The trial was carried to evaluate the nutritional effects of mulberry leaf hay in broiler chickens. Five treatments were used: control (no mulberry, 3.16% CF); 15% mulberry (4.14% CF); 30% mulberry (5.09% CF), no mulberry (4.14% CF); no mulberry (5.09% CF). A randomized blocks design was used, with two blocks and three replications into the blocks to evaluate performance index, histopathological examination of the visceral organs and morphometric measurements of the hepatocyte nucleus and pancreatic acini. A poor performance index was observed for broilers feeding on mulberry leaves; lesions such as steatosis, proliferation of hepatic duct cells and multiple necrosis were found in the livers of the chickens fed with 30% mulberry (5.09% CF), as well as size reduction of the hepatocyte nucleus and pancreatic acini. From these data, it is concluded that mulberry probably has some toxic substance which can interfere in the improvement of diet ingredients, resulting in damage to broiler chickens.

Como os professores do município focalizado vêem a formação continuada? E ainda: como lidam com essa questão dos cursos para progressão na carreira? Com quais objetivos fazem os cursos? Se é que fazem? Como ficam sabendo? Em que condições eles são oferecidos? O que esses professores acham da qualidade dos cursos? Da duração? O que efetivamente esses cursos mudam em suas práticas? Acham importante fazê-los, não acham? É possível afirmar que para os docentes, a progressão continuada não existe para suprir falhas da formação inicial conforme o discurso político atual, mas ela existe, para acrescentar e atualizar o conhecimento do professor perante as inovações tecnológicas. Por meio da análise do estatuto, verifica-se que ao olhar do município é condição sine qua non a realização dos cursos de progressão continuada na progressão da carreira para atender ao discurso vigente (má formação inicial do professor). Neste sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa é verificar qual a importância da progressão continuada para os docentes, além disso, analisar, identificar e entender os mecanismos que levaram um município do interior paulista a elaborar um novo Estatuto do Magistério com Plano de Carreira. Para a constatação dos objetivos citados acima foram realizadas entrevistas com profissionais envolvidos na elaboração do Estatuto, bem como com aqueles profissionais que são regidos pelo mesmo, ou seja, os professores do Ensino Fundamental I.

Os olhos são a janela da alma. De outra forma: o olhar revela o não dito, a intimidade, o recalcado. O filme O segredo dos seus olhos, do diretor argentino Juan José Campanella, com roteiro de Eduardo Sacheri, também autor do romance A pergunta dos seus olhos e do conto El Hombre, que inspiraram o filme, nos coloca na frente desta questão. A memória individual e coletiva se constrói a partir de pequenos indícios. Esta reflexão se propõe estudar os procedimentos pelos quais esses indícios habilitam a reconstrução da trama e a costura com a história do país que os autores propõem por caminhos originais.

Purpose. The present study aimed to compare actors/actresses's voices and vocally trained subjects through aerodynamic and electroglottographic (EGG) analyses. We hypothesized that glottal and breathing functions would reflect technical and physiological differences between vocally trained and untrained subjects.Methods. Forty participants with normal voices participated in this study (20 professional theater actors and 20 untrained participants). In each group, 10 male and 10 female subjects were assessed. All participants underwent aerodynamic and EGG assessment of voice. From the Phonatory Aerodynamic System, three protocols were used: comfortable sustained phonation with EGG, voice efficiency with EGG, and running speech. Contact quotient was calculated from EGG. All phonatory tasks were produced at three different loudness levels. Mean sound pressure level and fundamental frequency were also assessed. Univariate, multivariate, and correlation statistical analyses were performed.Results. Main differences between vocally trained and untrained participants were found in the following variables: mean sound pressure level, phonatory airflow, subglottic pressure, inspiratory airflow duration, inspiratory airflow, and inspiratory volume. These variables were greater for trained participants. Mean pitch was found to be lower for trained voices.Conclusions. The glottal source seemed to have a weak contribution when differentiating the training status in speaking voice. More prominent changes between vocally trained and untrained participants are demonstrated in respiratory-related variables. These findings may be related to better management of breathing function (better breath support).

This work presents an efficient method for the preparation of magnetic nanoparticles modified with molecularly imprinted polymers (Mag-MIP) through core-shell method for the determination of biotin in milk food samples. The functional monomer acrylic acid was selected from molecular modeling, EGDMA was used as cross-linking monomer and AIBN as radical initiator. The Mag-MIP and Mag-NIP were characterized by FTIR, magnetic hysteresis, XRD, SEM and N2-sorption measurements. The capacity of Mag-MIP for biotin adsorption, its kinetics and selectivity were studied in detail. The adsorption data was well described by Freundlich isotherm model with adsorption equilibrium constant (KF) of 1.46 mL g(-1). The selectivity experiments revealed that prepared Mag-MIP had higher selectivity toward biotin compared to other molecules with different chemical structure. The material was successfully applied for the determination of biotin in diverse milk samples using HPLC for quantification of the analyte, obtaining the mean value of 87.4% recovery.

From the book of Newton Duarte (2000) Vigotysky and “Learning to Learn”, you can make a compelling reflection of the cover, a masterpiece of the artist Max Ernst, “Birds, too: Bird-Snake and Scarecrow” by 1921 (in Bischoff, 1993) and the phrase “Learning to Learn”. Compare and interpret the theme of Vygotsky with the picture is our purpose, because look at the painting on the surface of the cover is meaningless by itself, is necessary to seek a dual mechanism of visual perception on what it represents. It is a metaphor. Such explicit representation abroad and, by analogy, implicitly synthesizes the inside of a slogan that has become a symbol of the innovative teaching positions

The difficulty lies in dealing with the texts of Almada Negreiros focuses on language, search for expression. Saramago, in his texts of various kinds, "Manual of Painting and Calligraphy" and "The world's largest flower," suffers by seeking representative languages. Which one is less difficult, less traumatic, painting or writing? In conclusion, the two are so much paint as painful to write. Compare them to the knife ripping a sheet of paper. Almada entangled in them all as a poet, novelist, painter, designer, playwright. Through them, we sought from "Before You Begin" to "Getting Started", always be in alpha. The text that follows is entitled Aesthetics in Revolution, it may cover the surrounding poetic Alma.

Background & aims: Altered intestinal permeability has been shown to be associated with metabolic alterations in animal models of obesity, but not in humans. The aim of this study was to assess intestinal permeability in obese women and verify if there is any association with anthropometric measurements, body composition or biochemical variables. Methods: Twenty lean and twenty obese females participated in the study. Anthropometric measurements, body composition and blood pressure were assessed and biochemical analyses were performed. Administration of lactulose and mannitol followed by their quantification in urine was used to assess the intestinal permeability of volunteers. Results: The obese group showed lower HDL (p < 0.05), higher fasting glucose, insulin, HOMA index and lactulose excretion than the lean group (p < 0.05), suggesting increased paracellular permeability. Lactulose excretion showed positive correlation (p < 0.05) with waist and abdominal circumference. Blood insulin and the HOMA index also increased with the increase in mannitol and lactulose excretion and in the L/M ratio (p < 0.05). L/M ratio presented a negative correlation with HDL concentration (p < 0.05). Conclusions: We demonstrated that intestinal permeability parameters in obese women are positively correlated with anthropometric measurements and metabolic variables. Therapeutic interventions focused on intestine health and the modulation of intestinal permeability should be explored in the context of obesity. Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri, the bacterium responsible for citrus canker, uses effector proteins secreted by a type III protein secretion system to colonize its hosts. Among the putative effector proteins identified for this bacterium, we focused on the analysis of the roles of AvrXacE1, AvrXacE2 and Xac3090 in pathogenicity and their interactions with host plant proteins. Bacterial deletion mutants in avrXacE1, avrXacE2 and xac3090 were constructed and evaluated in pathogenicity assays. The avrXacE1 and avrXacE2 mutants presented lesions with larger necrotic areas relative to the wild-type strain when infiltrated in citrus leaves. Yeast two-hybrid studies were used to identify several plant proteins likely to interact with AvrXacE1, AvrXacE2 and Xac3090. We also assessed the localization of these effector proteins fused to green fluorescent protein in the plant cell, and observed that they co-localized to the subcellular spaces in which the plant proteins with which they interacted were predicted to be confined. Our results suggest that, although AvrXacE1 localizes to the plant cell nucleus, where it interacts with transcription factors and DNA-binding proteins, AvrXacE2 appears to be involved in lesion-stimulating disease 1-mediated cell death, and Xac3090 is directed to the chloroplast where its function remains to be clarified.
