O século XX foi marcado pelo crescimento da liderança pública feminina em diversos campos sociais, assegurando às mulheres e aos homens relações de equilíbrio e às organizações sociais, formas menos autoritárias de existir (Carreira, 2001). Nesta dimensão e na necessidade de revisão do paradigma educacional assume-se pertinente apresentar um estudo de investigação que tem como núcleo de pesquisa a Liderança Escolar no Feminino e que se teoriza como uma realidade extremamente controversa. O interesse despertado responsabiliza a experiência profissional de largos anos, no Conselho Executivo da Escola Básica dos 2º e 3º Ciclos Dr. Horácio Bento de Gouveia, como suporte referencial para o desenvolvimento de uma área envolta em tradicionais preconceitos de género e com lentos avanços que urge contextualizar. A temática não se pautou pela valorização dos pressupostos feministas do início do século passado, ainda que se deva admitir que o movimento revolucionário protagonizado pelas mulheres foi um alerta mundial para a igualdade entre os dois géneros e influenciou certamente, o papel da mulher no exercício da liderança das instituições académicas. A finalidade da escolha perspectiva-se no enquadramento a longo prazo da administração e gestão das organizações escolares, com vista a legitimar uma liderança que se coaduna com os parâmetros da modernidade, por que se entende que a condição feminina está intimamente ligada às causas da educação. Os objectivos específicos destinam-se a fazer o levantamento das práticas exercidas pelas líderes femininas, observar as semelhanças e as diferenças de actuação nas práticas da rotina escolar, analisar as atitudes comportamentais e descrever os aspectos relevantes que consubstanciam a importância das mulheres em liderança. Os recursos qualitativos aplicados geram informações valiosas que destacam as facetas das mulheres posicionadas nos respectivos cargos, justificando claramente que são portadoras de qualidades de abrangência emotiva, que enquadram a relação com o sucesso educativo e perfilam a liderança transformacional projectada para o século XXI.

Nos finais do século XX e início do século XXI ocorreram transformações sócio-económicas e culturais nas sociedades que determinaram o aparecimento de certos problemas no seio dos sistemas educativos contemporâneos. O fenómeno da mudança acelerada e da globalização fez com que os sistemas educativos actuais enfrentassem situações que reclamam adaptação constante dos indivíduos à mudança. De acordo com a literatura, há que reinventar constantemente e com criatividade a educação, o ensino, a aprendizagem, a escola. De facto, o contexto actual traz novos desafios às Organizações Educativas. Perante este cenário urge investir numa gestão/liderança capaz de definir e concretizar objectivos, capaz de influenciar positivamente os seus membros e conduzir ao sucesso. Este estudo tem como principal objectivo identificar, descrever e analisar a cultura de uma escola particular do 1º ciclo do ensino básico, com Pré-Escolar, no âmbito da sua gestão/liderança, numa perspectiva de trabalho cooperativo, e suas implicações no processo ensino/aprendizagem. Nesta investigação é utilizada a metodologia etnográfica, para a recolha e interpretação dos dados. Esta metodologia implicou a observação participante, completa por oportunidade, pelo facto da investigadora exercer a sua profissão no contexto que foi objecto de estudo. O estudo permitiu concluir que a mudança visionada pelos docentes não depende apenas das propostas imputadas pela administração educativa, mas sim quando eles próprios, reconhecem, participam e decidem conjuntamente sobre o que deve ser mudado; o trabalho cooperativo é muito mais profícuo no processo ensino e aprendizagem na medida em que permite aos alunos e professores uma visão mais ampla, uma vez que estão expostos a mais de uma opinião, e a uma maior participação e superação das dificuldades; para que as alterações aconteçam, efectivamente, em contexto escolar, não se pode ignorar o papel das Direcções, tanto no âmbito administrativo como no âmbito pedagógico.

Tendo este trabalho como objecto de estudo a personalidade do cidadão americano George Day Welsh, radicado na Madeira no início do século XIX, pretende-se caracterizar, ao longo desta dissertação, os elementos fundamentais das relações entre a Ilha da Madeira e os Estados Unidos da América, aos níveis político, económico, social e cultural, e apenas no período relativo à primeira metade do século XIX. Organizado em quatro partes fundamentais (onde não se incluem nem a apresentação inicial que se segue, nem os apêndices finais de documentos e de gravuras antigas), este estudo começa por, na primeira parte, descrever as relações de Portugal com a Inglaterra e, em particular, com os Estados Unidos da América, país de origem de George Day Welsh, não deixando também de documentar a ida de marinheiros assim como a presença de madeirenses nos Estados Unidos da América. Na segunda parte, começando a traçar o percurso biográfico de George Day Welsh, descrevem-se os seus negócios e as suas acções em alguns dos concelhos da Madeira, dando igualmente uma especial atenção ao período da Guerra Civil, às relações concorrenciais entre aquele cidadão americano e John Marsh, assim como ao papel cultural de George Welsh na Madeira. As relações familiares de Welsh na Madeira são o assunto da terceira parte, onde se focam as questões relacionados com a sua chegada à Ilha, o seu casamento, a sua descendência, e a sua proximidade em relação a outros madeirenses ilustres, como é o caso do Conde de Carvalhal. Na conclusão final desta dissertação, referem-se não só as ideias principais deste percurso de investigação como algumas pistas para aperfeiçoá-lo e completá-lo.

Droughts surfaced in 1877 as a crucial problem for the birthing Brazilian nation. Engineers, who formed the country's technical and scientific elite, took it upon themselves to study, understand and fight the problem through planned actions of intervention on space. This work, based on proposals and discussions contained in engineering magazines and reports, aims to provide elements for the comprehension of how these systematized actions against droughts, in the Iate nineteenth and early twentieth century, contributed to spatial analysis and the formation of a (then-inexistent) regional and territorial planning discipline in Brazi!. Engineers, by taking up the position of masterminds in the country's modernization, guaranteed for themselves personal economic stability, social prestige and political power. By understanding nature, either as a resource to be exploited or an adversary to national progress, they contributed to the delimitation of the region now known as the Northeast. By seeking to understand the drought phenomenon, they created knowledge about the space they sought to intervene on; by constructing their projects amid political and economical difficulty, they changed the organizational structures of cities and country in the northeast. The proposals for açudes (Iarge water reservoirs) allowed the fixation of population and the resistance against droughts; the roads - railroads and automotive roadways - connected the sertão to the capitais and the coast, speeding up help to the affected populations during droughts and allowing the circulation of goods so as to strengthen the local economies in normal rimes. The adopted practices and techniques, adapted from foreign experience and developed through trial and improvement, were consolidated as an eminently spatial intervention course, even if a theoretical body of regional or territorial planning wasn't formed in Brazil. Regional Planning proper was first applied in the country in the Northeast itself, in the 1950s, based off an economical view of reality in order to achieve development. The engineer's work prior tothat date, however, cannot be dlsconsldered. It was proved that, despite facing financial and political hurdles, engineers had a profound commitment to the problem and intended to act systematically to transform the economical and social relations in the region, in order to be victorious in their struggle against droughts

Both the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century have been characterized as a period of major political, economic, social and cultural transformations. Two of the major consequences of the political-economical crisis of the end of last century are the restructuring of capitalist production, and the consolidation of neoliberalism as a worldwide phenomenon. This new world political-economical scenario has influenced, in a dialectic way, the contemporary urban development. In that sense, "new" spatial processes and new paradigms in both urban management and urban planning have gained shape. In this context of urban transformations, the central areas of western cities, also known as historic centers, are being increasingly (re)valued. Since the Second World War, the historic centers urban areas which have great infrastructure and symbolic relevance had been undergoing a process of evasion of population and activities, undeniably linked to the neglect of government authorities. However, in recent decades, the question of historic centers rehabilitation has acquired a growing interest, academically and in political agendas. The object of this dissertation is to focus on how the government of each Brazil and Portugal has dealt with the issue of historic center rehabilitation through programs of urban rehabilitation

Since the 1970s, the world observes the fragmentation, hybridity, plurality and miscegenation that are taking over the scenic arts. The contemporary poetry feels free of the classical rules; theater no longer obeys the requirements of the poetic "manuals"; the rigid boundaries between genres disappears; artists cease to represent to the public to talk with him. In the last decades of twentieth century and in the twenty-first century, emerges the laughable phenomenon of One-man Show in the brazilian scene, object of this research, as a result of this evolution of the performing arts. It is a form of theater that emerged in the brazilian context, snatching public attention in alternative spaces, theaters and, as it should be, also on the Internet, often confused with the Stand-up Comedy. It is necessary a research that delimitate and pursue to identify the essential characteristics of the brazilian One- Man Show, not only by the absence of theoretical references concerning this, but also to understand some aspects of the brazilian scene and the situation of laughter and comedy in it. In the first chapter, a discussion about comedy and laughter in classical antiquity is presented, using the writings of Plato and Aristotle as a starting point; in the second, some of the main classical theories of laughter are reviewed, attempting to identify the general characteristics that enable to understand the construction of the comedy; the third chapter generally dicusses about the moment of the brazilian theatrical scene in which emerges the One-man Show; and in the fourth chapter, there is an explanation about this phenomenon and a description of the practical exercise titled Experimento One-person Show: Damas

The research that led to this dissertation adopted a set of scenic/ideological aspects inherent to the productions of the Culture Industry as its object of research. The intellectual output of Theodor W. Adorno and Max Horkheimer underscored the approaches on this subject, since it provides the same set of scenic/ideological features to be explored because, according to the authors, scenes produced by the culture industry are linked to the dominant ideology, since they act in favor of maintaining the status quo. The first objective was the definition this set of features inherent to the scene produced by the culture industry, through the exploration of literature produced by Adorno and Horkheimer, so it was possible to define a set composed of nine elements: Construction of characters as characteristic types; Stereotypes; Naturalization of Stereotyped language; Simplistic playwriting; Reuse dramatic formula; Love and sexuality as themes of plots; Utilization of tragic element; Objetive representation; Approximation of fiction and reality. The second goal was the analysis of scene produced by the culture industry nowadays, so that it was possible to verify if any scenic/ideological aspects indicated by Adorno and Horkheimer in the mid-twentieth century were present among the productions from this beginning of the twenty-first century. Through the analysis of three soap operas produced in Brazil in 2012, it was found that the nine scenic/ideological aspects as indicated by Adorno and Horkheimer appeared in the observed productions. It investigates the perception of the public space in the city of Natal. It approaches, therefore apprehension forms, entails and experiences, in the formalization in the way of seeing, to live and to interact with that part of the urban territoriality. With that perspective, they were focalized, especially, three periods lived in Natal: the first two decades of the century XX, the beginning of the forties, also of the previous century, and the scenery with which that city comes at the present time. With that direction, it puts back in focus, and for reflection, not just an universe that makes possible the people to interact, independent of the individual will of each one, but also the importance of that interaction for the social and political life of the city and for the formation of a wider and interactive vision of the people with yours surroundings

As substâncias entorpecentes acompanham a humanidade desde o início da civilização. No entanto, várias delas foram consideradas proscritas ao longo do tempo. Seu combate foi inaugurado na comunidade internacional a partir do começo do século XX. No início, tinha o condão eminentemente moral, porquanto a proibição encerrava, por princípio, a proteção da ética ameaçada pelo padrão desviado do consumo de estupefacientes. Na década de 1970, a guerra contra as drogas, expressão cunhada nesse período, evoluiu para se tornar o meio pelo qual o consumo seria mitigado. Dez anos mais tarde, ante à impossibilidade de sucumbir o narcotráfico, passou a ser um fim em si mesma o novo argumento para os esforços militares dos Estados Unidos da América. A criminalização das substâncias entorpecentes consideradas ilícitas é fundamento jurídico da guerra contra as drogas. Esse modelo proibicionista encontra argumento no direito penal do inimigo, segundo o qual o Estado pode, em situações que exponham a coletividade a grave perigo, negar à determinada categoria de criminosos (os inimigos) as garantias inerentes ao direito penal, cabendo-lhes apenas a coação estatal. Mesmo tendo consumido trilhões de dólares, encarcerado aos milhões e custado a vida de milhares de pessoas, pode-se dizer que a guerra contra as drogas não reduziu a oferta e o consumo de substâncias entorpecentes consideradas ilícitas, nem mitigou os danos delas decorrentes pelo contrário, tornou-se um problema de segurança pública. Assim, impõe-se a verificação da constitucionalidade da norma penal que fundamenta a guerra contra as drogas, sob ponderação do princípio da proporcionalidade. Referido postulado cobra que a norma seja adequada, cumprindo a finalidade pretendida, necessária, não havendo meio menos gravoso à obtenção do mesmo fim, e proporcional, estrito senso, que a sanção imposta ao indivíduo seja equivalente ao dano que se quis prevenir. Em matéria penal há de se incluir um outro elemento, a ponderar se as consequências da proibição em matéria penal, por si só, são mais graves que os consectários dos fatos que se pretendem proibir - exige-se que a lei seja socialmente menos ofensiva. A norma penal que fundamenta a guerra contra as drogas não se mostrou hábil a mitigar os danos sociais delas decorrentes sendo, por isso, inadequada. Existem meios alternativos à criminalização mais eficientes à esse objetivo, pelo que se faz desnecessária. Na medida em que estupefacientes mais nocivos à coletividade são considerados lícitos, a criminalização de drogas menos danosas se mostra desproporcional. E, uma vez que dela resultam graves danos à sociedade, não atende ao critério da menor ofensividade social. É, portanto, inconstitucional

Cette recherche est ancrée dans les racines de la pédagogie de Célestin Freinet, un des plus importants éducateurs du XXème siècle, car ses propositions naissaient de la réalité de l élève lequel était, de ce fait, valorisé. Au début de ses recherches, Freinet s est rendu compte que pour pouvoir édifier une école qui, effectivement, atteigne les classes populaires, il devrait réaliser des changements dans le milieu scolaire. Notre travail le principe de coopération dans les actions développées par le professeur et ses élèves dans le quotidien de la salle de classe. Les décisions pour la réalisation de ce travail ont exigé, de notre part, une profonde et globale réflexion vis à vis des pas qui devraient être entamés, considérant que notre intention n était pas de faire une simple intervention dans le système scolaire avec une programmation pré-établie, sans instruments crées à priori pour le développement d actions dans le contexte scolaire. Comme questions principales nous pouvons souligner: Comment la coopération contribue pour le vécu des élèves? De quelle manière ce principe se réalise dans le quotidien de la salle de classe? Le principe coopératif, pourrait-il agir comme une alternative qui favorise la dynamique de la salle de classe et des relations entre les élèves? Le principe de la coopération exige la création d une ambiance en salle de classe dans laquelle il existe des éléments médiateurs dans la relation professeur-élève. Ainsi, l organisation de la salle a un caractère important; il faut considérer la participation des élèves dans la construction de ses connaissances. Pour cela, il est nécéssaire créer des structures qui doivent être complétées à partir de l activité des propres élèves. Dans la ligne de cette pensée nous avons, donc, comme objectifs spécifiques: 1) Investiguer, dans l action pédagogique du professeur, l utilisation de stratégies pour la consolidation du principe coopératif pour la salle de classe; 2) Faire une réflexion à propos de l organisation du travail coopératif développé par le professeur en observant comment celui-ci est réalisé en salle de classe; 3) Établir un répertoire des vécus de coopération construits en salle de classe par les élèves et le professeur. Ainsi, pour développer une interaction avec les sujets de la recherche [professeurs et élèves] des études ont été développés ancrés sur les principes de la recherche qualitative de type ethnographique pour considérer ce dernier un référentiel méthodologique plus indiqué à l utilisation des téchniques d observation, interviews et analyse de documents, car ces téchniques sont, traditionnellement, associées à l ethnographie. Cette recherche a pour but comprendre la vision de ce qui arrive quotidiennement dans la salle de classe observée et les multiples relations imbriquées dans le processus de motivation de l apprentissage utilisant la coopération

This text is organized through discussions undertaken in the area of the History of Education in Rio Grande do Norte, circumscribed to the History of Women from the first decades of the Brazilian Republic, and to the analysis of what was expected of this education. We examined representations of women in Natal, between 1889 and 1914, with the goal of configuring relations between the sexes with the emphasis on moral, intellectual and pedagogical aspects required of these women. As documental sources we utilized the educational, civil and criminal Legislation, on a National scope, as well as on a State and Municipal scope. We circumscribed our search to the newspaper A República, in which we found literature that circulated in Natal in the form of pamphlets, short stories and poetry, as well as other texts by authors that were part of the corpus of analysis of this study, located in public and private archives in Rio Grande do Norte, such as the Historical and Geographic Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IHGRN) and the State Public Archive of Rio Grande do Norte (APE-RN). The use of the indexing method and the propositions of Cultural History were the appropriate theoretical-methodological framework to complete studies of this nature. This operational perspective permitted us to elaborate nuances about this time of transition from the 19th to the 20th Century, and to spotlight the fire of the women from this period. The basis of the argument that related women to maternity and domesticity, and within the ideals of abnegation and religious leadership, aligned to a demand coming from the increase in the quantity of schools for women, allocated women as the most appropriate for superior in educational performance in the country, based on its foundations: primary education. Beyond the universe of formal education, the other side of women appeared in republican politics. The mother-spouse and the institutionalization of domestic education associated the female gender with the role of educator at home as well. Be it in the public sphere, as a teacher, or in private, as mother-spouse, female care is perceived in this configuration, as an educational base that the Republic, and in transition, bequeathed to the Brazilian 20th Century

The diachronic studies marked the first decades of the 20th century in Brazilian linguistics, passing by an ostracism period after the 50s. Mainly from the 90s especially with the project, created in 1997, Para a história do português brasileiro (PHPB), which has systemized, in national ambit, the programme related to the area of diachrony the historical studies retake forces and have gradually increased since then. Our work is set in the new scene of Brazilian historical linguistics and it is associated to two research programmes: i) the constitution of a diachronic corpus; ii) the diachrony of text and discourse. As regards the first programme, we made effort to constitute a diachronic corpus of official letters about Rio Grande do Norte, we called cartas oficiais norte-rio-grandenses, written in 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The chosen for bureaucrat letters occurred for they represent a textual category very productive in historical contexts, mostly 18th and 19th centuries, in which the command of writing was the least and also because they bring, almost always explicitly, the information of where, when, for whom and from whom, as remembers Fonseca (2003). The rules for constituting the corpus were based, although not strictly, on the orientation from PHPB. In respect to the second programme, we set up on the ideas of coserian base came from the studies on discourse traditions (TD) (Koch, 1997; Kabatek, 2006) amongst which that the texts are shaped so as to follow their own tradition (Coseriu, 2007), and we turned to Diplomatics (Belloto, 2002) in order to do the characterization of this corpus by the application of concepts from Diplomatics and TD as well as by the presentation of the structures that form those official letters: their textual genres, a kind of TD, with their macrostructures; and some of their formulaic expressions (microstructures), another sort of TD. This stage of characterizing will pay attention, as far as possible, to the dynamic between tradition and innovation that happen in the actualization of those textual structures along the centuries. This work intends to contribute with the researches connected to Historical Linguistics in Rio Grande do Norte, more specifically the ones related to the constitution of diachronic corpora and to TD; and with the study of official documents, textual category about which there are almost no studies (cf. Silveira, 2007)
