Tornar-se professor: desvelando a atuação docente no início do exercício da docência

This research, based on authors such as Was (1999), Guarnieri (1996 and 2005), Freitas (2002 and 2007) argue that the understanding of teacher education as a complex continuum aimed at understanding the initiation of the educational performance in the first five years of professional practice, by analyzing the history of teaching teachers early in their career. As we contemplate the specific objectives of interest to examine the training received to enter and work in the classroom and the experiences in teaching at undergraduate students. To perform the empirical study we adopted the use of semi-structured, guided by an outline of issues significant to the conduct of the respondents' narratives. The main results can highlight the difficulties encountered at the beginning of the educational performance are recurrent, data analysis shows that there is a significant increase in the duties of the teacher. With the study arrives at the premise that we must rethink the quality and structure of training courses aimed at improving the quality of performance of professional education, but for this to occur there must be deepening of studies and improvements not only in initial training and in continuing education courses. Formação de professores: uma breve reflexão sobre as razões da escolha profissional

This text, supported by the Social Representations Theory (SRT), reports some results of a research with students from the 1st/4th years of the College of Sciences and Technology from the State University of São Paulo (FCT-Unesp) on the teacher’s work/identity. We applied 278 questionnaires (free association questions on the teacher’s work and profile). Two groups with former students (five with teaching degrees and four with degrees in Education) were organized. We analyzed issues regarding the choice for the teaching profession (Geography - 3; Math - 04; Physical Education - 01 and Pedagogy – 10). Partial results: 1. There are differences between the social representations of students enrolled in Teaching and Education courses; 2. These people say the profession requires dedication and commitment; 3. They establish a strong relationship between career choice and the “taste” for the profession; 4. They believe that their role is greatly challenging: it involves helping prospective students and commitment to the school.

The enrollments in technical courses outgrew beyond 70% between 2002 and 2010. It has made fundamental to look after this educational segment because of the changes in the job market, associated with the promulgation of the Law #11.741, witch disentails the High Scholl from the Professional Education, points out to some better understanding of this population. This study intended to trace the profile of this student. The socioeconomic criteria by Abipeme (Brazilian Association of Market Research Institutes) was used, and the most important item was age, with a result higher than expected to this educational phase, about 24 years old. The respondents characterized themselves as pertaining to B and C economical classes.

A formação inicial do professor-pesquisador tem como pressuposto formar um docente mais autônomo e observador de sua prática pedagógica, relacionando ensino com investigação. A formação de um novo professor requer sua iniciação em valores, representações, saberes e fazeres (SARTI, 2009) e o professor-pesquisador busca investigar sua prática e resolver seus desafios, sem distanciar-se da teoria. Para abranger esta formação, o presente estudo propõe como objetivo geral compreender como os estudantes do curso de licenciatura em Educação Física da UNESP de Rio Claro interpretam a sua prática profissional em situação de estágio supervisionado na perspectiva do professor-pesquisador. Como objetivos específicos buscou-se: (1)Observar se os estagiários são estimulados a refletir sobre sua ação pedagógica; (2)Verificar se a disciplina de Prática de Ensino se aproxima de uma proposta de formação do professor que investiga a sua prática; (3)Identificar os elementos constitutivos de uma ação reflexiva e; (4)Averiguar se os estudantes de educação física se reconhecem como professores que investigam a sua prática. Optou-se pela pesquisa qualitativa, tendo como técnicas a entrevista semiestruturada com os licenciandos, a fonte documental, a observação das aulas da disciplina de estágio na universidade e a análise de conteúdo. Na busca desses dados o trabalho de campo relacionado à observação foi realizado com 15 estudantes de Licenciatura em educação física do quarto ano - turma 1 da disciplina de Estágio Curricular Supervisionado . Para a entrevista foram selecionados 6 estudantes deste grupo.
