Desenvolvimento de um simulador de bombeio por cavidades progressivas

The method of artificial lift of progressing cavity pump is very efficient in the production of oils with high viscosity and oils that carry a great amount of sand. This characteristic converted this lift method into the second most useful one in oil fields production. As it grows the number of its applications it also increases the necessity to dominate its work in a way to define it the best operational set point. To contribute to the knowledge of the operational method of artificial lift of progressing cavity pump, this work intends to develop a computational simulator for oil wells equipped with an artificial lift system. The computational simulator of the system will be able to represent its dynamic behavior when submitted to the various operational conditions. The system was divided into five subsystems: induction motor, multiphase flows into production tubing, rod string, progressing cavity pump and annular tubing-casing. The modeling and simulation of each subsystem permitted to evaluate the dynamic characteristics that defined the criteria connections. With the connections of the subsystems it was possible to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the most important arrays belonging to the system, such as: pressure discharge, pressure intake, pumping rate, rod string rotation and torque applied to polish string. The shown results added to a friendly graphical interface converted the PCP simulator in a great potential tool with a didactic characteristic in serving the technical capability for the system operators and also permitting the production engineering to achieve a more detail analysis of the dynamic operational oil wells equipped with the progressing cavity pump

Gestão do lazer: os grupos de pesquisa em foco

This qualitative study aimed to investigate the research groups that focus on leisure management in Brazil. A documentary research was developed in the databases of the Directory of Research Groups CNPq - Plataforma Lattes. The results evidenced 12 groups in different Brazilian regions, predominantly in South region and in Tourism field. The same region also concentrates the largest production of complete articles; however, the field of Production Engineering leads the number of specific researches on leisure management. It is suggested further initiatives in order to implement and efficiently cataloging and disseminating academic information about leisure management.

How the delphi and AHP methods are aiding to define the critical success factors priorities in a digital factory project implementation

Digital factory is a concept that offers a collaborative approach to enhance product and production engineering processes through simulation. Products, processes and resources are modeled to be used to develop and test the product conception and manufacturing processes, before their use in the real factory. The purpose of this paper is to present the steps to identify the Critical Success Factors (CSF) priorities in a digital factory project implementation in a Brazilian company and how the Delphi and AHP Methods are aiding to identify these CSF priorities. Multi-choice mixed integer goal programming optimization for real problems in a sugar and ethanol milling company

Goal Programming (GP) is an important analytical approach devised to solve many realworld problems. The first GP model is known as Weighted Goal Programming (WGP). However, Multi-Choice Aspirations Level (MCAL) problems cannot be solved by current GP techniques. In this paper, we propose a Multi-Choice Mixed Integer Goal Programming model (MCMI-GP) for the aggregate production planning of a Brazilian sugar and ethanol milling company. The MC-MIGP model was based on traditional selection and process methods for the design of lots, representing the production system of sugar, alcohol, molasses and derivatives. The research covers decisions on the agricultural and cutting stages, sugarcane loading and transportation by suppliers and, especially, energy cogeneration decisions; that is, the choice of production process, including storage stages and distribution. The MCMIGP allows decision-makers to set multiple aspiration levels for their problems in which the more/higher, the better and the less/lower, the better in the aspiration levels are addressed. An application of the proposed model for real problems in a Brazilian sugar and ethanol mill was conducted; producing interesting results that are herein reported and commented upon. Also, it was made a comparison between MCMI GP and WGP models using these real cases. © 2013 Elsevier Inc.

Ensino de gestão da capacidade e da empresa com o apoio do jogo Mercado Virtual no curso de Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Industrial e Gestão da UMINHO/Azurém e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção da FEB/Bauru/UNESP

O jogo de empresas Mercado Virtual foi desenvolvido para mediar o processo ensino-aprendizagem na área de tomada decisão e gestão de empresas e tem um banco de dados que armazena as decisões dos alunos. Os dados nele armazenados foram analisados em relação ao balanceamento de capacidade, objetivo de lucro e uso de recursos financeiros da empresa e foram encontradas incoerências entre os conteúdos pertinentes ao modelo e as decisões dos alunos. Elas foram classificadas como lacunas de aprendizado. Com o objetivo de analisar se as mesmas se repetem entre alunos do Programa de Mestrado Engenharia de Produção da UNESP de Bauru e Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Industrial e Gestão da Uminho de Guimarães, Portugal, foram realizados dois experimentos, um em cada grupo. Para realizá-los utilizou-se o jogo Mercado Virtual e uma planilha de dimensionamento da empresa nos dois locais. A Sala de Estudos, os indicadores e o questionário de pesquisa da opinião foram utilizados somente em Portugal. Os resultados mostraram que o jogo é capaz de evidenciar as diferenças de domínio de conteúdo nos dois grupos e, também, que estas diferenças estão associadas aos projetos dos cursos. Sendo uma pesquisa exploratória, os experimentos foram realizados considerando-se somente os controles do jogo. Por isso, propõe-se a realização de pesquisas adicionais combinando controle sobre algumas das variáveis relacionadas do uso do jogo e atuação sobre aprendizagem dos alunos na forma de entrevistas e pesquisas não estruturadas. Conforme previsto, a pesquisa mostrou que os jogos podem ser utilizados com objetivos de aprendizagem mais amplos, considerando-se a avaliação indireta e cruzada sobre as decisões tomadas pelos alunos, como é o caso dos indicadores. Utilização de 5S, Kanban e Layout para a melhoria do controle de estoque em um varejo de materiais para construção

Many small businesses suffer from a lack of control of goods stored. This lack of control affects other areas of the company as purchase, that can’t buy material in an advanced and accurated way. It also affects services provided by the company, especially when it is a store because for sell something it is necessary to have the material in the right time. Futhermore, the business isn’t able to identify obsolete items in stock, theft and vandalism, loss or damage to materials. All of these disorders can be converted into financial losses that make much difference to a small business that needs to remain competitive in the market facing the giants while generating a profit that allows it to invest in their growth. Therefore, any unnecessary expense is exceedingly harmful and any savings already differentiates it from other companies of similar size. This study deals with the application of production engineering tools as 5S, kanban and layout in a building materials retail to tackle problems that prevent this company to have a stock organized and accurated. Perfil dos pesquisadores PQ do CNPQ da área de Engenharia de Produção

There is a need for ongoing evaluation of the researchers not only engineering and production in all areas of knowledge engineering. To check the quality and veracity of scientific production, the CNPq is a brazillian government agency designed to evaluate researchers, classify them and give the encouragement and incentive for their research. This study quantifies the CNPq researchers in the field of Production Engineering according to the time of operation in research, number of guidelines for masters and doctoral, number of articles in national and international journals or magazines and congresses. The classification of these researchers, according to the proposed quantification, is confronted with the level of research they have in CNPq. The researcher starts his career at level 2, after it spending levels for 1D, 1C, 1B reaches to the highest level 1A. The main conclusion to be drawn from this study is that excellent researchers with a significant number of guidelines, bitter years in the early levels because of the rules of the CNPq which only allows a researcher to achieve the highest levels after many years of research

Análise doprojeto de expansãode um armazém por meio da elaboração de um layout e análise de investimento: estudo de caso em uma fábrica do setor alimentício

The proper management of materials storage is essential to supply the needs of production and reduce the inventory costs. Moreover, an effective layout contributes to improve the productivity and reduce the operational costs of a warehouse. This way, the purpose of this study was: to propose an expansion project to the warehouse of a factory in the food sector, suggesting a layout that best fit their needs and to verify its economic feasibility. To achieve this goal, it was applied methods such as ABC curve, spaghetti diagram and concepts of economics engineering to the analysis of investment in the project. The results showed that the second layout model was better than the first, supporting the storage capacity required by the company and presenting an internal movement more efficient. However, with the investment analysis, it was found that it was not feasible, given the conditions of the company, investing in the expansion of the warehouse

Método de Taguchi aplicado a um processo de corte por fusão de um tecido sintético

A company must have full knowledge and control of its operations so as to meet the market requirements and meet their production goals. Thus this paper uses the Taguchi method to extend the operational control of a cutting process by fusion of a synthetic fabric in the longitudinal direction. For process analysis and tracking of possible causes of the problem techniques of Production Engineering as the cause and effect diagram, also known as Ishikawa diagram, and design of experiments were used, the last one was applied to the design techniques of Taguchi. Finally the preparation method of understanding and design of experiment was due to the use of the software MINITAB v15 ®, which showed that the speed of rolling the fabric after cutting is crucial for controlling the entire operation

The Guidelines contain subjects like the profile of graduates, the course structure, curriculum, internships and skills and abilities, all geared to guide the training of engineers in Brazil. The objective of this study is to evaluate together with teachers of the Production Department of this University and students of the fifth year of Production Engineering is how student learning of Production Engineering for the development and importance of skills within the course and skills for engineers who are present in the Curriculum Guidelines for engineering courses developed by MEC

This work was developed with the aim of explaining the real benefits of using the concept of Lean Manufacturing in a Metallurgical Industry. Through this will highlight the strategies and real gains from the use of this methodology and therefore, the tools of Production Engineering that were used in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, in order to improve processes in various aspects such as reduced handling, standardization of production, reduced time used in machine setup. Practical methods applied for the purpose of reducing waste become apparent. Also highlighted will be the real difficulties encountered in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing

Análise dos fatores de desempenho do ENADE: estudo parao curso de engenharia de produção mecânica

This work has the propose to discuss the National Examination Performance of students for the course in Production Engineering , from 2005 up to 2011, subsidies are shown how this came about assessment and how the course has been evaluated in recent years . Compares higher education from public and private universities in Brazil and is also discussed how important a good performance in the exam. Qualitative and quantitative surveys were conducted at different times that the work that enables a critical analysis of the examination , the institution and also the students themselves , so the list is the main motivators for the exam and also what should be done to obtaining good results in academic performance. Motivators for the exam has highlighted its importance is paramount and the consent of all involved from the beginning of the course to ensure that the examination is compulsory for all graduates of undergraduate manufacturing engineering in Brazil
