In vitro ANTIGIARDIAL ACTIVITY OF THE CYSTEINE PROTEASE INHIBITOR E-64

As cisteína-proteases estão entre os alvos mais promissores para o desenvolvimento de novos agentes terapêuticos, visto que participam de eventos fundamentais do ciclo de vida de muitos microorganismos, inclusive Giardia. Como a atividade das proteases pode ser controlada por inibidores específicos, essas substâncias têm sido avaliadas quanto ao potencial antiparasitário. Diante disso, o presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito in vitro do inibidor de cisteína-proteases E-64 sobre o crescimento, a aderência e a viabilidade de trofozoítos de cepa de Giardia isolada em Botucatu. Nos ensaios de crescimento e aderência, o número de trofozoítos foi estimado microscopicamente em hemocitômetro, enquanto que a viabilidade celular foi avaliada pelo método do MTT. No presente estudo, embora o metronidazol tenha se apresentado bastante efetivo, o E-64 mostrou ser capaz de inibir o crescimento, a aderência e a viabilidade em taxas superiores a 50%, especialmente nos cultivos expostos à concentração de 100 µM. A despeito de preliminares, esses resultados demonstram que o inibidor E-64 pode interferir em processos primordiais para a sobrevivência do parasita, além do que, abrem novas perspectivas para investigações futuras a fim de se avaliar o real potencial giardicida dos inibidores de proteases.

Estratégias para disseminação do conhecimento organizacional: o papel da arquitetura da informação

Introduction: Organizations are expending more and more, the spaces electronic / digital (Internet / intranet / extranet) as a way to efficiently manage information and knowledge in the organizational environment. The management of inputs informational and intellectual belongings ranges from the strategic level to the operational level; the results demonstrate the strength of the socialization of organizational strategies. Objective: To reflect on the role of information architecture for the development of electronic spaces / digital in organizational environments. Methodology: Analytical study supported by specialized literature, based on three aspects emphasized by Morville and Rosenfeld (2006) and applied to information architecture: context, content and user studies beyond the search and use of information Choo (2006) which also highlights three aspects: situational dimensions, cognitive needs and emotional reactions. Results: In the context of the Web environment organizations have a large number of sites for brands / products that have mostly no organizational structure or shared navigation. The results show that when a department needs to contact another department must do so in order offline. Conclusion: The information architecture has become essential for the development of management information systems that makes possible to easily find and access data and information, as well as helps in developing distinct hierarchies to structure the distribution of content, promoting developed quality and effectiveness of the management systems.

Processos de pesquisa e de estudo e a formação de professores: alguns aspectos teórico-metodológicos

Both the research and the university extension projects and the experiences of the students have an important role for the training of the teachers. Bring these issues of the quotidian aspects in the school to be analyzed by students to favor closer relations between theory and practice considering a specific academics context, historicizing and contextualizing both of them. Added to this, it allows for analyzing didactic issues in the interrelationship between the organizational aspects and the school community aspects. From these aspects, and considering our practice in teaching and researching in the university, we intend to address in this article to analyze theoretical and methodological aspects of research processes and the study aspects which, in our view, are important and add quality in the role of teacher training in both the initial and continuing education. We use the research and the study terms, because we believe that the developments of the both are fundamental to the methodological emphasis of the study process.

A influência da cultura e da comunicação para a geração de conhecimento em contexto organizacional

In the organizational context culture and communication are fundamental to the processes of appropriation, sharing, generation and use of knowledge. However, in organizations, it is evident that there is little awareness about the influence of information culture and informational communication in the scope of knowledge management. In this perspective and considering the theoretical context, we analyze the influence of culture and communication in the construction of knowledge in an organizational context. This study presents a qualitative research covering national literature focusing theoretical literature published about this thematic. Analyzing this literature we have verified that without an appropriate information culture and an appropriate information communication favoring the organizational processes, hardly the managers would reach the purpose of stimulating knowledge creation within the organization's environment. In conclusion we consider that culture and communication are the foundations for the effectiveness of activities that occur within the context of knowledge management.

The information professional as essential component in the soccer‟s club and this article approaches the importance of the information professional insertion inside the soccer‟s club. Know the structure of the clubs, as well like identify the diverse information that are inserted in this context – internal and external environment – of these organizations is necessary for a better comprehension of the activities that the information professional can perform in the clubs. Carrying out a parallel with the organizational structure model proposal by Mintzberg (1995) with the structure of Marília Athletic Club stayed clear the need of the information professional insert, therefore the Club is inserted in a highly competitive environment, there is many information, but little explored.

Emergetic ternary diagrams: five examples for application in environmental accounting for decision-making

In a recent paper, "A combined tool for environmental scientists and decision makers: ternary diagrams and emergy accounting." [Giannettti BF, Barrella FA, Almeida CMVB. A combined tool for environment scientists and decision makers: ternary diagrams and emergy accounting. J Clean Prod, in press http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2004.09.002] Ternary diagrams were proposed as a graphical tool to assist emergy analysis. The graphical representation of the emergy accounting data makes it possible to compare processes and systems with and without ecosystem services, to evaluate improvements and to follow the system performance over time. The graphic tool is versatile and adaptable to represent products, processes, systems, countries, and different periods of time.The use and the versatility of ternary diagrams for assisting in performing emergy analyses are illustrated by means of five examples taken from the literature, which are presented and discussed. It is shown that emergetic ternary diagram's properties assist the assessment of the system of the system efficiency, its dependance upon renewable and non-renewable inputs and the environmental support for dilution and abatement of process emissions. With the aid of ternary diagrams, details such as the interaction between systems and between systems and the environment are recognized and evaluated. Such a tool for graphical analysis allows a transparent presentation of the results and can serve as an interface between emergy scientists and decision makers, provided the meaning of each line in the diagram is carefully explained and understood. Desenvolvimento de um computador de bordo para veículo Baja-SAE

The objective of this paper is show the development of an Eletronic Control Unit (ECU) for Baja-SAE vehicles from its requirements to final implementation. An ECU for Baja-SAE vehicles is made of electric and electronic circuits (appropriated to the hostile situations of an off-road competition) able to make important measurements for the running or stand-by vehicle performance. For this development, some concepts were studied: embedded electronics concepts (mainly microcontrollers and data acquisition circuits) and sensoring. Both the studies were made considering the off-road environment. After these initial studies, the elaboration of the basics hardware and software (under simulations) has begun, and this elaboration objectives maximum performance and low implementation cost. After the theorical studies, basic definition of the hardware and software’s architectures and simulations, the printed circuit boards (PCB) were made, as exhaustive tests in these boards for debugging and verify if the boards work well. Once the system was tested in the university, it ran into a regional Southeast competition in 2010, that definitely proved the efficiency of the whole system

Experimentação e educação ambiental: contribuições metodológicas

During the last centuries, the human being have been considered the center of the universe. The man believed that nature was at his disposal. Appropriated their processes, their cycles changed, redefined their spaces. Today, when faced with an environmental crisis which threatens the planet life, including the human life, the Science Education can contribute to a reconstruction of man-nature relationship in other terms. The transformation of teaching practices in the school environment, to be reflective, it is still a process that challenges the vast majority of teachers. As has been indicated by Guerra (2004), among others, the traditional teaching of content delivery is still very strong and certainly more deeply embedded in ideas and activities of the teachers who focus on environmental education. With it, a theory and pedagogical discourses in critical-reflexive actions is still a major obstacle. Therefore, new proposals for education and continuing education activities need to be formulated and presented based on the characteristics and needs breathing. Therefore propose changes in the way of teaching, where there is more room for a theory and praxis alone or with a only scientific truth. The scenery of society requires that knowledge is constructed to interconnect all disciplines, joining theory and practice so we can understand the whole and their relations in an integrated manner. It was proposed here a way to build a school and applying theoretical and practical activities involving experimental and seeking to meet the principles of Environmental Education for the training of citizens aware and critical. At the same time cares to use textbooks very rich in its pedagogical character that are present in schools and often are, forgotten and unused by teachers. Inclusão de alunos com deficiência em escolas do campo: desafios da docência em contextos multisseriados

The challenges of dealing with diversity in the school, in a society that values standards, which homogenizes subjects, have been one of the main issues raised, both by researchers in the field of education as the segments that produce the policies in our country. The teatchers transformations, in the new needs prevailing in the era of postmodernity have inspired improvements in the teaching- -learning process and provide conditions to seek training professionals aware and critical in the process of being on social diversity. The present study aimed to investigate the challenges of teaching practice in the process of inclusion of students with disabilities in public schools in the Field of Concordia-SC. Such institutions have structures in their multigrade classes and organizations – with one teatcher for all. The methodological approach was qualitative in nature, with the instruments to collect data, semi-structured interviews and non-participant observation. We research subjects, two teachers of multigrade classes, Azucena and Dalia, which have enrollment of disabled students and the schools that comprise the Concordia Field. It was observed that as a result the main themes emerged from the interviews were: 1) Valuing and respecting the characteristics and capabilities of each student, 2) Design of classroom space as heterogeneous, rich in human diversity, 3) Cooperative work as a potentiator rhythms and different styles of learning, 4) continuing training of teachers: ensuring a “know-how”. It is hoped that the results of this study contribute to the formation and performance of the teacher in the process of inclusion of students with disabilities in school areas, especially in schools field.

O poético alinhave de Murilo Mendes: o poeta, a musa e a metapoesia em As Metamorfoses

Lying under the contribution of a display of characteristics with multiple meanings (Catholicism, Surrealism, unite of contraries, and the dialogue with other types of art), Murilo Mendes focalizes some subjects that are made to become appealing in his works. Some of these subjects appear in his 1945’s poetry book, As metamorfoses, the object of analysis in this present work: the poet’s figure, insert in the historical view of the World War II and by the poet devastated; the muse’s figure, carrier of the sacred and the profane, whose body represents a repository of descriptions with surrealistic meanings, that is shown indistinctly as the poetry itself; and, concluding, the poetry (or the metapoetry) expressed in this context (historical and literary). Therefore, we intend to search, based in the analysis of poems, how each of this instances are configured inside the poetic universe of Murilo Mendes, with the intention of enlighten the constitution of the sewing made of them by the poet from Juiz de Fora; instances that are very precious when we deal with the poetry that gives to his writings the patent feature of modernity.

During visits to municipalities were executed activities of health care with prevention and rehabilitation . Even against a background of lack of resources , lack of certain materials , common clinical presentation not prevented the carrying out of procedures and care . This experience is essential because it helps in decision making and establishment of costeffectiveness in their professional careers , based not only on scientific evidence , but also the needs of a given population . Therefore , the experience of participating in the PET allows the complete formation of the academic , also marked the Humanities and Social Sciences . Therefore, going beyond the walls of the college provides a comprehensive and humane view of the patient , which is no longer restricted to just one sick " part " , because it may have its context understood and integrated into the vision of each petiano .
