Étude des termes qui désignent le scorpion en égyptien ancien. Il apparaît que deux mots principaux sont utilisés, qui se retrouvent en copte, mais dans des dialectes différents. L'un des termes est utilisé dans le Delta, l'autre plus au sud. Cette répartition géographique semble remonter aux époques antérieures.

Le discours eurorégional. Indices convergents de légitimation d’un espace institutionnel

À partir d’un corpus de sites web institutionnels publiés par les eurorégions, l’article explore les indices discursifs qui tendent à légitimer la notion d’espace eurorégional. L’analyse lexicométrique et qualitative des énoncés multilingues aboutit au double constat d’une conformité aux objectifs normatifs de la politique européenne et d’une uniformisation des représentations eurorégionales, en dépit des langues et des zones transfrontalières émettrices.

Traitement de données issues d'un corpus écrit multilingue. Approche agile pour l'analyse du discours eurorégional

L'article présente quelques éléments de la procédure mise en place pour traiter un corpus écrit comportant 617 textes (près de 500 000 mots) relatifs aux eurorégions. Complexe et hétérogène à plusieurs titres (technique, linguistique, éditorial, générique, énonciatif), le corpus pose la difficulté majeure de l’appréhension de données multilingues (français, italien, espagnol, anglais, allemand, néerlandais). Sa manipulation a nécessité une réflexion adaptée et une démarche de modélisation que nous qualifions d’« agile » en raison de son caractère souple et itératif. La plateforme d’analyse élaborée permet de disposer de résultats utiles à l’analyse qualitative ultérieure du discours eurorégional. Elle articule un logiciel d'analyse morphosyntaxique éprouvé (TreeTagger) à des programmes (Perl) et à une base de données (SQLite) développés pour optimiser les requêtes multilingues simultanées et l’exportation automatique des résultats. Les fonctionnalités liées à la localisation contextualisée de mots- pivots, au recueil de dénominations et à la détection de segments répétés nous servent ici de guides pour exprimer les besoins de la recherche, les problèmes rencontrés et les solutions proposées. L'analyse d'observables récurrents, à savoir les notions de décision et de responsabilité, illustre le propos.

The Euroregional discourse. Increasing evidence towards legitimizing an institutional space

From a multilingual corpus composed of institutional websites published by the Euroregions, this article attempts to explore the discursive indications which tend to legitimize the notion of Euroregional space. The lexicometric and qualitative observations lead to a compliance to the normative objectives of the European politics and to the standardization of the euroregional representations, in spite of languages and issuing cross-border areas.

Sentinel-3 Mission Performance Centre: Ensuring a high-quality altimetric dataset

Sentinel-3A is scheduled for launch in Oct. 2015, with Sentinel-3B to follow 18 months later. Together these missions are to take oceanographic remote-sensing into a new operational realm. To achieve this a large number of processing, calibration and validation tasks have to be applied to their data in order to assess for quality, absolute bias, short-term changes and long-term drifts. ESA has funded the Sentinel-3 Mission Performance Centre (S3MPC) to carry out this evaluation on behalf of ESA and EUMETSAT. The S3MPC is run by a consortium led by ACRI [1] and this paper describes the work on the calibration/validation (cal/val) of the Surface Topography Mission (STM), which is co-ordinated by CLS and PML.

Claves para el reconocimiento de la dehesa como "paisaje cultural" de Unesco

La dehesa española y su homónimo portugués (el montado) son sistemas agrosilvopastoriles mediterráneos que proyectan un paisaje excepcional y de elevados valores patrimoniales. Sobre ellos se ciernen nuevas o renovadas amenazas que comprometen su futuro, en un momento (el actual) de creciente revalorización socio-institucional de sus paisajes. Su declaración como paisaje cultural de Unesco puede constituir un potente instrumento para atajar dichas amenazas, pero requiere de la clarificación de ciertos interrogantes relacionados con las escalas. Este artículo se adentra en el valor universal excepcional de la dehesa y propone algunas claves para sustentar su posible incorporación a la Lista de Patrimonio Mundial de Unesco. El análisis se acomete a nivel de tipos de paisaje, pero se avanzan algunos criterios para la selección de ámbitos concretos y representativos susceptibles de integrar una candidatura como “bien en serie”.

Maximum likelihood estimation of higher-order integer-valued autoregressive processes

In this article, we extend the earlier work of Freeland and McCabe [Journal of time Series Analysis (2004) Vol. 25, pp. 701–722] and develop a general framework for maximum likelihood (ML) analysis of higher-order integer-valued autoregressive processes. Our exposition includes the case where the innovation sequence has a Poisson distribution and the thinning is binomial. A recursive representation of the transition probability of the model is proposed. Based on this transition probability, we derive expressions for the score function and the Fisher information matrix, which form the basis for ML estimation and inference. Similar to the results in Freeland and McCabe (2004), we show that the score function and the Fisher information matrix can be neatly represented as conditional expectations. Using the INAR(2) speci?cation with binomial thinning and Poisson innovations, we examine both the asymptotic e?ciency and ?nite sample properties of the ML estimator in relation to the widely used conditional least
squares (CLS) and Yule–Walker (YW) estimators. We conclude that, if the Poisson assumption can be justi?ed, there are substantial gains to be had from using ML especially when the thinning parameters are large.

Le général de Gaulle vu par André Malraux - héros national ou européen ?

A partir du portrait de Charles de Gaulle brossé par André Malraux dans Les Chênes qu’on abat (1971), l’article cherche à analyser et à évaluer le statut de ce héros national français afin de déterminer dans quelle mesure le général peut être considéré comme un grand homme de l’Europe. Le statut et le destin du général étant étroitement liés à ceux de la France, l’article tente de caractériser la place de ce grand homme ainsi que celle de la France dans l’Europe d’après la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. Les deux perspectives temporelles de la durée, d’une part, et des événements, de l’autre, contribuent ici à nuancer le portrait de ce grand homme à la fois profondément engagé dans l’histoire de son temps et pourtant représentant d’une continuité historique. La pomice per il confezionamento di calcestruzzi leggeri strutturali:Meccanica dei materiali e delle strutture

Abstract. The possibility of using pumice aggregates for concrete in structural applications is discussed. In particular, the mix design of lightweight concrete for the manufacturing masonry units having proper strength, is discussed. Moreover, the design of the unit shape according to the technical code requirements and making it possible to arrange reinforcing steel bars is described. Reinforced bearing masonry walls, made with the concrete units in question, were manufactured and tests on the panels and on the designed units were carried out. For comparison, tests on concrete units and structural elements were carried out after the substitution of pumice aggregates with ordinary lightweight aggregates, proving that pumice can be considered an alternative to them. Sommario. L’uso della pomice come inerte per il confezionamento di calcestruzzo è poco diffuso sebbene essa sia stata usata già in antiche costruzioni come il Pantheon in Roma. In questo studio si affronta la possibilità di realizzare blocchi in calcestruzzo alleggerito con granuli di pomice. I blocchi, progettati e realizzati secondo le indicazioni normative correnti, sono stati usati per realizzare pannelli murari armati da sottoporre a carichi ciclici orizzontali. I risultati ottenuti, messi a confronto con quelli di pannelli realizzati con blocchi in cls alleggerito con argilla espansa, hanno mostrato la possibilità di utilizzare la pomice come validissima alternativa all’argilla espansa.
