Células-Tronco e Terapia Celular: Suporte didático para o ensino fundamental e médio

Nos últimos anos, as pesquisas com células-tronco têm despertado um grande interesse nos meios de comunicação, levando a população a encarar esse novo conhecimento científico como sendo um método promissor para a cura de inúmeras doenças até agora, tidas como incuráveis. Deste modo, mostra-se fundamental que o ensino de Biologia se volte para o desenvolvimento de competências que permitam ao aluno entender, discutir, questionar, analisar, adquirir um posicionamento crítico diante das informações postas e fazendo uso dos conhecimentos adquiridos, servir como multiplicadores do conhecimento científico. Este trabalho tem como objetivo central a produção de um material didático contendo informações a respeito das células-tronco, quanto aos tipos, características, classificações, métodos de coleta e as terapias desenvolvidas no Brasil. Informações estas que servem como auxílio para professores de Ciências e Biologia, na compreensão e atualização perante as inovações científicas relacionadas às células-tronco. O capítulo 6 vem como uma sugestão de atividades possíveis a serem desenvolvidas a partir desse tema. Apresenta ainda um CD-ROM contendo uma síntese do assunto proposto a servir como suporte no preparo de aulas didáticas relacionadas ao tema

This study aims to structurally evaluate a support of graphite pastille for the lubrication of railway wheels. The proper lubrication of wheel flanges of the railway extends the life of this component, so it is very important that this occurs lubrication to reduce the costs involved in railway maintenance. To prepar the evaluation structural will be used to International Electrotechnical Comission standard (IEC 61373) establishing which load cases should be applied to this component. The applied loads on the support (accordance with IEC) are random accelerations and accelerations due to shocks, thus simulating the conditions that exist along the route of the train. The structural analyzes are performed by the finite element method, with the aid of the Cosmos software. Thus, it is possible to determine the stresses acting on the support, and so the allowable stresses compared with the standard proposed by the AISC. The stress in the structural analyzes are lower than allowable therefore considered for the configuration presented, unexpected structural problems

As percepções sobre a democracia no Brasil: os valores políticos dos deputados estaduais paulistas, paranaenses e catarinenses

This paper analyzes the opinions of legislators members of parliamentaries elites of Legislative Assemblies of the States of São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina on democracy. The opinions of legislators paulistas were collected using a questionnaire selfadministered and structured, while the opinions of legislators paranaenses and catarinenses were collected with the surveys “As elites administrativas, parlamentares e partidárias do Paraná, 1995-2006” and “Elites políticas e a democracia: os valores políticos dos parlamentares catarinenses da 16º Legislatura, 2007”. The results were: i) democracy is stable, ii) it is superior to any other type of regime, iii) is supported by some social policies and the use of voting and iv) democracy has support of various ideological currents.

In recent years, public schools have experienced the deployment of external evaluation that, legally, should promote the development and deployment aimed at enhancing the educational process of teaching offered at the country's public policy systems. The objective of this work was to determine the load support capacity (LSC) of an Oxisol and, through compressibility models, relate it to wheel-soil interactions under management systems with one and three sugarcane crop cycles, with mechanized harvest. LSC evaluations were carried out on undisturbed soil samples, collected at planting row and bed, in four layers: 0.00-0.10, 0.10-0.20, 0.20-0.30, and 0.300.40 m. The contact area between wheels and soil was determined in order to estimate the contact pressure by agricultural machinery on the soil. Pre-consolidation pressures were used to determine LSC. The system with three cycles showed higher LSC than the system with only one cycle. The load support capacity of the soil evaluated in the range of friability is greater than the contact pressures applied to the soil by the wheels of the studied agricultural machines.
