Contribuição do origami para a exploração de conteúdos de geometria no ensino básico: propostas de tarefas

A arte de dobrar papel teve origem na China no século I ou II d.C., e difundiu-se pelo Japão no século VI. Esta arte milenar tem cativado a atenção dos estudiosos ao longo de séculos. Inicialmente ligada ao culto religioso, adoptada posteriormente pelos samurais como entretenimento, é hoje mundialmente aceite como uma arte. Transmitido de mães para filhas durante gerações, foi no século XIX, pela mão do pedagogo Frõebel, introduzido no currículo escolar alemão, sendo desde então considerado por muitos como um instrumento primordial na aquisição de conhecimentos, especialmente na área a geometria e por outros um elemento básico de interdisciplinaridade. Este trabalho pretende demonstrar as potencialidades do Origami como instrumento essencial nas diversas áreas curriculares, especialmente no estudo de conceitos matemáticos, nomeadamente no âmbito da geometria e a sua inclusão no currículo escolar. O uso do Origami na sala de aula inspira curiosidade e motiva a criatividade. ABSTRACT: The art of paper folding arose in China during the first or second century A.D. By the sixth century, it had spread to Japan. This millenary art got the scientific community's attention for centuries. At the beginning, folding was associated with a ceremonial act, later on it was use by Samurais as entertainment, and today it is accepted as an art by all. Transmitted from mothers to children during generations, it was introduced by Frõebel in the German curriculum and since then has been considered by some as an instrument for teaching basic geometry and by others as essential in interdisciplinary concepts. With this work we would like to show the Origami potentialities as an instrument connecting different curriculum areas, especially in mathematics, particularly in geometry and his inclusion in education curriculum. The use of Origami in the classroom helps children to obtain and consolidate basic concepts and inspire curiosity and promote their creativity.

Descrição do ciclo gametogênico do ouriço-branco, Tripneustes ventricosus (Lamarck, 1816), no Arquipélago de Fernando de Noronha PE, Brasil

Sea urchins are common benthic organisms on coastal ecosystems of tropical and temperate shallow waters. The impact of sea urchins populations in shore communities is density-dependent, and therefore, knowledge of the life history of these animals is important to understand these interactions. Between 2000 and 2005 a population boom of Tripneustes ventricosus was observed in the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago. In 2004 a research program was started to monitor the population dynamics of T. ventricosus in the archipelago, when it noted a lack of basic information on the biology and reproduction of this species, despite its broad geographic distribution and economic importance in parts of its occurrence. In this context, this work focuses on the reproductive biology of T. ventricosus with emphasis on the description of the gametogenic stages. Between December 2006 and July 2007, ten urchins were collected by snorkeling in two sites of the archipelago, totaling 120 individuals. Gametogenic stages were described for both sexes through microscopic analysis, and were defined as: Recovery, Growing, Premature, Mature and Spawning. Results showed increasing in Gonad index throughout of months of sampling and suggest that the reproductive cycle of the species in the archipelago is annual

Programas de fidelização – Caso Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & SPA

O setor do turismo tem vindo a assumir uma posição cada vez mais fulcral no desenvolvimento de Portugal, apresentando em 2014 resultados surpreendentes, sendo classificado como o melhor ano de sempre para o turismo português. A região do Algarve continua a ser um dos destinos mais impulsionadores deste resultado a nível nacional, sendo a ativa procura do Turismo de “Sol e Praia” a principal a razão do fluxo turístico registado no Algarve Litoral. A sazonalidade associada a este tipo de turismo apresenta valores representativos, sendo cada vez mais necessária a intervenção das forças governamentais e a implementação de estratégias locais por parte dos hotéis que exploram este segmento turístico. O atual relatório tem como intuito e principal base a descrição e análise das estratégias de gestão e operacionais da unidade hoteleira Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, resort de 5 estrelas, localizado em Vilamoura, gerida pela cadeia hoteleira Hilton Worldwide, através da sua marca Hilton Hotels & Resorts. A análise foi desenvolvida através da observação participante dos departamentos operacionais e gestão, na sequência do estágio curricular, que teve a duração de 10 meses, durante o segundo ano de mestrado de Gestão e Direção Hoteleira. O estágio em destaque dividiu-se em 3 fases, com passagens entre o departamento de reservas e o departamento de marketing dos hotéis Hilton Vilamoura e Conrad Algarve, apresentando a descrição das principais tarefas desenvolvidas, bem como análises críticas finais das diferentes fases do estágio nos dois hotéis. A última fase do estágio corresponde ao estágio no departamento de marketing do hotel Hilton Vilamoura, responsável pelas ações operacionais e gestão de marketing. Com base na análise da realidade atual do destino Algarve, dos valores da marca Hilton e da necessidade de desenvolvimento e promoção do Hilton Vilamoura em época baixa enquadra-se o desafio proposto: um programa de fidelização local apelidado de Club H20. O propósito do programa de fidelização Club H20 surge com o objetivo de promover a unidade hoteleira a nível local, fortalecendo a relação entre a mesma e a comunidade local, alavancando o investimento do turismo residencial e da população local no investimento, desenvolvimento e sustentabilidade da propriedade Hilton Vilamoura.

Relatório de Estágio Vila Galé Marés, Brasil

O presente relatório tem com objetivo principal a descrição e análise do estágio de nove meses realizado entre setembro de 2014 a junho de 2015, no hotel Vila Galé Marés, localizado em Guarajuba (Salvador da Baia) no Brasil, bem como a proposta de implementação de estratégias a nível melhoramento da execução dos serviços nos vários departamentos do hotel. O estágio consistiu pela passagem por todos os departamentos do hotel sendo eles: Restaurante e Bar; Cozinha; Receção; Animação; Housekeeping; Economato; Central de Reservas; Grupos e Eventos; Recursos Humanos e Gerência Geral. Em que através da observação e participação no dia-a-dia de cada um deles, foi possível descrever as principais tarefas desempenhadas e correspondente análise crítica, apresentando os pontos positivos e os pontos a serem melhorados nos respetivos departamentos. Com base na experiência vivida no decorrer do estágio, identificou-se que a falta de habilidade e rigor para executar os serviços de uma forma correta pode ser um fator que não promove devidamente a qualidade do hotel. Neste sentido, criou-se uma proposta de procedimentos operacionais padrão (POP’s) com o intuito de contribuir para a qualidade do serviço no Vila Galé Marés.

Relatório de estágio no departamento comercial e de marketing do Hotel Cascais Miragem

O Relatório apresentado retrata os nove meses de estágio vividos no Grupo José Cristóvão, mais concretamente no Hotel Cascais Miragem. Repartidos por quatro capítulos, este relatório apresenta a nível teórico e posteriormente a nível prático a experiência deste mesmo estágio realizado num departamento Comercial e de Marketing. Primeiramente, é feita um enquadramento teórico que aborda os temas mais relevantes para as atividades e tarefas realizadas ao longo do estágio, que são as características específicas da prestação de serviços integrada no Marketing de Experiências, o que é o branding e qual a sua relevância numa boa estratégia de marketing, o papel do branding interno no sucesso de um hotel, a importância da lealdade no setor turístico e, por fim, o papel dos media sociais para o Marketing Turístico. No segundo capítulo é feita uma caracterização do meio em que se insere o Hotel Cascais Miragem, e posteriormente uma contextualização do Grupo em que o hotel se insere, a descrição do próprio hotel e dos respetivos serviços, do departamento e, por fim, uma análise às diferentes estratégias de marketing desenvolvidas pela empresa. No terceiro capítulo é feito um resumo das principais tarefas realizadas durante o estágio de nove meses, havendo um destaque maior para quatro principais atividades mais diretamente relacionadas com o Marketing e a Promoção. Por fim, é feita uma análise crítica ao trabalho que efetuei durante o período de estágio, mas também à estrutura e à estratégia de Marketing desenvolvida pelo hotel. Com este relatório será possível obter noções básicas e fundamentais do modo de funcionamento de um departamento Comercial e de Marketing e as tarefas inerentes ao mesmo.

A gestão de recursos humanos numa organização de saúde

A Gestão de Recursos Humanos é uma área que nos últimos anos se tem vindo a destacar, possibilitando uma empresa a prosperar ou não. Assim, desde que as estratégias organizacionais sofreram uma redefinição, os recursos humanos das empresas são vistos como uma fonte de vantagem competitiva. Este Trabalho Final de Mestrado faz uma descrição das atividades desenvolvidas, segundo o plano elaborado, no estágio académico durante 6 meses, com vista ao desenvolvimento pessoal, mas acima de tudo profissional e de experiência na área dos Recursos Humanos, através do qual se visa a aquisição e o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos e aptidões de prática organizacional numa organização de saúde. A metodologia utilizada foi do tipo observação participante e a análise da teoria para melhor entender e agir diligentemente nas tarefas em que se participa. O trabalho final seguirá a forma de um Relatório de Estágio e consequentes críticas que possam ter surgido durante o mesmo; Abstract: The Human Resources Management in a Health Organization The Human Resource Management is an area that in recent years has emphasized, enabling a company to prosper or not. So, since the organizational strategies suffered a redefinition, human resources companies are seen as a source of competitive advantage. This Master Final Work is a description of activities, according to the plan drawn up in the academic internship for 6 months with a view to personal development, but above all professional and experience in the field of Human Resources, through which it aims the acquisition and development of knowledge and skills of organizational practice in a healthcare organization. The methodology used was the type participant observation and analysis of the theory to better understand and act diligently on the tasks in which they participate. The final work will follow the form of an internship report and subsequent criticism that may have arisen in the meantime.

Delimitação da Reserva Ecológica Nacional para 9 municípios do Alto Alentejo – Execução Técnica dos Trabalhos / Coordenação Científica - Relatório Final

O relatório que se apresenta descreve as tarefas efetuadas no âmbito do cumprimento do contrato celebrado relativo à aquisição de serviços para “Delimitação da Reserva Ecológica Nacional para 9 municípios do Alto Alentejo – Execução Técnica dos Trabalhos”, levadas a cabo pela empresa Mobnetics, Sistemas de Informação Lda., bem como dá cumprimento ao contrato relativo à aquisição de serviços para “Delimitação da Reserva Ecológica Nacional para 9 municípios do Alto Alentejo – Coordenação Científica”, da Responsabilidade da equipa da Universidade de Évora. O presente relatório contém a descrição metodológica, os resultados obtidos e uma ilustração de um conjunto de elementos cartográficos (cujas bases informativas digitais constituem anexo a este documento), dos “Elementos Fundamentais” elaborados à escala 1:25.000:  Carta de bacias hidrográficas com área superior a 3,5 km2;  Carta de lagoas e lagos e respetivos leitos, margens e faixas de proteção;  Carta de albufeiras e respetiva faixa de proteção, no mínimo de 100m de largura;  Carta de áreas estratégicas de proteção e recarga de aquíferos;  Carta de zonas ameaçadas pelas cheias;  Carta de áreas de elevado risco de erosão hídrica do solo;  Carta de áreas de instabilidade de vertentes. Os elementos cartográficos foram produzidos de acordo com o estabelecido na Resolução do Conselho de Ministros n.º 81/2012, de 3 de outubro, e Declaração de Retificação n.º 71/2012, de 30 de novembro, e em conformidade com os termos técnicos da proposta adjudicada.

A pilot study of topiramate in children with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome

We conducted an open, add-on study with topiramate (TPM) as adjunctive therapy in Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS), to assess the long-term efficacy and safety and to evaluate quality of life (QL) measurements in the chronic use of TPM. We studied 19 patients (11 male; age ranging from 4 to 14 years) with uncontrolled seizures receiving 2-3 anti-epileptic drugs. Patients were followed up to 36 months of treatment. A questionnaire was used to query parents about QL. Seven patients completed the study at 36 months and seizure frequency was reduced > 75% in 4, and < 50% in 3 patients. Two children became seizure free for more than 24 months. Most side effects were CNS related, with the most frequent being somnolence and anorexia. These were generally transient. One patient dropped-out due to powder in the urine. None of the patients required hospitalization. At 36 months, patients' alertness (2/7), interaction with environment (5/7), ability to perform daily activities (5/7), and verbal performance (6/7) improved on TPM. We conclude that TPM may be useful as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of LGS. The efficacy of TPM was maintained in long-term treatment in more than 40% of patients, long term safety was confirmed and QL improved on TPM.

Intercâmbios acadêmicos internacionais: bolsas Capes, CNPq e Fapesp

This article is part of a study considering the growing importance of the international transit of people, knowledge, and practices in the schooling and professional education processes of some social segments. Considering the public funds made available by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - Capes -, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development - CNPq - and the State of São Paulo Research Foundation - Fapesp - to support researchers' fellowships abroad, aming to improve research and investments on Science and Technology on the context of international exchanges, we have dedicated this article to the preliminary description and analysis of the database of fellows funded abroad by these research agencies from 1970 to 2000. The movement of flows based on the quantitative methodology of the correlation of variables draws the trends of international academic exchange programs in the three research institutions and in the different areas of knowledge, and we intend to analyse them taking into account the scientific and technological development policies adopted by Brazilian State on the period.

Caracterização morfológica das sementes e plântulas de seis espécies invasoras do gênero Solanum L

Morphological caracterization of the seeds and seedlings of six weed especies of the genus Solanum L. The seeds of the genus Solanum are very similar, however, the association of their external characteristics with the anatomical features, such as hilum shape, the texture and the type of the seed coat sculptures, as well as the curved (circulated or coiled) shape of the embryo, are parameters of great importance in the taxonomical identification at the species level. It is are presented the morphological descriptions of the genus Solanum and a more detailed description of each studied species in terms of seed and seedling structures, including illustrations and taxonomical keys for the identification of Solanum aculeatissimum Jacq., S. americanum Mill., S. ciliatum Lam., S. sisymbriifolium Lam., S. sordidum Sendt. e S. viarum Dunal. There are also indications of the common names, the type of reproduction and dispersion, the crops in which the species is considered as a weed and the agricultural seeds in which it is found as a weed seed.

Compreensão da sexualidade por jovens com diagnóstico de deficiência intelectual

The study describes the comprehension of concepts about sexuality by youths diagnosed with intellectual deficiency, during classes on sexual education. The analysis of selected episodes from video transcriptions of five classes (Human Body, Kiss, Flirting, Coitus, Condom/STD) showed: the appropriation and understanding of concepts, partial difficulties of comprehension, and inhibition. The analysis of the transcripts indicated that all students were attentive to the classes, participated in the proposed tasks, and answered the questions. The observed signs of inhibition and the expression of values were similar to those observed in other youngsters, indicating the appropriation of culturally established values. The obtained evidences contrast with mythical visions related to sexuality in these youngsters, and suggest more studies about their competences.

Formas de Funcionalismo na Sintaxe

This article shows that the term functionalism, very often understood as a single or uniform approach in linguistics, has to be understood in its different perspectives. I start by presenting an opposing conception similar to the I-language vs E-language in Chomsky (1986). As in the latter conception , language can be understood as an abstract model of a mind internal mechanism responsible for language production and perception or, as in the former one, it can be the description of the external use of language. Also like with formalists , there are functionalists who look for cross-linguistic variation (and universals of language use) and functionalists who look for language internal variation. It is also shown that functionalists can differ in the extent to which social variables are considered in the explanation of linguistic form.

A metalinguagem como lugar da interpretação: terminologia e bases de dados informatizadas

The main objective of this work is to discuss the notion of metalanguage concerning the use of thesaurus (symbols systems, functions indicators, descriptors) utilized by indexers for article representation in computerized bibliographical databases. Our corpus comprises article abstracts and bibliographical database descriptors LILACS (Literatura Latino-Americana em Ciências da Saúde) and SOCIOFILE Sociological Abstracts. We aim at clarifying the effects of subjectivity in the functioning of indexing taking account the grounds for interpretation that allow different meanings.
