High-pressure phase diagram of the drug mitotane in compressed and/or supercritical CO(2)

This work provides experimental phase diagram of mitotane, a drug used in the chemotherapy treatment of adrenocortical carcinoma, in compressed and/or supercritical CO(2). The synthetic-static method in a high-pressure variable-volume view cell coupled with a transmitted-light intensity probe was used to measure the solid-fluid (SF) equilibrium data. The phase equilibrium experiments were determined in temperature ranging from (298.2 to 333.1) K and pressure up to 22 MPa. Peng-Robinson equation of state (PR-EoS) with classical mixing rule was used to correlate the experimental data. Excellent agreement was found between experimental and calculated values. Development of a genetic method to estimate effective spawner numbers in the NPF and Queensland tiger prawn fisheries

OBJECTIVES: 1. To critically evaluate a variety of mathematical methods of calculating effective population size (Ne) by conducting comprehensive computer simulations and by analysis of empirical data collected from the Moreton Bay population of tiger prawns. 2. To lay the groundwork for the application of the technology in the NPF. 3. To produce software for the calculation of Ne, and to make it widely available.

Benchmarking regional planning arrangements for natural resource management 2004–05: Progress, constraints and future directions for regions

This report provides a benchmark of progress in regional planning for natural resource management in Queensland and the tropical savannas region of northern Australia during 2004. It is based on a review of regional plans and planning processes against a set of pre-defined criteria designed specifically to evaluate regional planning arrangements.
