O presente relatório tem como objectivo descrever as actividades desenvolvidas no estágio curricular realizado na empresa Odisseias, no âmbito da conclusão do mestrado em marketing digital da Universidade Europeia. A primeira parte do relatório é constituída pelo enquadramento teórico, que é iniciado com uma abordagem ao conceito geral de marketing digital, passando em, seguida, para as redes sociais, dando uma breve definição das redes pela qual fui responsável na Odisseias e a importância destas para o marketing. De seguida, falo sobre o que é a marca e como esta é vista pelo consumidor. Abordo também as compras colectivas, mercado onde está inserido a Odisseias e o e-commerce, que é onde se centra a grande receita de vendas da empresa. A segunda parte do presente relatório é constituída pelo enquadramento prático, ou seja, pela apresentação da empresa, descrição das tarefas desempenhadas no estágio e por uma conclusão sobre as aprendizagens e sugestões para melhorar, na minha perspectiva, o funcionamento da empresa.

The present work has as an objective to seize up some particular meanings of the Feast of Sant Ana (The saint which represents the city of Caicó/RN), a central event of the calendar festive-religious of that city, looking for to perceive on how it combines with the symbolic poles sacred: profane through the social bonds that are present there performed and expressed through the social networking and of local belongings. Such bond ties reveal themselves through a very especial manner, through the migration of returning to the feast, when collectively are produced and updated knowledge and codes that reinforce the representation of the local belonging, nominated as being caicoense . We seek on perceiving how the many events of this feast (from a perspective of a religious order as well as laic) acting on a conclusive way to an identity of the re-meaning of that city, especially in its relation with the migrant natives: the sons and daughters that return to the arms of Sant Ana

A democracia contemporânea vem, ao longo das últimas décadas, recebendo cada vez mais influência dos meios de comunicação em seus processos. Com o surgimento e propagação da Internet, os governos tem precisado se adaptar e se preocupar com a transparência de suas ações e com as inúmeras vozes de atores sociais cada vez mais conectados, informados e munidos de ferramentas, por meio das quais, podem realizar comunicações de grande alcance de forma rápida e eficaz, sem o intermédio de grandes meios de comunicação. Com o objetivo de observar a relação entre o governos e cidadãos por meio das redess sociais online – um dos principais meios por onde a sociedade, hoje, tem se comunicado e se mobilizado sobre inúmeras, inclusive, políticas – esse estudo analisou como o Ministério da Educação do Brasil (MEC), órgão responsável pelo planejamento e desenvolvimento de políticas públicas para educação no país, trabalha sua comunicação com o cidadão por meio do Facebook e como utiliza essa ferramenta no processo de implementação e avaliação de suas políticas. O trabalho foi realizado por meio do estudo exploratório e da análise qualitativa dos dados colhidos na página MEC no Facebook entre anos de 2011 e 2014, período do primeiro mandato da presidente Dilma Rousseff. Com a análise, observou-se que o MEC modificou bastante a forma como se comunica por esta rede social, recebendo, inclusive, aparente melhor infra-estrutura para esta tarefa. Sua mudança de postura no Facebook deixa claro o interesse e a busca pela participação dos cidadadãos no desevolvimento de suas políticas públicas. Por outro lado, mostra que essa participação é, de certa forma, limitada pela atitude do MEC de não desenvolver diálogo com o cidadão, mantendo-os sempre a certa distância.

Sabendo que grande parte do combate ao flagelo que é a sinistralidade rodoviária, passa pela prevenção e que as redes sociais são ferramentas cada vez mais utilizadas no quotidiano, pela sociedade, tendo passado a ser um veículo cada vez mais utilizado para comunicar com as pessoas, surge a presente investigação intitulada: “A utilização das redes sociais pela Guarda Nacional Republicana no âmbito da Prevenção Rodoviária”. O objetivo geral do presente Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada, é determinar o contributo da utilização das redes sociais na divulgação da Prevenção Rodoviária, por parte da Guarda Nacional Republicana. Nesta investigação adotou-se o método hipotético-dedutivo tendo-se a presente investigação desenvolvido em três fases: exploratória, analítica e conclusiva. A primeira fase consiste num levantamento bibliográfico e documental. A segunda fase consiste em análise documental, na recolha e tratamento de dados resultantes da realização de entrevistas, e na respetiva apresentação, análise e discussão dos mesmos, respondendo-se ainda às hipóteses de investigação, lançadas no início da investigação. Na terceira fase, responde-se às perguntas derivadas e à pergunta de partida, frisando ainda algumas dificuldades sentidas durante a realização desta investigação. Assim, conclui-se que ao aderir às redes sociais, a instituição passou a ser um ator ativo e autónomo no processo de comunicação, não necessitando constantemente da comunicação social para passar determinada mensagem. A instituição pode e deve complementar e tomar a iniciativa, em situações em que a comunicação social dê uma importância redutora a certas campanhas, relevando o papel da utilização das redes sociais, sendo possível atingir números bastante consideráveis de pessoas. Além disso, passou a ser possível pôr em prática campanhas e ações de autoria própria, elevando assim o nome da Guarda, tornando-a num produto “apetecível” para a comunicação social, fazendo com que venham ter com a instituição e estejam interessados em que esta faça parte do seu tempo de antena, especialmente da televisão.

The purpose of this thesis was to study the students’ perspective on their use of Facebook to further their studies. There were three research questions: (1) To what extent do students use Facebook to further their studies? (2) In what ways do students use Facebook to further their studies? (3) What do students believe are the ways that Facebook can be used by colleges and universities to help students with their studies? There were three major themes relating to usage of Facebook: non-academic usage, curricular, and co-curricular. Most of the students indicated they used Facebook to stay in touch with people they already knew. With regard to academic usage, the answers given related mostly to professors’ offers of support, collaborations with projects and assignments, and cheating on exams. There were mixed responses about whether students wanted professors to make use of Facebook in classes and how, with many indicating that they wanted to keep Facebook separate from their curricular activities. Students that were in the education fields were more than willing to use Facebook to help them in their studies than students in other majors.

The growth of social networking platforms has drawn a lot of attentions to the need for social computing. Social computing utilises human insights for computational tasks as well as design of systems that support social behaviours and interactions. One of the key aspects of social computing is the ability to attribute responsibility such as blame or praise to social events. This ability helps an intelligent entity account and understand other intelligent entities’ social behaviours, and enriches both the social functionalities and cognitive aspects of intelligent agents. In this paper, we present an approach with a model for blame and praise detection in text. We build our model based on various theories of blame and include in our model features used by humans determining judgment such as moral agent causality, foreknowledge, intentionality and coercion. An annotated corpus has been created for the task of blame and praise detection from text. The experimental results show that while our model gives similar results compared to supervised classifiers on classifying text as blame, praise or others, it outperforms supervised classifiers on more finer-grained classification of determining the direction of blame and praise, i.e., self-blame, blame-others, self-praise or praise-others, despite not using labelled training data.

This study aims to analyse the extent of online social responsibility (SR) information disclosure by Portuguese municipalities and to identify related determinant factors, based on Institutional Theory and Legitimacy Theories. A content analysis was performed on webpages from 60 sampled municipalities, and an information disclosure index was created.Descriptive statistics obtained indicate the Total Disclosure Index (TDI) value was 0.46. The Economic Information sub-category exhibits the highest value (0.66), followed by the Social and Environmental Information categories (0.61 and 0.36, respectively). The multivariate analysis results indicate that LA21 implementation the existence of tax burdens, the characterisation of a municipality as urban and environmental/SR certification application positively influence SR information disclosure. TDI is negatively affected by the existence of an inactive population (i.e. by the percentage of individuals ≤19 and ≥65 years of age).

La hipótesis de retroalimentación facial planteada por Tomkins en 1962 sustenta que la activación de algunos músculos faciales envía información sensorial al cerebro y se induce entonces una experiencia emocional en el sujeto. Partiendo de dicha teoría y de investigaciones que la sustentan, el presente estudio se propuso confirmar el efecto de la emoción inducida a través de la retroalimentación facial sobre la evaluación de cinco tipos de humor en publicidad. Para ello se realizó un experimento con 60 hombres y 60 mujeres, que fueron asignados aleatoriamente a una de dos condiciones: estimulación de sonrisa –músculos hacia arriba- o inhibición de sonrisa –músculos hacía abajo-, mientras evaluaban 16 imágenes de publicidad de humor. A partir del análisis de los resultados se encontraron diferencias significativas entre las condiciones; en línea con la hipótesis formulada, los participantes expuestos a la condición estimulación de sonrisa –músculos hacía arriba- evaluaron más positivamente los comerciales. También se encontraron diferencias significativas en función del sexo y los tipos de humor evaluados. El estudio ofrece evidencia empírica de la teoría propuesta hace más de medio siglo y su efecto en el ámbito de la publicidad actual.

Delegation, from the technical point of view, is widely considered as a potential approach in addressing the problem of providing dynamic access control decisions in activities with a high level of collaboration, either within a single security domain or across multiple security domains. Although delegation continues to attract significant attention from the research community, presently, there is no published work that presents a taxonomy of delegation concepts and models. This paper intends to address this gap by presenting a set of taxonomic criteria relevant to the concept of delegation and applies the taxonomy to a selection of significant delegation models published in the literature.

The wine industry has become fiercely competitive worldwide, and consumers are increasingly exposed to a wider range of wines in retail outlets. Therefore, wineries need to develop and build consumer loyalty toward their brands. The authors empirically test a model of wine brand loyalty in a Latin American context which considers wine brand trust, brand satisfaction, wine knowledge and wine experience as antecedents. Hypotheses are tested with structural equation modeling (SEM). Findings show that wine experience is positively related to brand trust and brand satisfaction. In addition, results show that consumer satisfaction with a wine brand is the strongest driver of brand loyalty.

Predicting who may leave a fishery is an important consideration when designing capacity reduction programs to enhance both ecological and economic sustainability. In this paper, the relationship between satisfaction and the desire to exit a fishery is examined for the Queensland East Coast Trawl fishery. Income from fishing, and changes in income over the last 5 years, were key factors affecting overall satisfaction. Relative income per se was not a significant factor, counter to most satisfaction studies. Continuing a family tradition of fishing and, for one group, pride in being a fisher was found to be significant. Satisfaction with fishing overall and the challenge of fishing were found to be the primary drivers of the desire to stay or leave the fishery. Surprisingly, public perceptions of fishing, trust in management and perceptions of equity in resource allocation did not significantly affect overall satisfaction or the desire to exit the fishery.

Apple is undoubtedly a sui generis and remarkable brand in what concerns to its branding and brand experience, and remains an indisputable reference in the consumer electronics and computer industries. The aim of this study encompasses the development and empirical testing of two conceptual models that evaluate and allow to draw a comparison between Apple clients and non-clients’ perceptions, regarding brand experience, brand perceived value, price perceptions and brand trust; and that determine the antecedents of clients’ loyalty to the brand. Therefore, the contribution of this study to the literature relies on the research of the impact of brand experience on brand perceived value and on price perceptions, as well as the influence of price perceptions (positive and negative) on trust, satisfaction, and commitment to the brand. Two surveys were used to test each conceptual model, through a sample collected across the portuguese academic community. The findings prove the strong influence of the sensory and affective aspects of brand experience on both clients and non-clients. They also reveal that the negative role of price is neutralized in the presence of strong brand experience, and that the fact that Apple is viewed as an “expensive brand” may highlight its association to higher quality and prestige. Also, this study reinforces the important role of satisfaction and commitment in building customer loyalty, corroborating the existent literature. Managerial implications derived from the findings are also discussed.

The paper concentrates on trust as a research topic that receives increasing attention from the side of different social disciplines. The author of this thesis attempts to identify the reasons of this phenomenon, as well as the decline in usage of the concepts conveying a congenial idea, such as, solidarity, cooperation, social cohesion, social capital or connectedness. The key hypotheses, such as paradigmatic change within the social sciences, emergence of risk society, proliferation of the postmodem condition, new infonnation and communication technologies and the crisis of democracy are considered through the works of the authors who now mainly responsible for the shaping of the discourse of trust. The concepts of Luhmann, Putnam, Sztompka, Fukuyama and Hardin are analyzed from an epistemological viewpoint in its ontological and political implications. The primary goal of the paper is to overview trust from the methodological viewpoint, illustrating the limitations of the concept as a research strategy as weII as it advantages in the epoch when the social sciences acquire a status of moral disciplines.
