Vesien tila hyväksi yhdessä : Kemijoen vesienhoitoalueen vesienhoitosuunnitelma vuosiksi 2016-2012

Vesienhoitosuunnitelma on yleistasoinen suunnitteluasiakirja, johon on koottu ajantasaisin tieto vesienhoitoalueen pinta- ja pohjavesistä, niiden tilasta ja tilan parantamistarpeista. Vesienhoitosuunnitelmasta löytyvät muun muassa vesien tilan arvioinnin tulokset sekä pinta- ja pohjavesien seurantaohjelmat. Sen keskeinen osa on yhteenveto vesien tilan parantamiseksi suunnitelluista hoitotoimenpiteistä ja arvio niiden vaikuttavuudesta vesienhoitokautta 2016–2021 varten. Yhteenveto perustuu vesienhoitoalueen toimenpideohjelmaan. Toimenpideohjelma on vesienhoitosuunnitelmaa käyttökelpoisempi asiakirja, mikäli tarvitsee tietoa toimenpiteistä. Toimenpideohjelman toteuttamisen vaikutuksista laadittu ympäristöselostus muodostaa vesienhoitosuunnitelman luvun 13. Kemijoen vesienhoitoalueeseen kuuluvat Simojoen, Kemijoen ja Kaakamojoen vesistöt sekä rannikkoalueen ns. välialueet, koko alueen rannikkovedet ja pohjavedet.

Floating s- and p-type Gaussian Orbitals

The advantages of including a small number of p-type gaussian functions in a floating spherical gaussian orbital calculation are pointed out and illustrated by calculations on molecules which previously have proved to be troublesome. These include molecules such as F2 with multiple lone pairs and C2H2 with multiple bonds. A feature of the results is the excellent correlation between the orbital energies and those of a double zeta calculation reported by Snyder and Basch.

Genome-wide association study of migraine implicates a common susceptibility variant on 8q22.1

Migraine is a common episodic neurological disorder, typically presenting with recurrent attacks of severe headache and autonomic dysfunction. Apart from rare monogenic subtypes, no genetic or molecular markers for migraine have been convincingly established. We identified the minor allele of rs1835740 on chromosome 8q22.1 to be associated with migraine (P = 5.38 x 10(-)(9), odds ratio = 1.23, 95% CI 1.150-1.324) in a genome-wide association study of 2,731 migraine cases ascertained from three European headache clinics and 10,747 population-matched controls. The association was replicated in 3,202 cases and 40,062 controls for an overall meta-analysis P value of 1.69 x 10(-)(1)(1) (odds ratio = 1.18, 95% CI 1.127-1.244). rs1835740 is located between MTDH (astrocyte elevated gene 1, also known as AEG-1) and PGCP (encoding plasma glutamate carboxypeptidase). In an expression quantitative trait study in lymphoblastoid cell lines, transcript levels of the MTDH were found to have a significant correlation to rs1835740 (P = 3.96 x 10(-)(5), permuted threshold for genome-wide significance 7.7 x 10(-)(5). To our knowledge, our data establish rs1835740 as the first genetic risk factor for migraine.

Mycobacteria-responsive sonic hedgehog signaling mediates programmed death-ligand 1-and prostaglandin E-2-induced regulatory T cell expansion

CD4(+)CD25(+)FoxP3(+) regulatory T cells (Tregs) are exploited by mycobacteria to subvert the protective host immune responses. The Treg expansion in the periphery requires signaling by professional antigen presenting cells and in particularly dendritic cells (DC). However, precise molecular mechanisms by which mycobacteria instruct Treg expansion via DCs are not established. Here we demonstrate that mycobacteria-responsive sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling in human DCs leads to programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) expression and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2-catalyzed prostaglandin E-2 (PGE(2)) that orchestrate mycobacterial infection-induced expansion of Tregs. While SHH-responsive transcription factor GLI1 directly arbitrated COX-2 transcription, specific microRNAs, miR-324-5p and miR-338-5p, which target PD-L1 were downregulated by SHH signaling. Further, counter-regulatory roles of SHH and NOTCH1 signaling during mycobacterial-infection of human DCs was also evident. Together, our results establish that Mycobacterium directs a fine-balance of host signaling pathways and molecular regulators in human DCs to expand Tregs that favour immune evasion of the pathogen.

1. Astronomical photometry at wavelengths of 8.5, 10.5, and 11.6 µm. 2. Infrared emission from asteroids at wavelengths of 8.5, 10.5, and 11.6 µm

The purpose of this thesis is to present new observations of thermal-infrared radiation from asteroids. Stellar photometry was performed to provide standards for comparison with the asteroid data. The details of the photometry and the data reduction are discussed in Part 1. A system of standard stars is derived for wavelengths of 8.5, 10.5 and 11.6 µm and a new calibration is adopted. Sources of error are evaluated and comparisons are made with the data of other observers.

The observations and analysis of the thermal-emission observations of asteroids are presented in Part 2. Thermal-emission lightcurve and phase effect data are considered. Special color diagrams are introduced to display the observational data. These diagrams are free of any model-dependent assumptions and show that asteroids differ in their surface properties.

On the basis of photometric models, (4) Vesta is thought to have a bolometric Bond albedo of about 0.1, an emissivity greater than 0.7 and a true radius that is close to the model value of 300^(+50)_(-30)km. Model albedos and model radii are given for asteroids 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 15, 19, 20, 27, 39, 44, 68, 80, 324 and 674. The asteroid (324) Bamberga is extremely dark with a model (~bolometric Bond) albedo in the 0.01 - 0.02 range, which is thought to be the lowest albedo yet measured for any solar-system body. The crucial question about such low-albedo asteroids is their number and the distribution of their orbits.

Dangeardia sporapiculata n.sp., the term 'apiculus' and the species limitation of some chytrids [Translation from: Sydowia 16 324-330, 1963]

Taxonomic observations are given on Dangeardia sporapiculata n. sp. Furthermore the term 'apiculus' and the species limitation of some chytrids are being discussed. It is concluded that the newly described species Dangeardia sporapiculata does not fit satisfactorily into the present system of phlyctidiacee, because their characteristics do not agree exactly with any genus.

Zinc coupling potentiates anti-HIV-1 activity of baicalin

Baicalin (BA) has been shown with anti-HIV-1 activity. Zinc is a nutrient element. The anti-HIV-1 activity of zinc complex of baicalin (BA-Zn) in vitro was studied and compared with the anti-HIV-1 activities between BA and BA-Zn in the present study. Our results suggested that BA-Zn has lower cytotoxicity and higher anti-HIV-1 activity compared with those of BA in vitro. The CC(50)s of BA-Zn and BA were 221.52 and 101.73 muM, respectively. The cytotoxicity of BA-Zn was about 1.2-fold lower than that of BA. The BA and BA-Zn inhibited HIV-1 induced syncytium formation, HIV-1 p24 antigen and HIV-1 RT production. The EC(50)s of BA-Zn on inhibiting HIV-1 induced syncytium formation (29.08 muM) and RT production (31.17 muM) were lower than those of BA (43.27 and 47.34 muM, respectively). BA-Zn was more effective than BA in inhibiting the activities of recombinant RT and HIV-1 entry into host cells. Zinc coupling enhanced the anti-HTV-1 activity of baicalin. (C) 2004 Elsevier Inc. 1.3 mu m InAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dots grown on In0.2Ga0.8As-GaAs combined strain-buffer layer

Optical properties and surface structures of InAs/CaAs self-assembled quantum dots (QDs) grown on 2 nm In-0.2 Ga0.8As and x ML GaAs combined strain-buffer layer were investigated systematically by photoluminescence ( PL) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The QD density increased from similar to 1.7 x 10(9) cm(-2) to similar to 3.8 x 10(9) cm(-1) due to the decreasing of the lattice mismatch. The combined layer was of benefit to increasing In incorporated into dots and the average height-to-width ratios, which resulted in the red-shift of the emission peaks. For the sample of x = 10 ML, the ground state transition is shifted to 1350 nm at room temperature.

In0.2 Ga0.8 As-GaAs复合应力缓冲层上的1.3 μmInAs/GaAs自组织量子点
