El mundo literario de Hans Christian Andersen.

En el año 2005 se ha celebrado el aniversario del nacimiento de Hans Christian Andersen, autor de cuentos universales de tanta importancia y tan conocidos como El patito feo, El soldadito de plomo o La sirenita. Por este motivo se realiza este repaso por su vida, tratando de buscar además las diferencias entre este autor y otros de igual importancia como son los Hermanos Grimm y Charles Perrault, se habla también de su vida amorosa y de los motivos de su muerte. Repasa los distintos momentos de su obra literaria y los distintos temas y rasgos de importancia que la representan, como su obra autobiográfica, el romanticismo, la oralidad en sus cuentos, los finales tristes, temas como la muerte, el dolor, la religión, Dios, la utilización del pesimismo literario, etc. Se realiza un análisis del cuento de El patito feo, explicando su contenido profundo y su significado. Hay que destacar que estos cuentos también han llegado al cine y se han realizado distintas traducciones y versiones dando especial importancia a la versión de El patito feo de Walt Disney.

O artigo discute a conceção de natureza humana presente na obra de Hans Morgenthau (1904-1980) a partir de seu clássico. A Política entre as Nações: a luta pelo poder e pela Paz, debatendo o seu papel para o conjunto de sua teoria. Aqui se discutem as diferenças entre esta conceção de Morgenthau e a de Thomas Hobbes, na qual se inspira, e as consequências disso para a relação entre Estado, sociedade e entre os próprios Estados na esfera internacional. Discute também a ligação dessa ontologia para o campo das relações internacionais, ligando ao debate da impossibilidade do Estado Mundial e sobre o fenómeno do equilíbrio de poder, na esferadoméstica e no cenário internacional.

Innovación docente en el marco de cumplimiento de los estándares de desempeño profesional estipulados por el Ministerio de Educación, en el colegio Johannes Kepler

No es suficiente una encuesta o como en este caso tres, para adentrarse en el bosque de alternativas que el proceso educativo encierra, sin embargo pretendo con este estudio analizar el efecto de una estructura (Reforma educativa del 2010 Ecuador) que puede involucrar cambios significativos, que supone transformación y variaciones cualitativas relevantes; por lo que el objetivo que tiene esta investigación es determinar cómo el cumplimiento de estándares y la formulación de documentos por parte de los docentes del Colegio Johannes Kepler afecta a las diferentes gestiones relacionadas con el proceso educativo y cómo la puesta en marcha de un planteamiento teórico pensado y diseñado por un reducido grupo social, implica a sus participantes a concertar, planificar, determinar procesos y procedimientos que requieren ser mediados por las autoridades de cada institución, con un acompañamiento atento y persistente, que podría equilibrar la gestión integral del sistema educativo y en especial la gestión docente en el aula; sin perder la creatividad para seleccionar, implementar experiencias formativas que desafíen a los estudiantes a ser resilientes y críticos, a través de prácticas significativas que les permita integrar nuevos aprendizajes y mejorar sus relaciones interpersonales. Este trabajo tiene como intención dar luces a todos los lectores, educadores y directivos de los diferentes establecimientos educativos, para encontrar un balance en la gestión administrativa y “la razón de ser” de toda institución educativa que es formar seres humanos competentes socialmente y no solamente reformular evidencias administrativas para llegar a ser más eficientes y eficaces en un proceso que necesita sabiduría y equilibrio para dejar una huella y revolucionar un sistema. Además, pretendo dilucidar la influencia que vive el docente, en su práctica cotidiana que tiene como marco de acción estándares que miden su conocimiento y dominio de los lineamientos curriculares determinados a nivel nacional, que permiten a sus protagonistas (los maestros/as ecuatorianos/as) analizar el alcance de la gestión de aprendizaje, su capacitación y su compromiso ético profesional, y que les lleva en su gestión pedagógica a ser creativos e innovadores esencialmente en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje, a promover políticas y estrategias que permitan potenciar una cultura orientada hacia el cambio, aplicando un enfoque flexible, integrado, interdisciplinario y crítico en su intervención en el aula.

A genome-wide association meta-analysis identifies new childhood obesity loci

Multiple genetic variants have been associated with adult obesity and a few with severe obesity in childhood; however, less progress has been made in establishing genetic influences on common early-onset obesity. We performed a North American, Australian and European collaborative meta-analysis of 14 studies consisting of 5,530 cases (≥95th percentile of body mass index (BMI)) and 8,318 controls (<50th percentile of BMI) of European ancestry. Taking forward the eight newly discovered signals yielding association with P < 5 × 10(-6) in nine independent data sets (2,818 cases and 4,083 controls), we observed two loci that yielded genome-wide significant combined P values near OLFM4 at 13q14 (rs9568856; P = 1.82 × 10(-9); odds ratio (OR) = 1.22) and within HOXB5 at 17q21 (rs9299; P = 3.54 × 10(-9); OR = 1.14). Both loci continued to show association when two extreme childhood obesity cohorts were included (2,214 cases and 2,674 controls). These two loci also yielded directionally consistent associations in a previous meta-analysis of adult BMI(1).

Isolation of novel multipotent neural crest-derived stem cells from adult human inferior turbinate

Adult human neural crest-derived stem cells (NCSCs) are of extraordinary high plasticity and promising candidates for the use in regenerative medicine. Here we describe for the first time a novel neural crest-derived stem cell population within the respiratory epithelium of human adult inferior turbinate. In contrast to superior and middle turbinates, high amounts of source material could be isolated from human inferior turbinates. Using minimally-invasive surgery methods isolation is efficient even in older patients. Within their endogenous niche, inferior turbinate stem cells (ITSCs) expressed high levels of nestin, p75(NTR), and S100. Immunoelectron microscopy using anti-p75 antibodies displayed that ITSCs are of glial origin and closely related to nonmyelinating Schwann cells. Cultivated ITSCs were positive for nestin and S100 and the neural crest markers Slug and SOX10. Whole genome microarray analysis showed pronounced differences to human ES cells in respect to pluripotency markers OCT4, SOX2, LIN28, and NANOG, whereas expression of WDR5, KLF4, and c-MYC was nearly similar. ITSCs were able to differentiate into cells with neuro-ectodermal and mesodermal phenotype. Additionally ITSCs are able to survive and perform neural crest typical chain migration in vivo when transplanted into chicken embryos. However ITSCs do not form teratomas in severe combined immunodeficient mice. Finally, we developed a separation strategy based on magnetic cell sorting of p75(NTR) positive ITSCs that formed larger neurospheres and proliferated faster than p75(NTR) negative ITSCs. Taken together our study describes a novel, readily accessible source of multipotent human NCSCs for potential cell-replacement therapy.

Kan egenvårdsutbildning ge kunskaper som leder till ökad livskvalitet och att fler patienter slutar röka? : En jämförelse av två olika omhändertagandenav KOL patienter i primärvården.En kvasiexperimentell studie

Syftet med studien var att jämföra livskvalitet, kunskap om KOL och antal patienter som inlett ett rökstopp där en grupp erhöll standard vård och en annan grupp förutom standard vård även fick ett strukturerat omhändertagande på en distriktssköterskeledd KOL- mottagning med undervisning i egenvård.Studien genomfördes med kvasiexperimentell design. Urvalet var 52 patienter från primärvården med diagnosen KOL. Patienterna matchades utifrån kön, sjukdomens svårighetsgrad och slumpades sen till två grupper, en interventionsgrupp och en jämförandegrupp. Jämförandegruppen erhöll standardvård medan interventionsgruppen utöver standardvård erhöll två utbildningsbesök i egenvård hos astma KOL-sjuksköterskan på en vårdcentral i mellansverige.Som datainsamlingsmetod har två enkäter använts. En enkät som innehöll frågor om kön, ålder, civilstånd, utbildning, upplevd kunskap om KOL och rökstatus samt en enkät som hade till syfte att ge information om hur andningsbesvären påverkar patientens livskvalitet. Båda grupperna har svarat på enkäterna vid två tillfällen, vid det första besöket och vid det sista besöket efter tre månader. Interventionsgruppen har däremellan fått två utbildningsbesök.Resultaten visade statistiskt säkerställda skillnader mellan grupperna gällande livskvalitet, rökstopp och kunskaper om KOL. Interventionsgruppen hade fått minskade andningsbesvär, hade ökat sin fysiska aktivitet och fått en bättre psykosocial hälsa. Medan jämförande gruppen hade försämrats något i alla dessa avseenden. I interventionsgruppen hade sex av sexton rökande patienter slutat att röka, medan ingen hade slutat av de fjorton rökande patienterna i jämförandegruppen. Patienterna i interventions- gruppen hade också väsentligen större kunskaper om sin sjukdom jämfört med patienterna i jämförandegruppen.

Wirklichkeit und Fiktion in Günter Grass Im Krebsgang : Eine erzähltheoretische Analyse

Die Novelle, Im Krebsgang, von Günter Grass ist eine Mischung aus Zeitgeschichte, persönlicher Biografie des Autors und lebhafter Fantasie. Diese Komponenten auseinanderzuhalten könnte die Verständigung der Novelle verbessern. Nach den Annahmen, dass der engste Personenkreis um die Familie Pokriefke Fiktion ist, und die Geschichten um den U-Boot-Kommandanten Marinesko, den Medizinstudenten Frankfurter, den Nationalsozialisten Gustloff und das KdF-Schiff Wilhelm Gustloff faktual sind, wurden sechs Textabschnitte ausgewählt. Durch eine literaturwissenschaftliche Analyse dieser Textabschnitte wurden sechs Punkte gefunden, die die Trennlinie zwischen den fiktionalen und faktualen Textabschnitten identifizieren. Gefunden wurde, dass in den faktualen Texten der Erzähler immer auktorial, aus großer Distanz berichtet, und immer von der Fokalisierung getrennt ist. In den fiktionalen Texten aber liegt immer die Fokalisierung beim Erzähler, der stets szenisch erzählt.
