La ciencia y tú : selección de los mejores experimentos del Ontario Science Center.

Se centra en el conocimiento del cuerpo humano y de la ciencia. Mediante la realización de sencillos experimentos, los alumnos comprenderán los contenidos que se explican en la introducción de los mismos.

Camiños, canles e portos. 'Caminos, canales y puertos'.

En primer lugar, se exponen las salidas profesionales de un Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos en la Administración y en empresas privadas. Después, se detalla el nuevo plan de estudios existentes en la Universidad de A Coruña. Estructurado en 2 ciclos, de 2 y 3 años respectivamente. A continuación, se detallan las asignaturas existentes en dicho plan, tanto las troncales, como las optativas. Aparte de estas asignaturas, se deben realizar otras de libre configuración.

Discovering our historic enviroment. 'Descubriendo nuestro entorno histórico'.

Proyecto que implica a alumnos de la ESO de 14 a 16 años en una serie de actividades que les ayudan a descubrir el entorno histórico del lugar donde viven y el desarrollo de su ciudad. Mediante el estudio y observación de edificios y lugares conocen su herencia cultural y el ambiente en el que se encuentran.

A chemical Hamiltonian approach study of the basis set superposition error changes on electron densities and one- and two-center energy components

A comparision of the local effects of the basis set superposition error (BSSE) on the electron densities and energy components of three representative H-bonded complexes was carried out. The electron densities were obtained with Hartee-Fock and density functional theory versions of the chemical Hamiltonian approach (CHA) methodology. It was shown that the effects of the BSSE were common for all complexes studied. The electron density difference maps and the chemical energy component analysis (CECA) analysis confirmed that the local effects of the BSSE were different when diffuse functions were present in the calculations

One- and two-center energy components in the atoms in molecules theory

The energy decomposition scheme proposed in a recent paper has been realized by performing numerical integrations. The sample calculations carried out for some simple molecules show excellent agreement with the chemical picture of molecules, indicating that such an energy decomposition analysis can be useful from the point of view of connecting quantum mechanics with the genuine chemical concepts

One- and two-center physical space partitioning of the energy in the density functional theory

A conceptually new approach is introduced for the decomposition of the molecular energy calculated at the density functional theory level of theory into sum of one- and two-atomic energy components, and is realized in the "fuzzy atoms" framework. (Fuzzy atoms mean that the three-dimensional physical space is divided into atomic regions having no sharp boundaries but exhibiting a continuous transition from one to another.) The new scheme uses the new concept of "bond order density" to calculate the diatomic exchange energy components and gives them unexpectedly close to the values calculated by the exact (Hartree-Fock) exchange for the same Kohn-Sham orbitals

The re-urbanization of the city center of Manaus , Brazil - Facing the challenges of informal settlements

Illegal occupation of urban land in Brazil is a widespread phenomenon. Slum dwellers are excluded from the attributes of urban citizenship although they provide the labor force required by low productivity urban services needed by cities. Illegal settlements generate multiple problems for the rest of the city . Its solution is of key relevance to the city in general but also provide an opportunity for the social and economic advancement of slum dwellers. The programs required to attain these results are complex and difficult to implement underscoring the challenges countries will face to attain the Millennium Development Goals of reducing the population living in slums.

Responsabilidade social das organizações e satisfação no trabalho: estudo num call center

A presente dissertação tem como objectivo estudar a percepção dos colaboradores a respeito da Responsabilidade Social da Organização exercida pela organização onde trabalham e a relação desta com a Satisfação no Trabalho. Cento e sete colaboradores de um call center responderam a um questionário que incluía as escalas de Percepção de Responsabilidade Social, Satisfação no Trabalho e a escala de Call Center construída para este estudo. As hipóteses são, duas, verificar se quando maior a percepção de práticas socialmente responsáveis nas diferentes dimensões (colaboradores, ambiente e comunidade e económica) maior a satisfação com o trabalho e se as condições de trabalho na organização apresentarem níveis elevados, maior a Satisfação no Trabalho. Dos resultados obtidos, concluiu-se uma associação positiva entre as três dimensões da Responsabilidade Social com a Satisfação no Trabalho, em particular uma associação mais elevada com a dimensão Percepção da Responsabilidade Social - Ambiente e Comunidade. Destaca-se também que a Satisfação no Trabalho está mais associada com a percepção do reconhecimento profissional do que com as condições de trabalho no call center.
