Objetivo:O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar o fentipo do HLA em pacientes com contratura de Dupuytren (CD) para verificar a correlao desses alelos com os fatores de risco para o desenvolvimento da CD na populao brasileira.Mtodos:Este foi um estudo de caso-controle de 25 pacientes com CD e 443 indivduos saudveis sem histrico de doenas associadas ao HLA. As tipagens classe I e classe II do HLA foram feitas utilizando o mtodo iniciador de sequncias especficas da reao em cadeia da polimerase.Resultados:O fentipo HLA-B*18 foi observado em 32% dos pacientes e 10,5% do grupo controle. Contudo, os valores de p no permaneceram significativos aps correo.Discusso:Apesar de termos observado um aumento na tendncia de os pacientes com CD terem o alelo HLA-B*18, os resultados no foram estatisticamente significativos aps correo. Esse alelo foi maior em pacientes de etnia italiana e/ou espanhola, locais com frequncias superiores a 18% e 14%, respectivamente. So necessrias investigaes adicionais com uma coorte maior de pacientes com CD para confirmar o possvel papel do HLA nessa doena.

This paper aims at contributing with research about Information Science through analysis of Bibliometric indicators applied to Dentistry in Brazil, comparing the impact of such production with the ones from major countries in that field. The analyzed indicators are the following: total number of citations, self-citations, average of citations received a year and index h. Within the procedures, we outlined, in the Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) the group of producing countries in the field of Dentistry from 1996 to 2009. The results show that Brazil is the only country in Latin America which is among those of major impact in Dentistry. We highlight the role of the Bibliometric indicators as methodological contribution to the research while pointing out the main performers in the knowledge field.

The demographic census is the largest and most important socioeconomic research of the country since it portrays the situation closer to the reality of the population. Their result allows public policy making aimed at improving the quality of life, socioeconomic development and provides information for decision making on public and private sector. Due to the large amount of data collected, the processing of such information requires increasingly use information technology to facilitate processing. Therefore, the increasingly common use of the Geographic Information System (GIS) in various fields of knowledge contributes to the job achievement given its ability to collect, store, retrieve and view data. Following this trend, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statics (IBGE) also used this tool in the development of cartographic inputs, wich plays a key role for the data collection range nationwide

O objetivo maior deste trabalho contribuir para se diagnosticar qual a conjuntura atual do setor microfinanceiro no Brasil. Para tanto, inicia uma exposio histrica, com o intuito de demonstrar quais as variveis condicionantes de nosso estgio atual, chegando at ao ltimo programa lanado pelo governo federal com a finalidade de fomentar os servios financeiros entre a populao de baixa renda - vale ressaltar, o Programa Nacional de Microcrdito Produtivo Orientado (PNMPO). A partir dessa fase, inicia uma exposio dos novos obstculos, criados, paradoxalmente, no seio do PNMPO e ligados ao excesso de regulao, a serem transpostos para se desenvolver a indstria de microfinanas no pas, propondo solues para estes. Por fim, faz um estudo de caso de uma inovao social, ligada economia solidria, que apresenta timos resultados no que tange a democratizao dos servios microfinanceiros, ocorrida em Fortaleza/CE: o Banco Palmas

This article presents the theoretical and methodological road used to construct the Historical Dictionary of Brazilian Portuguese in the XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries (sponsored by CNPq). Starting with some examples and models of historical and diachronic dictionaries we set the model that structures the Dictionary; it has the purpose of assembling in a single book the Portuguese language lexicon responsible for the construction of the Portuguese language in Brazil. Our reference basis is a data bank with many sorts of sources existing along the three centuries of the Brazilian colonial history. This data bank provides the nomenclature of the historical dictionary and allows the construction of the lexicographical definition through its lexical context that is followed by consecrated examples. This article also presents the contributions of the dictionary to future studies of the Brazilian Portuguese.

The aim of this study is to investigate the importance of Roberto Simonsen and research on the living conditions of workers in So Paulo by the Free School of Sociology and Social Policy in the 1930s to the consolidation of sociology applied to Brazil. We propose to investigate the influence of Roberto Simonsen on using the model of Sociology in the cited research, the intellectual influences which justify the choice of both researchers, the methodology and the practical consequences of these attitudes for sociology and for Brazil.

With respect to design, scientific production in the area helps consolidate it as a scientific field can contribute to the development of society through the promotion of the construction of critical knowledge of researchers. Scientific conferences and journals, periodicals and books consist of some of the effective actions for the exchange of knowledge. Through these channels the results of research are disseminated, shared and put into discussion, collaborating with the learning process and cooperation among sectors. Thus, this paper reflects on the evolution of scientific research in the area and attempts to give an overview of current research of Design in Brazil and its correlation with the Graduate Program in Design.

The Amazon region has a large sociobiodiversity, where lives people with traditional knowledge about the uses of its natural resources. The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 1992 recognized the autonomy of each nation over its genetic resources and the rights of traditional populations about the knowledge of the use of these natural resources. In 2001 it was published the law M.P. 2.186-16/2001 which created the Conselho Nacional de Gesto do Patrimnio Gentico (CGEN) and the first rules about access to genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge in Brazil. Since his creation, the actions of CGEN have received criticism from various sectors, both private and public, and, unlike its initial proposal, has become one of the main obstacles of ethnobotanical studies, the bureaucracy, the long process analysis and communication difficulties with this organ.
