50 anos de produ����o acad��mica brasileira sobre alfabetiza����o: avan��os, contradi����es e desafios

Aiming to contribute to understanding the Brazilian academic production on literacy, theses and dissertations on the subject, completed between 1965 and 2011, are analyzed. Situating them in the historical process of constitution of literacy as an object of study, since the 19th. century, beyond the political and historical context of origin in the 1960s, the following contexts are focused, especially from the 1980s, when begins the process of expansion in terms of amount of this academic production and geographic diversity as well as areas of expertise of the graduate programs in which they were defended. While these advances confirm the importance of approaches that consider the interdisciplinary and multifaceted character of literacy, there are contradictions that present significant challenges to researchers seeking both understand the permanence of motivations and pragmatic purposes as to proposing new themes, objects, theoretical and methodological aspects for the development of new research that are lacking, as diagnosed needs and desired progress, scientifically and socially.

O munic��pio de Rio Claro, localizado na regi��o central do estado de S��o Paulo, durante o auge da era do caf��, da imigra����o tanto estrangeira como regional e da instala����o de v��rias empresas, dentre elas a Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro se urbanizou num acelerado ritmo, assim como tantas outras cidades do Brasil. Como resultado o aglomerado urbano cresceu, necessitando que seu per��metro expandisse para a zona rural, comprometendo tanto o seu patrim��nio hist��rico quanto o cultural. Antigas propriedades datadas do final do século XIX que resistem �� a����o do tempo e mant��m viva a riqueza e a cultura da ��poca d��o lugar �� cidade. Esse processo �� observado no bairro rural do Sobrado, localizado na regi��o norte de Rio Claro, que vem sofrendo diretamente com a expans��o urbana atrav��s da cria����o de novos loteamentos residenciais e comerciais. Ser professor no século XXI: notas para uma discuss��o pol��tica

Among living beings, the human species is distinguished by the need to produce material and intentionally its existence through labor, an important part of a process of humanization. However, in the current historical conditions, the work does not meet the vital needs of the vast majority, as they do not owned what they produce, they do not realize as humans beings in work activity, they dehumanize themselves. Since, even in such conditions, continue to work everyday, we ask ourselves how they support the condition in which they live. As the decision of the historical men are defined by the education process they experienced, we question whether the schooling that take places in capitalist public school has the purpose of developing an instruction in the working class graduating to be exploited at work throughout life, consenting to be bound of the relationships use of themselves by others, multiple determinate, while they are adapted to a life without the products work. Our hypothesis is that to make this education project, the public school needed to assimilate the scientific management, developed by Frederyck Taylor, in the pedagogical organization. We based on dialectical and historical materialism, which we established the public school environment as reproducing the class struggle, highlighting the teacher work. The spatial formation of Rio Claro city preserves several features of the problematic transition from the slave to remunerated labor in the late 20th, when the tacit ethnic bipolar sociability standard emerged, imprinting ���black��� and ���white��� forms to the city���s urban space. The ethnic social clubs Jos�� do Patroc��nio and Tamoio, are two objects of ethnic groups��� exclusive use. Such ethnic social clubs indicate the existence of conflicts in their formation, as well as in their present existence, they are forms that preserve in themselves the codes and histories of the local black movement���s fight for their rights and for an autonomous place in the local society. In the present context the spaces are increasingly subjected to commercial interests and the spirits are embedded in confusion. What is the value of these spaces for the subjects who built them? The versions and narratives from oral accounts will allow us to understand the existing dimensions in the relation between the places and the memory, evidencing the importance of the patrimony and the patrimonial policies to the cities in the present historical period of geographic space globalization

Rio - Paris: prim��rdios da publica����o da Literatura Brasileira chez Garnier

This article brings to light the latest research on the activities of Baptiste-Louis Garnier, French bookseller and publisher established in Rio de Janeiro, in his relations with the French publishing world: methods, procedures, books, authors and publishers. Cultural exchanges between these two systems helped to consolidate the canon of authors and works of Brazilian Literature in the nineteenth century. The study of these relationships can give full account of some information scholars have provided us and contributes to a better understanding of the process of production and circulation of literary works in Brazil.

L'article Uma estr��ia no romance: A mocidade de Trajano veut revoir l'histoire de la publication de ce roman de 1871, reni��,quelques ann��es plus tard, par Alfredo d'Escragnolle Taunay. On y veut aussi v��rifier les marques qui ce remettent �� ceux de Macedo, surtout en ce qui concerne sa filiation au m��lodrame (le mot pris dans son sens le plus vaste). Le regard de l'auteur sur le paysage, l'importance du r��le attribu�� par lui �� la nature ��� sc��ne id��aleoppos��s �� la constatation des d��g��ts dans les rapports seigneur/esclave, surtout dans les grandes propri��t��s rurales, pendant le XIXe., ont, eux aussi, ��t�� objet de r��flexions. Finalement, dans cet article on a essay�� de remarquer la filiation id��ologique du personnage Trajano �� des valeurs europ��ennes, notamment fran��aises.

O passado no presente: Jo��o Gilberto Noll, leitor de ��lvares de Azevedo

In the mid-nineteenth century, in his fruitful years of the perhaps best-known shortest literary career, ��lvares de Azevedo wrote this verse ���As ondas s��o anjos que dormem no mar��� (���The waves are angels who sleep in the sea���). In the presentation of Jo��o Gilberto Noll���s young adult novel Anjo das ondas (Angel of the waves) in 2010, Ivan Marques states that the character in the novel, Gustavo, ���with his adolescent passion, and torn spirit with overflowing lyrics, could even be compared to our tropical Byron���. Jo��o Gilberto Noll establishes a connection between him and ��lvares de Azevedo that invites the reader to go beyond a first reading level of his work, seeking evidence of dialogue ratification between two apparently distant writers. The subtle intertextuality exceeds the initial clue and can be detected on Noll���s theme development from the history of Gustavo, a troubled teenager in search of his identity. Noll���s affinity to ��lvares de Azevedo can still be captured in his narrative texture, in voices coming from his text; however, they also reveal to be unique and original features of his literary production. An apparent exercise in style shows that each author fulfills his mission by expressing, in his own way, the feeling of his time. In addition, it shows that through aesthetic emotion, literature allows us to transcend time and space.

Foramfocalizados elementos pass��veis de generaliza����o, entre eles aunidade da forma escolar e as diferentes pr��ticas prescritas aosprofessores, destinadas a enraizar valores e ideais no processoformativo. Foram analisados os seguintes manuais: CursoPractico de Pedagogia, de autoria de Mr. Daligault (1874);Elementos de Pedagogia, de autoria de Jose Maria da Gra��aAffreixo e Henrique Freire (1870); e Li����es de pedagogia gerale de história da educa����o, de Alberto Pimentel Filho (1932).

Recep����o de Odorico Mendes: (a)casos de cr��tica de tradu����o no s��c. XIX

This paper aims at gathering evidences about the reception of Odorico Mendes Greek andRoman translations among his contemporaries. Some of the most celebrated lusophone writersof the 19th Century such as Joaquim Manoel de Macedo, Gon��alves Dias and Ant��nioFeliciano de Castilho left us their reviews on the work of Mendes, the most productiveand controversial Brazilian translator of the time. The analysis of those data provides valuabledocuments of translation criticism that could constitute evidence of translation practices andmethods in an historical period in which Ancient Literature poetic translations were mostlyproduced.

A forma����o do cidad��o moderno: a sele����o cultural para a escola prim��ria nos manuais de Pedagogia (Brasil e Portugal, 1870���1920)

This article seeks to understand the production of the modern school in Brazil and Portugal at the turn of the 20th century. The analysis falls on the pedagogical knowledge constituted around school programs disseminated in pedagogical manuals at the Normal Schools in Brazil and Portugal. The study uses three teacher training manuals as source of information: Curso pratico de pedagogia destinado aos alunos-mestres das escholas normaes primarias e aos instituidores em exerc��cio (1874), by Mr. Daligault; Elementos de Pedagogia para servirem de guia aos candidatos ao magist��rio prim��rio (1870), by Jos�� Maria da Gra��a Affreixo and Henrique Freire; and Li����es de metodologia (1920), by Bernardino da Fonseca Lage.
