Contemporary English drama : a program of study for the South Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs

This program-bulletin has been prepared by Dr. G. A. Wauchope, head of the English Department of the University: of South Carolina, for the use of Women's Literary Clubs and for the guidance of any who would acquaint themselves with the recent dramatic movement in Great Britain. A list of authors and their works are discussed.

Report of the Tax Study Committee to the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of South Carolina.

This is a report by the Committee that was created by House Resolution 1691 of 1965 for the purpose of studying the State's tax laws relating to the assessment and collection of ad valorem taxes by the political subdivisions of the state. The Committee found that some statutory requirements relating to reporting and assessment of property for local tax purposes were being ignored for practical reasons, and that, in the opinion of the Committee, actual practice was sometimes productive of better results than existing legal requirements. In those cases, the Committee has recommended changes in the law so that legal requirements will coincide with desirable practice.

Survey of South Carolina's tradition bearers

Tradition bearers practice traditional arts handed down from generation to generation in an informal manner and not in a classroom.This booklet is organized by county and lists tradition bearers who have been identified from across the state. Those listed are the tradition bearers found in the limited time frame of the survey and are likely not the only tradition bearers in the county. The tradition bearer’s art form is in bold, along with their location. Traditions from gospel music to weaving and food traditions are included.

Blackwater river of South Carolina : an interactive guide to the blackwater river ecosystem

This interactive site describes the various inhabitants of a blackwater ecology system. It has a watercolor illustration with birds, animals and fish which you click and information about the animal is described by scientific name, size, description, habitat, range, diet and behavior.

Supplement to A Teacher’s Guide to African American Historic Places in South Carolina : integrating art into classroom instruction

Within this booklet, teachers will find instructional resources covering a wide array of genres, including, dance, choral music, general music, instrumental music, media arts, theatre, and the visual arts. These lesson plans are explicitly designed to integrate artistic expression and comprehension with other academic disciplines, such as English, History, and Social Studies. Each submission highlights the grade level, artistic genre, sources, learning objectives, instructional plans, and modes of evaluation. This Arts Integration Supplement to the Teacher’s Guide to African American Historic Places in South Carolina outlines 22 lesson plans that meet the 2010 Visual and Performing Arts Standards of South Carolina and integrates the arts into classroom instruction. Where applicable, other standards, such as those for math and social studies, are listed with each lesson plan. The teaching activities in this supplement are provided to aid in the development of lesson plans or to complement existing lessons. Teaching activities are the simplest means of integrating art in classroom instruction.

Review of Program Integrity Operations At Six Managed Care Organizations Delivering Medicaid Services under a Contract with the South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services

The State contracted with six managed care organizations to deliver Medicaid managed care at an annual cost of $2.7 billion, representing 10% of the State’s annual budget, to 750,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in South Carolina. This review’s scope and objectives were: Test the six MCOs’ compliance and effective execution of the SCDHHS’s managed care contract “Section 11 - Program Integrity” focusing on the operational components of pre-payment review and post-payment review. Identify opportunities to improve SCDHHS’s biennial managed care contract, contract monitoring, and MCO compliance and effective execution of the contract.

Federal and state laws impose a range of collateral consequences that affect the opportunities available to youth involved in the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Children who have pled or have been found guilty of juvenile delinquency offenses face challenges in gaining employment finding housing and accessing educational opportunities. This publication provides a community resource containing the most current information on the short-term and long-term consequences of delinquency adjudications in South Carolina.

Ensuring Quality Services for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities and their Families within the BabyNet Early Intervention System: An Analysis of Current and Needed Resources

This report prioritizes the targeted, additional resources First Steps and system stakeholders believe will be necessary to ensure the BabyNet system earns a federal designation of “meets requirements” for the first time in its 25 year history. It lists key recommendations to help meet those requirements.

Improving the Efficiency of the South Carolina Real Estate Commission's License Renewal Process

The goal of this project is to increase the amount of successful real estate license renewals while reducing the disruption caused by manual processing and calls for assistance with renewals and technical issues. The data utilized in this project will demonstrate that the Real Estate Commission renewal process can be improved by utilizing electronic resources such as more detailed website information and repeat e-mail notices, through modifications to the online renewal process to reduce applicant error, and by increasing the visibility of online renewal log-in instructions while decreasing the visibility and use of mail-in applications.
