Prevalence, risk factors, and problems associated with dating violence: A literature review

The physical, psychological and sexual violence among the couples of adolescents and young adults that are not married neither cohabiting (well-known generally as ���dating violence���), has been object of a vast number of investigations in the last two decades that show a high prevalence inside the adolescent and juvenile population. The objective of this work was to carry out an analysis of the literature in connection with the prevalence, risk factors and difficulties associated with this partner violence type. This analysis allowed to elaborate an outline of the factors that could favor the acts of violence, including the previous experiences��of victimization inside and outside the family, the acceptance of the violence toward the couple, and the relationship with pairs that have exercised this form of violence.

Neuromuscular dressing effects: a literature review

The kinesio taping is a technique that was created in 1979 by Doctor Kenzo Kase I���m looking through it that could generate a new therapeutic option to control pain, improve athletic performance and reduce the impact of musculoskeletal disorders. From the Sydney 2000 Olympic��Games, this technique as a therapeutic alternative PTO and is composed of health professionals in the field of sport and physical rehabilitation. Objetive: This article aims to identify theoretical approaches on the bandage neuromuscular. Material and methods: held today, for which conducted a literature search of databases such as como Proquest, Ovid, Cochraine, PEDro, Journal ofOrthopedic and Sports Physical, Sciencedirect, Pubmed y Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (Lilacs). The paper proposes a scheme of contextualization of the current landscape of the use and effects of kinesio taping in the management of different pathologies of the musculo-skeletal system in sports. Conclusion: it is concluded that currently many health professionals, and take the neuromuscular bandage a good therapeutic option in the management of diseases affecting the human body is investigated and every day more about the subject, which makes these new therapeutic methods to acquire a scientific value and transcends knowledge.

Eficacia del diagn��stico prenatal no invasivo por c��lulas fetales libres en sangre materna 1990-2014. Revisi��n sistem��tica

ANTECEDENTES:��El aislamiento de c��lulas fetales libres o ADN fetal en sangre materna abre una ventana de posibilidades diagn��sticas no invasivas para patolog��as monog��nicas y cromos��micas, adem��s de permitir la identificaci��n del sexo y del RH fetal. Actualmente existen m��ltiples estudios que eval��an la eficacia de estos m��todos, mostrando resultados costo-efectivos y de menor riesgo que el est��ndar de oro. Este trabajo describe la evidencia encontrada acerca del diagn��stico prenatal no invasivo luego de realizar una revisi��n��sistem��tica de la literatura. OBJETIVOS:��El objetivo de este estudio fue��reunir la evidencia que��cumpla��con los criterios de b��squeda, en el tema del diagn��stico fetal no invasivo por c��lulas fetales libres en sangre materna para determinar su utilidad diagn��stica.�� M��TODOS:��Se realiz�� una revisi��n��sistem��tica de la literatura con el fin de determinar si��el diagn��stico prenatal no invasivo por c��lulas fetales libres en sangre materna es efectivo como m��todo de diagn��stico.�� RESULTADOS:��Se encontraron 5,893 art��culos que cumpl��an con los criterios de b��squeda;��67 cumplieron los criterios de inclusi��n: 49.3% (33/67) correspondieron a estudios de corte transversal, 38,8% (26/67) a estudios de cohortes y el 11.9% (8/67) a estudios casos y controles.��Se obtuvieron resultados de sensibilidad, especificidad y tipo de prueba. CONCLUSI��N:��En la presente revisi��n sistem��tica, se evidencia como el diagn��stico prenatal no invasivo es una t��cnica feasible, reproducible y sensible para el diagn��stico fetal, evitando el riesgo de un diagn��stico invasivo.

Violence and growth in colombia : a review of the quantitative literature

This is a critical review of the empirical literature on the relationship between violence and economic growth in Colombia: an interesting case study for social scientists studying violence, conflict, crime and development. We argue that, despite the rapid development of this literature and the increasing use of new techniques, there is still much room for research. After assessing the contribution of the most influential papers on the subject, we suggest directions for future research.
