterprise in a simplified model. Thus enterprise models are the appropriate basis for managing collaborative enterprise as they reduce the complexity of interoperability problems. Therefore, a first objective of this paper is to present an approach that enables companies to get the most effect out of enterprise modelling in a collaborative environment based on the maturity of their organisation relative to modelling. Within this first step, the user will get recommendations e.g. for the correct modelling language as well as the right level of detail.

Engineering of negotiation model allows to develop effective heuristic for business intelligence. Digital ecosystems demand open negotiation models. To define in advance effective heuristics is not compliant with the requirement of openness. The new challenge is to develop business intelligence in advance exploiting an adaptive approach. The idea is to learn business strategy once new negotiation model rise in the e-market arena. In this paper we present how recommendation technology may be deployed in an open negotiation environment where the interaction protocol models are not known in advance. The solution we propose is delivered as part of the ONE Platform, open source software that implements a fully distributed open environment for business negotiation

Tanto las industrias legales como ilegales tienen lderez y gerentes. Estas personas al mando deben hacer decisiones estrategicas con el fin de asegurar la rentabilidad de sus negocios. La manera en que ellos toman estas decisiones y las consecuencias de estas mismas son las preguntas que este documento pretende resolver. Haciendo una aplicacin general del modelo de Michael Porter, este documento analiza y describe brevemente la configuracin de ambos mercados (legal e illegal): es decir las maneras de hacer negocios, las tcticas utilizadas para negociar con los proveedores y compradores, las estrategias para resaltar los beneficios de sus productos frente a los sustitutos, y en general las acciones realizadas para competir, obtener un posicionamiento y porcin en el mercado total. El objetivo de este documento no es exaltar las estrategias de los lderes en las industrias ilegales, sino resaltar aquello que los directivos en las industrias legales podran hacer mejor para mejorar el nombre de los productos colombianos en el exterior.

This paper develops some theoretical and methodological considerations for the development of a critical competence model (CCM). The model is defined as a set of skills and knowledge functionally organized allowing measurable results with positive consequences for the strategic business objectives. The theoretical approaches of classical model of competences, the contemporary model of competencies and human competencies model were revised for the proposal development. implementation of the model includes 5 steps: 1) conducting a job analysis considering which dimensions or facets are subject to revision, 2) identify people with the opposite performance (the higher performance and lower performance); 3) identify critical incidents most relevant to the job position, 4) develop behavioral expectation scales (bes) and 5) validate BES obtained for experts in the field. As a final consideration, is determined that the competence models require accurate measurement. Approaches considering excessive theoreticism may cause the issue of competence become a fashion business with low or minimal impact, affecting its validity, reliability and deployment in organizations.

The research nurseries serve as a initiative designed for the purpose of contribute to the breakdown of seizure paradigms of knowledge, supported by a theoretical model of discernment that exceed the traditional method of learning in the classroom, to transcend critical insights into transforming the environment under an autonomous space to provide tools essentially scientific, but with ethical criterion and social commitment. Such a conception, however, could be perceived as talkative, and even metaphorical, at the contrast of reality purely versatile in which the neophyte not only tries to get enough of the fruit of knowledge, but also requires that appropriate strategies are put forward to achieve seizure. Then arises, from the formative entelechy the use of technological tools based on virtual learning environments, in order to enhance motivation as an alternative against the blurring of perspectives and the emerging business in some types of nurseries, stranded attitude, that sometimes not far from the master model.

Esta disertacin busca estudiar los mecanismos de transmisin que vinculan el comportamiento de agentes y firmas con las asimetras presentes en los ciclos econmicos. Para lograr esto, se construyeron tres modelos DSGE. El en primer captulo, el supuesto de funcin cuadrtica simtrica de ajuste de la inversin fue removido, y el modelo cannico RBC fue reformulado suponiendo que des-invertir es ms costoso que invertir una unidad de capital fsico. En el segundo captulo, la contribucin ms importante de esta disertacin es presentada: la construccin de una funcin de utilidad general que anida aversin a la prdida, aversin al riesgo y formacin de hbitos, por medio de una funcin de transicin suave. La razn para hacerlo as es el hecho de que los individuos son aversos a la prdidad en recesiones, y son aversos al riesgo en auges. En el tercer captulo, las asimetras en los ciclos econmicos son analizadas junto con ajuste asimtrico en precios y salarios en un contexto neokeynesiano, con el fin de encontrar una explicacin terica de la bien documentada asimetra presente en la Curva de Phillips.

The relative stability of aggregate labor's share constitutes one of the great macroeconomic ratios. However, relative stability at the aggregate level masks the unbalanced nature of industry labor's shares the Kuznets stylized facts underlie those of Kaldor. We present a two-sector one labor-only and the other using both capital and labor model of unbalanced economic development with induced innovation that can rationalize these phenomena as well as several other empirical regularities of actual economies. Specifically, the model features (i) one sector ("goods" production) becoming increasingly capital-intensive over time; (ii) an increasing relative price and share in total output of the labor-only sector ("services"); and (iii) diverging sectoral labor's shares despite (iii) an aggregate labor's share that converges from above to a value between 0 and unity. Furthermore, the model (iv) supports either a neoclassical steadystate or long-run endogenous growth, giving it the potential to account for a wide range of real world development experiences.

We try to explain why economic conflicts and illegal business often take place in poor countries. We use the concept of subsistence level of consumption (d) and assume a regular concave utility function for consumption levels higher than d. For consumption levels lower than d utility is constant and equal to zero. Under this framework poor agents are risk-lovers. This result helps to explain why economic conflicts are more likely to appear in poor economies and why poor agents are more willing to undertake illegal business.

This paper considers an overlapping generations model in which capital investment is financed in a credit market with adverse selection. Lenders inability to commit ex-ante not to bailout ex-post, together with a wealthy position of entrepreneurs gives rise to the soft budget constraint syndrome, i.e. the absence of liquidation of poor performing firms on a regular basis. This problem arises endogenously as a result of the interaction between the economic behavior of agents, without relying on political economy explanations. We found the problem more binding along the business cycle, providing an explanation to creditors leniency during booms in some LatinAmerican countries in the late seventies and early nineties.

In this paper, investment cost asymmetry is introduced in order to test wheter this kind of asymmetry can account for asymmetries in business cycles. By using a smooth transition function, asymmetric investment cost is modeled and introduced in a canonical RBC model. Simulations of the model with Perturbations Method (PM) are very close to simulations through Parameterized Expectations Algorithm (PEA), which allows the use of the former for the sake of time reduction and computational costs. Both symmetric and asymmetric models were simulated and compared. Deterministic and stochastic impulse-response excersices revealed that it is possible to adequately reproduce asymmetric business cycles by modeling asymmetric investment costs. Simulations also showed that higher order moments are insu_cient to detect asymmetries. Instead, methods such as Generalized Impulse Response Analysis (GIRA) and Nonlinear Econometrics prove to be more e_cient diagnostic tools.

In this chapter, the Smets-Wouters (2003) New Kenesian model is reformulated by introducing the loss aversion utility function developed in chapter two. The purpose of this is to understand how asymmetric real business cycles are linked to asymmetric behavior of agents in a price and wage rigidities set up. The simulations of the model reveal not only that the loss aversion in consumption and leisure is a good mechanism channel for explaining business cycle asymmetries, but also is a good mechanism channel for explaining asymmetric adjustment of prices and wages. Therefore the existence of asymmetries in Phillips Curve. Moreover, loss aversion makes downward rigidities in prices and wages stronger and also reproduces a more severe and persistent fall of the employment. All in all, this model generates asymmetrical real business cycles, asymmetric price and wage adjustment as well as hysteresis.

This research studies from an internal view based on the Competency-Based Perspective (CBP), key organizational competencies developed for small new business. CBP is chosen in an attempt to explain the differences characterizing the closed companies from the consolidated ones. The main contribution of this paper is the definition of a set of key organizational competencies for new ventures from services and low technology based sectors. Using the classification proposed by [1] and a review of the entrepreneurship literature, the main competencies were defined and classified as: managerial, input-based, transformation-based, and output-based competencies. Nowadays, companies are living great difficulties on managing their business due to constant and unpredictable economic market fluctuations. Recent changes in market trends (such as the constant demand for new products and services, mass customization and the drastic reduction of delivery time) lead companies to adopt strategies of creating partnerships with other companies as a way to respond effectively to such difficult economical times. Collaborative Networks concept born by the consequence of companies could no longer consider their internal business processes management as sufficient and tend to seek for a collaborative approach with other partners for their critical processes. Information technologies (ICT) assumed a major role acting as enablers of these kinds of networks, enhancing information sharing and business process integration. Several new trends concerning ICT architectures have been created to support collaborative networks requirements, but still doesnt exist a common platform to reduce the needed integration effort on virtual organizations. This study aims to investigate the current technological solutions available in the market which enhances the management of companies business processes (specially, Collaborative Planning). Finally, the research work ends with the presentation of a conceptual model to answer to the constraints evaluated.

In this paper we focus on the one year ahead prediction of the electricity peak-demand daily trajectory during the winter season in Central England and Wales. We define a Bayesian hierarchical model for predicting the winter trajectories and present results based on the past observed weather. Thanks to the flexibility of the Bayesian approach, we are able to produce the marginal posterior distributions of all the predictands of interest. This is a fundamental progress with respect to the classical methods. The results are encouraging in both skill and representation of uncertainty. Further extensions are straightforward at least in principle. The main two of those consist in conditioning the weather generator model with respect to additional information like the knowledge of the first part of the winter and/or the seasonal weather forecast.
