Trayectoria tecnológica Web y el orden digital en Latinoamérica: reflexiones históricas desde Brasil

The emergence of the digital order renewed the Victorian civilizing ideal and strengthened a world order of techno-economic dependence. The new grand narrative is the urgency of digital transformation of societies; a dream pursued without reflection by the populations of the periphery that ended into in a collision between McLuhan's two informational orders: cold and hot societies. Latin America as part of the periphery did not participate in the development of the informatic technologies and its historical legacy made the appropriation of these technologies more difficult. This paper examines the historical circumstances of this process: the development of a discourse around the digital networks, the consequences of this social construction in the region, the fragile efforts of Brazil to create technology, and the entrance of IT networks in the region. The results showed that the status of this kind of research in the region is weak so we alert about its consequences. We concluded that to create an informational order that may serve as a space of self-affirmation, freedom and heterogeneity, it is necessary to have a deep knowledge of the social and historical context that created its basic technologies, but Latin America is indifferent in such regard. Information Science has a central role in the region within this process but it has not developed it yet.

A metacognição de usuários no processo de busca da informação em catálogo coletivo de biblioteca universitária

It was observed the metacognitive trajectory of three users from a public university library the state of Sao Paulo to identify the metacognitive strategies that were used during the process of searching for information in a online collective catalog. Its configuration was based on participants' oral reports obtained by the technique of individual verbal protocol to provide an actual configuration of the task ans a closer examination of its natural recovery of information systems. The data collection sessions were recorded, and the recorded data were transcribed and categorized into four units of analyses: 1- expertise, 2-regulation, 3-assessment of knowledge itself and 4- organization of cognitive process. The results showed that knowledge of meta-cognitive strategies affects the quality of the results obtained in the process of searching for information and interferes in the way it implements retrieval on-line catalog, a fact the emphasizes the need for studies to move forward on issues meta-cognition of users of information.

Biologia: da natureza à cultura. Da cultura para onde?

Vivemos um momento do mundo no qual o meio foi denominado pelo geógrafo Milton Santos, como Técnico-científico-informacional. Nesse meio, a produção científica está dominada por estruturas político-mercadológicas, que para sua manutenção e existência, enxergam e tratam os elementos naturais do planeta, como recursos ou instrumentos de uso e, as pessoas, como mão-de-obra e consumidores. O abismo que separa a humanidade da natureza, é um equívoco de percepção e tem criado conseqüências sócio-ambientais que passam a ameaçar as perspectivas de futuro, não só das gerações futuras, mas das gerações atuais. A ciência moderna, ainda orientada pelo pensamento cartesiano do século XVII, a ciência que tem como marca mais forte o “só acredito, vendo”, não vê que perdeu a objetividade e não está apta a responder aos problemas do mundo contemporâneo. Até mesmo porque, muitos deles são criados e perpetuados por esse instrumento de poder manipulado pela lógica capitalista. O título desse trabalho tem como intuito incitar uma reflexão séria a respeito do rumo que estamos dando à nossa existência no Planeta Terra enquanto seres biológico-culturais, com o objetivo de inspirar mudanças interiores capazes de gerar mudanças significativas em nossa cultura. Mudanças que ao menos cheirem a esperança no que se refere às possibilidades de melhorias em nosso quadro socioambiental. Vale salientar que “O Governo”, “A Ciência” e “O Mercado”, não são entidades obscuras que assombram nossas vidas, são pessoas como nós, para não dizer “nós mesmos”. Como integrantes da populosa comunidade humana, estamos carregados de valores, crenças e condutas que influenciam direta e indiretamente a nossa vida cotidiana, em termos de hábitos comportamentais, alimentares, de relacionamento interpessoal e com toda a comunidade de vida...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo)

A presente pesquisa consiste em uma reflexão sobre os trabalhos artísticos na web. Influenciados por manifestações antiarte, os trabalhos da rede quebraram paradigmas e propuseram um novo meio democrático de disseminação informacional. Apoiado nesses arranjos, será apresentado um projeto de trabalho que consiste em um site de crítica à mídia alienadora e ao universo de aparências do meio artístico.

Aluga-se meu apego: a história de vida dos anunciantes de classificados

A lógica instantânea da sociedade informacional não permite que a maioria dos meios de comunicação abra espaço para a história de vida das fontes jornalísticas, muito menos das anônimas. A instantaneidade com que os fatos têm de chegar ao receptor não é compatível com o exercício jornalístico que busca a densidade, o aprofundamento das relações sociais. “Aluga-se meu apego: a história de vida dos anunciantes de Classificados” busca apontar uma alternativa para o jornalismo oficial e superficial. Trata-se de um livro-reportagem de perfil que tenta mapear traços e mudanças da identidade dos anônimos, apontando-os como agentes sociais de suas próprias vidas e das vidas alheias. A partir dos preceitos da psicologia social e da antropologia, busca-se definir a identidade como um processo socialmente construído e sujeito a constantes mutações. Embuído dessa premissa, o Jornalismo Literário aparece como opção que permite o aprofundamento na cobertura dos fatos e a contextualização dos fenômenos decorrentes dele. O conteúdo do livro-reportagem possui dez perfis que contam fragmentos da vida, dos anseios e das angústias de anunciantes dos Classificados do Jornal da Cidade de Bauru (SP) que coabitam o município com as fontes oficiais utilizadas pelos jornais mas que, porém, não têm a mesma visibilidade nem são encarados como fundamentais para nossa realidade

Projeto D.A.N.T.E: desenvolvimento artístico de uma narrativa tecnológica

This monograph discuss the postmodernity social reality issues, emphasizing cultural, communicational, technological and informational extents. Via data collection through specific literature, and sources of different medias( internet, books, comic books, movies, novels, sociological, informational, technological, communicational and humanistic theories) behavioral patterns could be analyzed and the postmodern technological,informational and communicational reality as well, and how they mutually influence the “digital culture” construction (also called cyberculture). The results of this research were used to build a narrative which suits the new culture in development both in shape and in content: the scrip “Hotel Seol”. According to the Informational Society of the twentieth century, man develops society of the spectacle, where life becomes virtual and the individual ceases to be a spectator becoming the protagonist of wikiciberepopéia and organizations seeking to gain the attention and time of its consumers through new communication strategies. If the great epics of mankind brought mythical heroes, divine, with powers (mostly above the mortals), in the era of new technologies, the common man is in the hands the opportunity to become the hero of his own ciberepopéia. Increasingly resistant to traditional advertising, the new model of media consumer, the prosumer, the storytelling is transforming into one of the main communication tools of contemporary organizations. Offer your audience a creative and relevant content across several media platforms is a major brand positioning strategies currently used, in addition to providing the transmission of values and organizational principles in a subjective manner. Storytelling where objects are extensions of the human body (eg, the cell can be treated as an extension of the ears) is a strong indication of a technocratic society, because we can consider the new technologies as extensions of the human brain (as new store technologies, create meanings, share information through a specific language) and the individual who is on the edge of new technology ends up being excluded from certain social events. This new world tends to put an end to separation between seemingly contrary ideas, such as reality/fiction, natural/cultural and the man who emerges from this medium is not the creator, but rather, transforming what already exists. Regiões competitivas agrícolas e vulnerabilidade territorial: o papel do Consórcio Pesquisa Café

This academic work presents the final results of the undergraduate research about new agricultural technical systems developed by “Consórcio Pesquisa Café” (CPC), which main objective was to analyze the impacts of scientific inputs in different coffee producing regions, particularly in South of Minas Gerais. The creation of the CPC meets the demands of a global scientific coffee-growing (SANTOS, 2000) under development in the current period technical-scientific-informational (SANTOS, 2009). On this period, also called globalization, the technoscience, the information and the finances guide the actions of companies and institutions submitted by imperative of competitiveness on international market. The Brazilian’s coffee-growing regions (South of Minas Gerais, Cerrado Mineiro, Espírito Santos Ridge’s, Western Bahia, among others) on search of higher productivities, begin gather technical, informational and communicational densities (SANTOS, 2009). Considering these facts, we detail in this research, the major agricultural technical systems developed by “Consórcio Pesquisa Café” (CPC), expressed in new management techniques, new cultivars and new chemicals, mechanical and biological inputs.
