With the emergence of large-volume and high-speed streaming data, the recent techniques for stream mining of CFIpsilas (closed frequent itemsets) will become inefficient. When concept drift occurs at a slow rate in high speed data streams, the rate of change of information across different sliding windows will be negligible. So, the user wonpsilat be devoid of change in information if we slide window by multiple transactions at a time. Therefore, we propose a novel approach for mining CFIpsilas cumulatively by making sliding width(ges1) over high speed data streams. However, it is nontrivial to mine CFIpsilas cumulatively over stream, because such growth may lead to the generation of exponential number of candidates for closure checking. In this study, we develop an efficient algorithm, stream-close, for mining CFIpsilas over stream by exploring some interesting properties. Our performance study reveals that stream-close achieves good scalability and has promising results.

A waste fungal biomass containing killed cells of Aspergillus niger was efficiently used in the removal of toxic metal ions such as nickel, calcium, iron and chromium from aqueous solutions. The role of different parameters such as initial metal ion concentration, solution pH and biomass concentration on biosorption capacity was established. The maximum metal uptake was found to be dependent on solution pH and increased with biomass loading upto 10g/L. The adsorption densities for various metal ions could be arranged as Ca>Cr (III)>Ni>Fe>Cr (VI). The effect of the presence of various metal ions in binary, ternary and quaternary combinations on biosorption was also assessed. Ni uptake was significantly affected, while that of Cr (VI) the least, in the presence of other metal ions. Uptake of base metals from an industrial cyanide effluent was studied using different species of fungi such as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus terreus and Penicillium funiculosum and yeast such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae which were isolated from a gold mine. Traces of gold present in the cyanide effluent could be efficiently recovered. Among the four base metal contaminants present in the cyanide effluent, zinc was found to be most efficiently biosorbed, followed by iron, copper and lead. The role of both living and dead biomass on biosorption was distinguished and probable mechanisms illustrated.

Song-selection and mood are interdependent. If we capture a song’s sentiment, we can determine the mood of the listener, which can serve as a basis for recommendation systems. Songs are generally classified according to genres, which don’t entirely reflect sentiments. Thus, we require an unsupervised scheme to mine them. Sentiments are classified into either two (positive/negative) or multiple (happy/angry/sad/...) classes, depending on the application. We are interested in analyzing the feelings invoked by a song, involving multi-class sentiments. To mine the hidden sentimental structure behind a song, in terms of “topics”, we consider its lyrics and use Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). Each song is a mixture of moods. Topics mined by LDA can represent moods. Thus we get a scheme of collecting similar-mood songs. For validation, we use a dataset of songs containing 6 moods annotated by users of a particular website.

In today's API-rich world, programmer productivity depends heavily on the programmer's ability to discover the required APIs. In this paper, we present a technique and tool, called MATHFINDER, to discover APIs for mathematical computations by mining unit tests of API methods. Given a math expression, MATHFINDER synthesizes pseudo-code to compute the expression by mapping its subexpressions to API method calls. For each subexpression, MATHFINDER searches for a method such that there is a mapping between method inputs and variables of the subexpression. The subexpression, when evaluated on the test inputs of the method under this mapping, should produce results that match the method output on a large number of tests. We implemented MATHFINDER as an Eclipse plugin for discovery of third-party Java APIs and performed a user study to evaluate its effectiveness. In the study, the use of MATHFINDER resulted in a 2x improvement in programmer productivity. In 96% of the subexpressions queried for in the study, MATHFINDER retrieved the desired API methods as the top-most result. The top-most pseudo-code snippet to implement the entire expression was correct in 93% of the cases. Since the number of methods and unit tests to mine could be large in practice, we also implement MATHFINDER in a MapReduce framework and evaluate its scalability and response time.

The disclosure of information and its misuse in Privacy Preserving Data Mining (PPDM) systems is a concern to the parties involved. In PPDM systems data is available amongst multiple parties collaborating to achieve cumulative mining accuracy. The vertically partitioned data available with the parties involved cannot provide accurate mining results when compared to the collaborative mining results. To overcome the privacy issue in data disclosure this paper describes a Key Distribution-Less Privacy Preserving Data Mining (KDLPPDM) system in which the publication of local association rules generated by the parties is published. The association rules are securely combined to form the combined rule set using the Commutative RSA algorithm. The combined rule sets established are used to classify or mine the data. The results discussed in this paper compare the accuracy of the rules generated using the C4. 5 based KDLPPDM system and the CS. 0 based KDLPPDM system using receiver operating characteristics curves (ROC).

分析了潘洛铁矿露天矿滑坡灾害发生发展的特征,得出该滑坡是一个动态的、多层次的复合型滑坡;找出了影响该边坡稳定的主要因素是大气降雨和采矿切割坡脚;根据这些影响因素和滑坡发展变化规律,提出了科学合理的滑坡治理方案,即动态的综合治理方案.经现场实施后,通过滑坡监测数据表明,该滑坡得到了彻底根治.

A slope failure is developed due to progressive external loads and deteriorations of slope geomaterials, thus forming a progressive and dynamic development and occurrence of landslides. Site geological properties and other active factors such as hydrodynamic load and human activities are complex and usually unknown, thus this dynamic development and occurrence of landslides can only be understood through the progressive accumulation of knowledge on the landslides. For such a progressive process, this paper proposes a dynamic comprehensive control method for landslide control. This control method takes full advantage of updated monitoring data and site investigations of landslides, and emphasizes the implementation of possible measures for landslide control at reasonable stages and in different groups. These measures are to prevent the occurrence of a landslide disaster. As a case study, a landslide project at the Panluo open-pit iron mine is analyzed to illustrate this dynamic comprehensive control method.

Based on the broken characteristics about earthquake to tailings dams, the earthquake stability analysis methods for tailings dams are introduced. Taking fine tailings dam in Longdu Tailings Pool as an example, the stability of the dam with various situations while earthquake with seven magnitude takes place there. The results can be used by Longdu Mine for tailings pool safety management.

露天矿边坡属于人工边坡,它的形成不仅时间长,而且一直处于动态过程中.露天矿滑坡在一定范围内是允许的,滑坡治理的目的是保证矿山在开采期限内安全采出设计境界内的矿石.基于这些特征,在文中提出了适合露天矿滑坡治理的新方法-动态治理法及其可行性,并以潘洛铁矿露天矿滑坡灾害治理为例,对该方法的应用进行了论述.可为露天矿滑坡治理所借鉴.

The investment prospects of fish farming in the Jos-Plateau, Nigeria, strategically located in about the centre of the country are discussed with special reference to its numerous abandoned mine lakes and the tripartite role of government, universities and individuals. In the Jos-Plateau, about 17.0 km super(2) is covered by these disused mine lakes, making up about 20-30% of the area covered. In such enterprise, problems commonly encountered, like population growth and government planning policies, fish demand and supply, manpower, feed and seed availability, preservation, processing and marketing are discussed. Inspite of these, prospects still abound with regards to land-use of these numerous disused mine lakes and feed availability based on the principles of using both industrial and farm by-products for fish culture, processing and marketing. These potentials, if properly harnessed, will help to supplement the protein insufficiency in the diet of the populace. In this regard, proposals on the economics of production and sales, strategies for achieving these development goals, cost-benefit analysis and their implications in further development of fish culture are discussed

One of the most controversial inquiries in academic writing is whether it is admissible to use first person pronouns in a scientific paper or not. Many professors discourage their students from using them, rather favoring a more passive tone, and thus causing novices to avoid inserting themselves into their texts in an expert-like manner. Abundant research, however, has recently attested that negotiation of identity is plausible in academic prose, and there is no need for a paper to be void of an authorial identity. Because in the course of the English Studies Degree we have received opposing prompts in the use of I, the aim of this dissertation is to throw some light upon this vexed issue. To this end, I compiled a corpus of 16 Research Articles (RAs) that comprises two sub-corpora, one featuring Linguistics RAs and the other one Literature RAs, and each, in turn, consists of articles written by American and British authors. I then searched for real occurrences of I, me, my, mine, we, us, our and ours, and studied their frequency, rhetorical functions and distribution along each paper. The results obtained certainly show that academic writing is no longer the faceless prose that it used to be, for I is highly used in both disciplines and varieties of English. Concerning functions, the most typically used roles were the use of I to take credit for the writer’s research process, and also those involving plural forms. With respect to the spatial disposition, all sections welcomed first person pronouns, but the Method and the Results/Discussion sections seem to stimulate their appearance. On the basis of these findings, I suggest that an L2 writing pedagogy that is mindful not only of the language proficiency, but also of the students’ own identity may have a beneficial effect on the composition of their texts.

No presente trabalho foram utilizados modelos de classificação para minerar dados relacionados à aprendizagem de Matemática e ao perfil de professores do ensino fundamental. Mais especificamente, foram abordados os fatores referentes aos educadores do Estado do Rio de Janeiro que influenciam positivamente e negativamente no desempenho dos alunos do 9 ano do ensino básico nas provas de Matemática. Os dados utilizados para extrair estas informações são disponibilizados pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira que avalia o sistema educacional brasileiro em diversos níveis e modalidades de ensino, incluindo a Educação Básica, cuja avaliação, que foi foco deste estudo, é realizada pela Prova Brasil. A partir desta base, foi aplicado o processo de Descoberta de Conhecimento em Bancos de Dados (KDD - Knowledge Discovery in Databases), composto das etapas de preparação, mineração e pós-processamento dos dados. Os padrões foram extraídos dos modelos de classificação gerados pelas técnicas árvore de decisão, indução de regras e classificadores Bayesianos, cujos algoritmos estão implementados no software Weka (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis). Além disso, foram aplicados métodos de grupos e uma metodologia para tornar as classes uniformemente distribuídas, afim de melhorar a precisão dos modelos obtidos. Os resultados apresentaram importantes fatores que contribuem para o ensino-aprendizagem de Matemática, assim como evidenciaram aspectos que comprometem negativamente o desempenho dos discentes. Por fim, os resultados extraídos fornecem ao educador e elaborador de políticas públicas fatores para uma análise que os auxiliem em posteriores tomadas de decisão.

O ponto crucial desse trabalho, certamente, são as condições de possibilidades das relações entre o magistério e a educação, arguindo tanto o magistério como a educação sobre o sentido do não-sentido de um currículo. Minha tese é que, analisadas as possibilidades da subjetividade, a autodeterminação é inexequível, isto é, é preciso incluir o outro no eu e essa inclusão pressupõe penetrar as searas do imprevisto. Se assim o é, a subjetividade consiste na responsabilidade, na ação de responder a esse outro que não sou eu, mas que constitui também o eu. Responder ao outro obnubila o eu enquanto singularidade, não há espaço para essa singularidade, portanto ser é imprevisível. Isso significa que é vão o trabalho de tentar planejar a construção do eu (o sujeito, o cidadão) do outro no tempo. O conhecimento, a herança, é também um outro a que se deve responder e cujas respostas produzirão outros outros. O currículo é um outro a que se deve responder, e isso vale tanto para aquele que seleciona quanto para aquele a quem se destina a coleção. Assim sendo, não há um sentido possível para um currículo. O encontro com esse outro selecionado em meio a herança que, por si só é também outro, desmantela o sentido previsto posto que é imprevista a ação da responsabilidade.Resta-nos aderir à vontade de potência, ao moto contínuo da responsabilidade ante o imprevisto. Mergulhar nesse jogo que, distante de uma ação racional, segue um processo de êxtase e não de vertigem ante o conhecimento. Resta-nos deslizar as políticas de governo para as de estado, onde a educação escolar seja vista como investimento não-útil, como um jogo que rompe as bordas dos esquemas dentro-fora, interior-exterior, aqui-ali, meu-teu. Como um processo onde o planejamento futuro é impossível, já que é puro imprevisto. A presente tese não se configura como a defesa de uma ideia, mas como uma adesão, e consequente reflexão, a uma perspectiva de entendimento do que venha ser currículo, prática docente e conhecimento, no recorte da educação escolar, independente do segmento.
