El desarrollo de indicadores integrados (ambientales, sociales y agrarios) como herramienta de política pública : Calidad de suelo

Las transformaciones del espacio agrario en los últimos años, definidas a partir de la aparición de la consolidación de grupos económicos con poder de interpelación con el Estado a través de sus organismos específicos, de nuevos actores sociales y de nuevos usos del suelo han hecho surgir un nuevo territorio social, económico y ambiental. La necesidad por parte del Estado de conocer, regular y orientar este proceso, a partir de políticas públicas, requiere instrumentos que puedan medir con precisión estos cambios. La utilización de índices integrados que reúnan las diferentes dimensiones de esta nueva configuración es una tarea imperiosa. Nuestro grupo de investigación, a partir de la medición de la calidad de suelo considera necesario la revisión y ampliación de una metodológica limitada, que separa los indicadores sociales y económicos de los edafológicos en una concepción que desarticula el fenómeno ambiental, desagregando y con ello, ocultando su naturaleza. La propuesta consiste en el desarrollo de índices integrados que haga justicia y muestre los cambios ambientales generados en el espacio pampeano como un resultado de un triángulo, cuyos lados son profundamente solidarios

Almetrics: measuring the influence of the media on the social impact of research

Social media is changing the way we interact, present ideas and information and judge the quality of content and contributions. In recent years there have been hundreds of platforms to freely share all kinds of information and connect across networks. These new tools generate activity statistics and interactions among users such as mentions, retweets, conversations, comments on blogs or Facebook; managers references showing popularity ratings of more references shared by other researchers or repositories that generate statistics of visits or downloads of articles. This paper analyzes that have meaning and implications altmetrics, what are its advantages and critical platforms (Almetric.com, ImpactStory, Plos altmetrics, PlumX), reports progress and benefits for authors, publishers and librarians. It concluded that the value of alternative metrics as a complementary tool citation analysis is evident, although it is suggested that you should dig deeper into this issue to unravel the meaning and the potential value of these indicators to assess their potential.

Waged domestic work in Argentina: the regulation of care provision

This paper addresses the condition of domestic work in Argentina, in a perspective that draws from the literature on care work. In this approach, domestic work can be interpreted as one of the mercantile forms in which care work is socially organized, due to the persistence of the traditional sexual division of labor and the weakness of public policies. From these considerations, I develop a quantitative study on the levels of informality, precarity, and wage inequality that characterize domestic work in that country. Thereafter, I discuss the main measures adopted by the Argentine government since 2003, with the goal of reducing legal discrimination of domestic workers and promoting their formalization. On this basis, the paper highlights the advances in the recognition of domestic workers’ labor rights, while emphasizing how social and cultural restraints still permeate labor relations in this sector.
