Este projeto teve como objetivo principal a análise crítica das representações de género que permeiam os conteúdos e linhas editoriais dos órgãos de comunicação social portugueses, cruzando dois eixos de análise: a produção de conteúdos mediáticos e a receção desses conteúdos junto do público jovem. O primeiro eixo teve por objetivo analisar a forma como mulheres e homens são representados nas revistas portuguesas de informação generalista, atendendo ao sexo das/os produtoras/es das peças, de forma a detetar eventuais diferenças ao nível das práticas discursivas. Nesse sentido, para além da análise de um ano de edições das duas revistas selecionadas (Sábado e Visão) foram realizadas entrevistas a profissionais das referidas revistas, as/os quais desempenhavam diferentes funções e ocupavam posições hierárquicas diversas: jornalistas, fotojornalistas, editoras/es e membros da direção. O principal objetivo das entrevistas às/aos profissionais foi perceber a composição e as dinâmicas de funcionamento das redações destas revistas, bem como a forma como as/os profissionais entendem as questões de género e como é que estas estão patentes no trabalho diário que desenvolvem. O segundo eixo visou compreender o modo como os produtos mediáticos são apropriados pelo público jovem, mediante a realização de diversos grupos focais. Em ambos os eixos metodológicos privilegiou-se uma abordagem qualitativa, uma vez que se entende que as decisões jornalísticas são marcadas por interesses, veiculando assim significados ideológicos. 
 Esta abordagem permitiu averiguar as convergências e divergências entre os padrões discursivos evidenciados em cada um dos eixos metodológicos.

Today, doctors can be publishers – computer technology and the internet make it possible, and book projects are tempting in terms of money. A doctor who publishes his own textbooks can earn many times what he would be paid in royalties by a publishing house. More important than this, however, is the fact that a doctor who writes and publishes wants his texts to be read by as many colleagues, students and patients as possible. The best way to achieve this is through free parallel publication of these texts on the internet

Das Thema Nachhaltigkeit ist schon seit geraumer Zeit in den gesellschaftlichen Fokus gerückt. Große Unternehmen sehen sich zunehmend dem Druck einer kritischen Öffentlichkeit ausgesetzt. Das betrifft besonders Unternehmen, die im ernährungswirtschaftlichen Bereich tätig sind. Fast Food gilt für viele als Inbegriff schlechter Ernährung und unethischer Verhaltensweisen. Vor diesem Hintergrund versuchen immer mehr Unternehmen, ihre Produkte und Produktionsprozesse sowie die Unternehmensführung selbst nachhaltig zu gestalten. Mit dem Instrument der Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation existiert ein Ansatz, diese Entwicklung transparent zu kommunizieren. Dabei nutzen immer mehr Firmen das Internet als Kommunikationskanal. Da die Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation allerdings ein noch recht junges Feld der Unternehmenskommunikation darstellt, gibt es quantitativ wie qualitativ große Unterschiede. Vor diesem Hintergrund untersucht diese Arbeit die Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation des führenden Fast-Food-Konzerns McDonald’s im Internet. Es wird sich zeigen, dass sich die Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation in die Bereiche Produktverantwortung und Unternehmensverantwortung aufteilt. Beide Bereiche orientieren sich mit ihren Inhalten an gesellschaftlichen Ansprüchen. Die Produktverantwortung von McDonald‘s umfasst dabei sowohl persönliche als auch externe Effekte der Lebensmittelproduktion. Die Unternehmensverantwortung schließt die Verantwortung als Arbeitgeber, gesellschaftliches Engagement und Umweltschutz ein. Durch einen Vergleich mit einer Verbraucherstudie, die irreführende Kommunikationsstrategien der Lebensmittelindustrie aufzeigt, wird sich zeigen, dass die Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation auf Produktebene Täuschungspotenziale aufweist. Zudem zeigt sich, dass die drei Nachhaltigkeitsdimensionen nicht integriert dargestellt werden.

Key Points: Health outcomes are generally worse in the most deprived areas in Northern Ireland when compared both with those witnessed in the region generally and in the least deprived areas. Large differences (health inequality gaps) continue to exist for a number of different health measures. åá Males in the 20% most deprived areas could expect, on average, to live 4.3 fewer years than the NI average and 7.3 fewer years than those in the 20% least deprived areas.åá Female life expectancy in the most deprived areas was 2.6 years less than the regional average and 4.3 years less than that in the least deprived areas.åá The overall death rate for males as measured by the All Age All Cause Mortality (AAACM) rate was a fifth higher in the most deprived areas (1,567 deaths per 100,000 population) than the NI average (1,304 deaths per 100,000 population), and 44% higher than in the least deprived areas (1,090 deaths per 100,000 population).åá The overall death rate for females (AAACM) in the most deprived areas (1,093 deaths per 100,000 population) was 17% higher than regionally (935 deaths per 100,000 population), and a third higher than in the least deprived areas (829 deaths per 100,000 population).åá The suicide rate in the most deprived areas (30.7 deaths per 100,000 population) was three times that in the least deprived areas (10.1 deaths per 100,000 population). L'acostament entre el professional de la salut i el qui necessita els seus serveis és un tema d'interès per a la psicologia de la salut des que va començar com a disciplina. En el context de la societat de la informació i el coneixement apareix un nou escenari d'intervenció d'aquests dos col·lectius que és necessari conèixer. Per això s'han començat diferents propostes, però la que presenta el grup d'investigació de Psicologia de la Salut i Xarxa (PSINET) de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya s'encamina a potenciar la creació d'espais virtuals de trobada entre ambdós col·lectius (professionals de la salut i usuaris de serveis de salut). L'establiment de plataformes digitals de serveis sanitaris per als ciutadans del segle XXI passa primer per conèixer la realitat dels diferents col·lectius implicats en la relació salut i xarxa. L'objectiu que es planteja en aquest estudi se centra en el primer col·lectiu i en el descobriment del que hi ha sobre salut a Internet. Per a això, seguint una metodologia de recerca exhaustiva per Internet, s'han recollit webs sobre salut en català i castellà, i s'ha fet una anàlisi de dades textuals de la informació que contenien els webs en català. Aquesta anàlisi ha permès conèixer i descriure el prototip de web sobre salut que hi ha a la xarxa en el moment de fer l'estudi.

Introduction To guarantee the success of a virtual library it is essential that all users can access all the library resources independently of the user’s location. Achieving this goal in the Andalusian Public Health System has been a particularly difficult task, due to it is made up of 10 research centers and 95.000 health-care professionals. Aims Since the BV-SSPA started three years ago, one of its mayor aims has been to provide remote access to all its resources in this complex scenario, as well as facilitate the access to the virtual library to both professionals and citizens. IP access was guaranteed because health-care professionals could access everything from their workplaces thanks to the intranet, but it was restricted when they were not there. The BV-SSPA solved this problem by installing a federated authentication and authorization system called PAPI and a PAPI rewriting proxy. After three years the BV-SSPA has met a new challenge: adapting its federated access system to Metalib and SFX, specifically the access management module PDS had to be connected with the existing PAPI system. This new challenge came along with the introduction of a new metasearcher and link resolver. Material and Methods Initially there were three independent systems: • A Metalib and SFX PDS module, • A federated authentication and authorization system: PAPI. • A PAPI Rewriting Proxy. The chosen solution went through the reutilization of the existing software. To achieve this goal, a PHP connector between these applications was developed and several modules in the PDS configuration were modified. On the other hand, providing a simplified access to Metalib has been solved using Xerxes and integrating it in a Drupal website. Results Thanks to this connector the BV-SSPA was able to get all its users remotely accessing its new metasearcher without changing the way they used to validate, or without having to remember a new username and password. Futhermore, thanks to Xerxes, it is possible to use Metalib from a simple interface and without having to leave the BV-SSPA website to go its native interface.

Information Technologies and Documentation made the foundation of virtual libraries possible anywhere in the world, being the universities the institutions where the evolution towards the online supply of services for their users has evolved in a most important way. In Europe, the convergence in the European Higher Education Area, has forced university libraries to adapt to the functions that were assigned to them by the Declaration of Bologna. In Europe it is necessary to overcome some resistance to the necessary change. Besides the active participation of the librarians and information retrieval professionals, it is necessary to have information professionals that exert the necessary leadership and assure that to coordinate access to core health information delivery to health professionals and researchers efficiently and more cost-effectively through the implementation of novel technologies should be a major aim.
