Modeling and identification of fertility maps using artificial neural networks

The application of agricultural fertilizers using variable rates along the field can be made through fertility maps previously elaborated or through real-time sensors. In most of the cases applies maps previously elaborated. These maps are identified from analyzes done in soil samples collected regularly (a sample for each field cell) or irregularly along the field. At the moment, mathematical interpolation methods such as nearest neighbor, local average, weighted inverse distance, contouring and kriging are used for predicting the variables involved with elaboration of fertility maps. However, some of these methods present deficiencies that can generate different fertility maps for a same data set. Moreover, such methods can generate inprecise maps to be used in precision farming. In this paper, artificial neural networks have been applied for elaboration and identification of precise fertility maps which can reduce the production costs and environmental impacts.

Electromyographic validation of the trapezius and serratus anterior muscles in military press exercises with open grip.

It was studied the trapezius muscle and serratus anterior muscle in 24 male volunteers using a 2-channel TECA TE 4 electromyograph and Hewlett Packard surface electrodes, during the execution of four different modalities of military press exercises with open grip. The results showed that TS acted significantly in the modalities standing and sitting press behind neck, while SI acted in all the modalities, i.e., standing and sitting press behind neck and forward, justifying their inclusion as basic exercises for physical conditioning programmes.

Electromyographic activity of the trapezius muscle and serratus anterior muscle was analysed in 4 different modalities of military press exercises, each of them with 2 grips: open and middle. It was analyzed 24 male volunteers using a 2-channel TECA TE 4 electromyograph and Hewlett Packard surface electrodes. The TS and SI muscles acted with high and very high activity in all the modalities of military press exercises. Statistically, they did not show significative difference in the performance of the exercises with open and middle grip, justifying the inclusion of this group of exercises with both grips for the physical conditioning programmes.

A Bayesian approach for constructing genetic maps when markers are miscoded

The advent of molecular markers has created opportunities for a better understanding of quantitative inheritance and for developing novel strategies for genetic improvement of agricultural species, using information on quantitative trait loci (QTL). A QTL analysis relies on accurate genetic marker maps. At present, most statistical methods used for map construction ignore the fact that molecular data may be read with error. Often, however, there is ambiguity about some marker genotypes. A Bayesian MCMC approach for inferences about a genetic marker map when random miscoding of genotypes occurs is presented, and simulated and real data sets are analyzed. The results suggest that unless there is strong reason to believe that genotypes are ascertained without error, the proposed approach provides more reliable inference on the genetic map.

On the injectivity of C1 maps of the real plane

Let X : ℝ2 → ℝ2 be a C1 map. Denote by Spec(X) the set of (complex) eigenvalues of DXp when p varies in ℝ2. If there exists ε > 0 such that Spec(X) ∩ (-ε, ε) = ∅, then X is injective. Some applications of this result to the real Keller Jacobian conjecture are discussed.

It was analized the deltoid muscle anterior portion and the pectoralis major clavicular portion in 24 male volunteers using a two-channel electromyograph TECA TE 4, and Hewllet Packard surface electrodes, in 4 modalities of military press exercises with open grip. The results showed high inactivity for PMC in almost all the modalities while DA developed very high levels of action potentials in all the modalities assessed.

On stability of differential equations with piecewise constant argument using dichotomic maps

This paper deals with the study of the basic theory of existence, uniqueness and continuation of solutions of di®erential equations with piecewise constant argument. Results about asymptotic stability of the equation x(t) =-bx(t) + f(x([t])) with argu- ment [t], where [t] designates the greatest integer function, are established by means of dichotomic maps. With the objective to know the electromyographic activity normal parameters of the deltoid (anterior portion) and pectoralis major (clavicular portion) muscles in the different modalities of military press exercises with middle grip, we analyzed 24 male volunteers using a two-channel electromyograph TECA TE 4, and Hewllet Packard surface electrodes. It was observed high inactivity levels for PMC in almost all the modalities and the concentration in the active cases, mainly, in the weak potential, while DA presented very high levels of much strong action potentials in all the modalities assessed.

The deltoid (anterior portion) and pectoralis major (clavicular portion) were evaluated in several execution ways of military press exercises with open and middle grips in order to know their behavior pattern. It was analyzed 24 male volunteers, using a 2-channel TECA TE4 electromyograph and Hewllet Packard surface electrodes. It was observed that the execution variation with open and middle grips does not present any significant difference as for the demanding level neither for the pectoralis major muscle nor the deltoid muscle.

Coincidences of self-maps on Klein bottle fiber bundles over the circle

The main purpose of this work is to study coincidences of fiber-preserving self-maps over the circle S 1 for spaces which are fiberbundles over S 1 and the fiber is the Klein bottle K. The Lamination of Infinitely Renormalizable Dissipative Gap Maps: Analyticity, Holonomies and Conjugacies

Motivated by return maps near saddles for three-dimensional flows and also by return maps in the torus associated to Cherry flows, we study gap maps with derivative positive and smaller than one outside the discontinuity point. We prove that the lamination of infinitely renormalizable maps (or else maps with irrational rotation numbers) has analytic leaves in a natural subset of a Banach space of analytic maps of this kind. With maps having Hölder continuous derivative and derivative bounded away from zero, we also prove Hölder continuity of holonomies of the lamination and also of conjugacies between maps having the same combinatorics. © 2011 Springer Basel AG.
