Desenvolvimento juvenil do caranguejo Bathyrhombila sp. (Crustacea, Decapoda, Pseudorhombilidae), a partir de megalopas obtidas no nêuston

O reconhecimento de braquiúros jovens, obtidos na natureza, é extremamente difícil, pois nesta fase os caranguejos não apresentam as mesmas características dos adultos. Além disso, há falta de estudos sobre o desenvolvimento pós-embrionário desses animais. Nada é conhecido sobre o desenvolvimento juvenil para os representantes da família Pseudorhombilidae. Este trabalho analisa o crescimento de Bathyrhombila sp., e apresenta detalhes morfológicos para identificação dos estágios de desenvolvimento. Os decapoditos de braquiúros foram coletados com redes de nêuston na região de Ubatuba, estado de São Paulo, Brasil. As larvas foram transportadas para o laboratório e cultivadas isoladamente em recipientes rotulados, contendo água do mar filtrada e aerada, além de alimentadas com nauplius de Artemia sp. Obteve-se 11 estágios juvenis para machos e 14 para fêmeas. A morfologia e o número de cerdas presentes nos apêndices são descritos, em especial, para o 1º estágio juvenil. Os caracteres sexuais secundários aparecem a partir do 4º estágio juvenil. Uma comparação com as demais espécies de caranguejos já estudadas evidenciou que Bathyrhombila sp. possui a forma da carapaça semelhante à de Eurytium limosum. Além disso, Bathyrhombila sp. possui cinco artículos no endopodito do segundo maxilípede, enquanto as outras espécies de Xanthoidea e Eriphioidea possuem quatro

Motivação e adesão no esporte infanto-juvenil

O esporte infanto-juvenil vem sendo apontado como um importante aliado na promoção de uma vida mais ativa, bem como um forte instrumento de inclusão social. Por isso, é fundamental investigar quais fatores mais contribuem para a adesão no esporte infanto-juvenil. Pensando nisso foram investigados 15 adolescentes com idades entre 13 e 15 anos, participantes de um programa de iniciação esportiva; duas vezes por semana; com duração média de uma hora/dia. Para a coleta dos dados foi aplicado um questionário fechado, composto por 8 categorias, no qual, foram citados como motivos para a adesão os seguintes fatores, dispostos do maior para o menor motivo: Para competir; Ficar em forma; Fazer algo em que sou bom; Ficar mais habilidoso; Diversão; Amigos; Poder vir a ganhar dinheiro; e Outros. O conhecimento dos principais motivos para a adesão no esporte infanto-juvenil pode facilitar a adoção de uma conduta mais apropriada de: pais, técnicos e dirigentes, e servir como forma de incentivar a prática esportiva destes jovens, diminuindo assim, a grande rotatividade e abandono precoce das modalidades esportivas destes indivíduos.

Before precarious objective conditions, the teams receive future athletes, without educational concern that support adult professional life. The contradictions - that set between habitus of professional soccer beginners and material living conditions offered for soccer youth academies - make an important space for procedure of educators.

A literatura juvenil na escola

Literature has always had a tense relationship with school. On the one hand, its educational function which is a feature of its own has motivated its insertion into curricula; on the other hand, its pedagogical use seems to defile its esthetical value. Such a paradox may be clearly observed in juvenile literature whose specificity has not always been acknowledged. To discuss the alleged specificity of that literary subgenre and its use in school, this essay compares the books A órbita dos caracóis (2003), by Reinaldo Moraes, and Se eu fechar os olhos agora (2009), by Edney Silverstre, which have in common their possible destination to the juvenile public, even though neither of them has been conceived of with that purpose in mind.

Ópera e literatura em cena: uma análise da obra juvenil aída, adaptada por han mi-ho e ilustrada por Lucia Sforza

This text’s objective is to present an analysis of Aída, adapted by Han Mi-Ho (2012) and illustrated by Lucia Sforza, from the classic eponymous opera by Giuseppe Verdi. This book is part of the collection Classical music on the scene, published by FTD, which aims to introduce stories of important librettos regarded as classics in the music field to young audiences. More specifically, we intend to verify in this text, with Bakhtinian principles, how the dialogue between Verdi’s work and HanMi-Ho’s is actualized. To achieve these objectives, we will present a reflection of what provides the pleasure in reading. In this text we built the hypothesis that Han-Mi-Ho’s strategy to rescue a classic opera and adapt it in the form of an illustrated narrative for the young reader provides the contact with an attractive and playful text that leads to critical reflection and expands his knowledge through the rescue of the cultural memory. The appropriation of a classic cultural production adapted to the narrative language and targeted to a young audience can act as an appraisal factor in the identity of the reader. Through it, he is able to raise his self-esteem, because he perceives that he is considered as a production receiver, while at the same time he is recognized as the heir of a traditional cultural heritage.

Comparação entre o Disease Activity Score-28 e o Juvenile Arthritis Disease Activity Score na artrite idiopática juvenil

Introduction: the assessment of the activity of rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis is made by means of different tools, respectively DAS-28 and JADAS.Objective: To compare DAS-28 and JADAS with scores of 71, 27 and 10 joint counts in juvenile idiopathic arthritis.Method: A secondary analysis of a phase III placebo-controlled trial, testing safety and efficacy of abatacept was conducted in 8 patients with 178 assessment visits. Joint count scores for active and limited joints, physician's and parents'global assessment by 0-10 cm Visual Analog Scale, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate normalized to 0-10 scale, in all visits. The comparison among the activity indices in different observations was made through Anova or adjusted gamma model. The paired observations between DAS-28 and JADAS 71, 27 and 10, respectively, were analyzed by linear regression.Results: There were significant differences among individual measures, except for ESR, in the first four months of biological treatment, when five of the eight patients reached ACR-Pedi 30, with improvement. The indices of DAS-28, JADAS 71, 27 and 10 also showed significant difference during follow-up. Linear regression adjusted model between DAS-28 and JADAS resulted in mathematical formulas for conversion: [DAS-28 = 0.0709 (JADAS 71) + 1.267] (R-2 = 0.49); [DAS-28 = 0.084 (JADAS 27) + 1.7404] (R-2 = 0.47) and [DAS-28 = 0.1129 (JADAS-10) + 1.5748] (R-2 = 0.50).Conclusion: The conversion of scores of DAS-28 and JADAS 71, 27 and 10 for this mathematical model would allow equivalent application of both in adolescents with arthritis. Tradução de diários para o público infanto-juvenil: as adaptações culturais do livro Diário de um Banana

As traduções dos best-sellers para o público infanto-juvenil apresentam inúmeras implicações culturais reconhecidas como estratégias de tradução. Além disso, existe o apelo comercial inserido nesse gênero literário. Esse importante recurso, adotado pelo tradutor e seus editores, tem como intuito alcançar um alvo certo: o leitor de literatura de massa. Nesse sentido, o objetivo deste artigo é analisar algumas frases e expressões culturais contidas na tradução do best-seller Diário de um banana. Para tanto, a análise compara alguns excertos do texto original, identificando as escolhas lexicais e adaptações culturais usadas pelo tradutor brasileiro.

Demarcação da madeira juvenil e adulta de Corymbia citriodora

This paper had the objective of determining the transition regions between the juvenile and mature wood of Corymbia citriodora (Eucalyptus citriodora) of 29 years of age from the Experimental Station of Forest Science (EECFA-LCF/ESALQ-USP), located in Anhembi, in the State of São Paulo. The regions of juvenile and mature wood were characterized through anatomical studies - axial fiber length - following the recommendations of the International Association of Wood Anatomists (1989) using disks at the DBH of the trees. The measurements of fiber length were made in equipment for acquisition, diagnosis and image analysis. Five slices were made for every centimeter, in the radial direction and six fiber lengths per slice were measured, producing 30 measurements per sample region. In the total, 1740 lengths of fiber were measured in three disks that were studied. Results indicate a trend of accentuated and linear increase for the length of fibers, from the pith to 11 cm of radial of about 79%. Between 12 cm and 19 cm of the radius, fibers length remained almost constant, and from that point on, the fiber length tended to slightly increase to the bark. It can be concluded that for these trees, at this height of sampling, when the tree has 29 years of age, the extension of the juvenile wood goes up to 52% of its radius.

Acupuntura em adolescentes com fibromialgia juvenil

OBJETIVO: Descrever a utilização da acupuntura em adolescentes com fibromialgia juvenil. MÉTODOS: Estudo retrospectivo realizado em pacientes com fibromialgia juvenil (critérios do Colégio Americano de Reumatologia) submetidos a, pelo menos, 11 sessões semanais de acupuntura. As avaliações antes e após acupuntura incluíram dados demográficos, características da dor musculoesquelética, número de pontos dolorosos (NPD), escala visual analógica (EVA) de dor, algiometria e índice miálgico (IM). Durante o estudo, os pacientes puderam usar analgésicos, amitriptilina e foram orientados a praticar atividade física aeróbica. Os resultados antes e após acupuntura foram comparados pelo teste não paramétrico de Wilcoxon. RESULTADOS: Dos 38 pacientes com fibromialgia juvenil acompanhados em oito anos consecutivos, 13 tinham todas as informações nos prontuários e nas fichas de acupuntura e foram avaliados. Destes 13, sete obtiveram melhora nos três parâmetros analisados (número de pontos dolorosos, EVA de dor e IM). As medianas do número de pontos dolorosos e da EVA de dor foram significativamente maiores antes do tratamento quando comparados ao final do tratamento com as sessões de acupuntura [14 (11-18) versus 10 (0-15), p=0,005; 6 (2-10) versus 3 (0-10), p=0,045; respectivamente]. Em contraste, a mediana do IM foi significativamente menor antes do tratamento [3,4 (2,49-4,39) versus 4,2 (2,71-5,99), p=0,02]. Nenhum dos pacientes com fibromialgia juvenil apresentou eventos adversos associados à acupuntura. CONCLUSÕES: Acupuntura é uma modalidade de Medicina Tradicional Chinesa que pode ser utilizada nos pacientes pediátricos com fibromialgia. Futuros estudos controlados serão necessários.
