Levantamento elétrico e análise de equipamento para acabamento térmico e químico de telas para pneus

Esta dissertação surge da necessidade da empresa Continental - Indústria Têxtil do Ave S.A. – grupo Continental Mabor atualizar os esquemas elétricos de uma máquina para acabamento térmico e químico de telas para pneus. Esta máquina (Zell) é crucial no seu processo produtivo e foi ao longo dos anos sofrendo sucessivas atualizações no sentido de melhorar o seu processo de produção. Existiam já, esquemas elétricos da máquina realizados em EPLAN no entanto não foram acompanhando as sucessivas alterações sofridas pela mesma. Deste modo, torna-se assim necessário não só produzir um suporte digital desses mesmos esquemas como também proceder à sua atualização. Ao longo desta dissertação o leitor pode obter informações relativas à Zell e ao processo de análise, estudo e documentação dos seus quadros elétricos em software EPLAN Electric P8. São ainda abordadas técnicas de leitura e desenho em EPLAN e descritas algumas das funcionalidade que este permite. É abordada a base de dados criada com informações relativas à máquina tais como características dos seus motores, variadores de frequência e localização dos quadros elétricos ao longo dos pisos que a compõe. No âmbito desta dissertação foi redigido o “Manual da Máquina de Impregnar Zell” e neste relatório abordam-se os principais tópicos que o compõe. Com a atualização dos esquemas tornou-se necessário proceder à identificação de diversos componentes na máquina. Esse processo de identificação é também aqui retratado. O leitor pode por fim obter informações de como realizar um processo de troca de variadores de frequência da marca ABB de diferentes gamas tendo em consideração as ligações em causa para o fazer. Pretende-se assim que o leitor fique com uma noção geral das diferentes vertentes que foram abordadas neste trabalho realizado sob a forma de um estágio com duração de seis meses no seio desta indústria.

Seizures and Praziquantel. A case report

A 27 year Old male developed seizures after receiving a single 20 mg/kg dose of praziquantel for the treatment of an intestinal Hymenolepis nana infection. On further clinical and laboratorial evaluations, he was found to suffer from an until then asymptomatic parenchymal brain cysticercosis. Praziquantel must be used with caution in those areas where cysticercosis represents a mayor public health problem. The occurrence of unexpected seizures in an individual being treated with the compound, must prompt clinicians to rule out cysticercosis of the CNS.

Chagas' Disease: an acute transfusional case report

Report of a case of acute transfusional Chagas'disease in a four-year-old child with a previous diagnosis of acute lymphocytic leukemia, transmitted in São Paulo, the Capital of São Paulo State, Brazil. Epidemiological investigation disclosed the donor's serological positivity and his previous residence in an area where Chagas' disease is endemic. The importance of adequate sorological screening in blood donors is evident. It should be stressed that this is the first case notified to the Superintendência de Controle de Endemias (SUCEN) (Superintendency for the Endemy Control) of the State Secretariat of Health, São Paulo, for the last five years.

Treatment of Cutaneous Larva Migrans with albendazole: preliminary report

Twenty three patients with Cutaneous Larva Migrans syndrome were prospectively treated with 400 mg/day of Albendazole for 3 consecutive days. Clinical response, compliance and tolerance was excellent. Patients were asymptomatic within the first 72 hours of treatment and recurrences did not occurred. Preliminary results with three additional patients suggest that a single oral 400 mg dose may be effective as well.

Erysipelothrix endocarditis with previous cutaneous lesion: report of a case and review of the literature

This report describes the first documented case of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae endocarditis in Latin America. The patient was a 51-years-old male, moderate alcoholic, with a previous history of aortic failure. He was used to fishing and cooking as a hobby and had his left hand wounded by a fish-bone. The disease began with erysipeloid form and developed to septicemia and endocarditis. He was treated with antibiotics and surgery for aortic valve replacement. There are only 46 cases of E. rhusiopathiae endocarditis reported to date. The authors wonder if several other cases might go unreported for lack of microbiological laboratorial diagnosis.

Mediastinal and pulmonary entomophthoromycosis with superior vena cava syndrome: case report

The first case of mediastinal and pulmonary entomophthoromycosis with supe rior vena cava syndrome is reported. The patient presented with a history of edema of the face, neck and upper limbs as well as collateral circulation in the anterior wall of the chest. Histological examination of tissue from mediastinum revealed a granulomatous reaction with microabscesses surrounded by eosinophilic amorphous material and with broad hyphae in the center. Culture was not performed because a preliminary diagnosis of nonHodgkin's malignant lymphoma was made. Surgical correction of the obstructed area was performed and the patient was sucessfully treated with potassium iodide. The authors propose that mediastinal entomoph thoromycosis must be considered in the differential diagnosis of diseases causing superior vena cava syndrome in tropical and sub-tropical regions. This case enlarges the spectrum of clinical manifestations of the zigomycosis caused by Entomoph-thoraceae.

Pulmonary cavities colonized by actinomycetes: report of six cases

Six cases of a cavitary pulmonary ball formed by Actinomycetes are reported. They were observed in the state of Bahia, Brazil. All patients complained of cough and hemoptysis and the pathological study showed bronchiectasis and small cavities in the lungs. The lesions contained micro-colonies of Actinomyces, identified by morphology, staining properties and culture in two cases (thioglycolate media). In the six patients the disease was limited to the lungs. In one patient grains were found, within micro-abscesses in the surrounding parenchyma. Probably the invasion occurred due to ulceration of bronchial mucosa that was covered by granulation tissue. The author suggests that as in nocardiosis actinomycosys may have an invasive form, a saprophytic one may and colonize pulmonary cavities.

Isolation of Leishmania sp. from aqueous humor of a patient with cutaneous disseminated leishmaniasis and bilateral iridocyclitis (preliminary report)

The Authors report an uncommon case of leishmaniasis with disseminated cutaneous lesions, systemic manifestations and ocular involvement, the latter being characterized by bilateral nongranulomatous iridocyclitis. The severity of the oph-thalmologic lesions and its unresponsiveness to therapy (in spite of satisfactory regression of both systemic and cutaneous manifestations) lead to a needle aspiration of the anterior eye chamber, content. From this material Leishmania sp was isolated. To our knowledge this is the first time that Leishmania has been shown into the ocular globe.
