El terremoto como noticia: Relaciones de sucesos y otros textos del temblor de 1680.

Un suceso puntual como el terremoto de 1680 conmocionó la difusión contada de los acontecimientos de una manera extraordinaria, publicándose en varias ciudades las noticias de lo acontecido en Málaga, Granada y Sevilla. El interés creciente por estos impresos desde diferentes enfoques, centrados en nuestro caso en la historia cultural y de la comunicación impresa, nos llevará a una reconstrucción de la producción (elaborando un catálogo de textos relacionados con el terremoto) y a un intento de ordenación de las series con la finalidad de detectar la circulación de las noticias y su posible incidencia en los lectores de diferentes ciudades.

La imagen de la mujer madura y su ingrata representación en los textos literarios

El objetivo de este artículo es examinar las representaciones de mujeres maduras y/o viejas en el ámbito de la literatura española a partir del medioevo y hasta el siglo XX, a través de la revisión de obras que contaron con una importante difusión en su época. Esta indagación permite evidenciar que los papeles desempeñados por este tipo de personaje suelen estar cargados, en la gran mayoría de los casos, de connotaciones negativas. Este fenómeno encuentra su explicación en el temor que causa en el imaginario masculino la figura de la mujer sabia e inteligente, temor que se traduce en el trato peyorativo hacia estos personajes, o bien en su denigración.

La complicidad con otros textos: las lecturas que asoman en las obras literarias.

Si hoy un filólogo quiere hacer un estudio a fondo de la obra de un escritor y sabe que tiene a mano su biblioteca, no dudará en consultarla: ella es el laboratorio de su creación literaria. Miguel de Cervantes nos dio una aguja para navegar por la mente o la actuación de su don Quijote en el capítulo del escrutinio de su biblioteca; no se mencionan todos los libros que en ella había, sino sólo aquellos que orientan al lector sobre lo que el hidalgo manchego sabe o piensa hacer imitando a sus héroes literarios.

Apartar y girar los ojos en los textos latinos

This article presents some of the conclusions drawn from our research on eye gestures in Latin texts. This investigation is part of a broader study on gestures in Ancient Rome. We have established a classification of eye gestures that comprises two major categories based on the nature of the gestures: gestures that involve eyelid movements and those that consist of iris movements. This paper focuses on two gestures which belong to this second category: staring and rolling the eyes. We analyse the way these gestures were made, how they were referred to by Roman writers and the meanings that may be inferred from their use in literary texts.

Llegir críticament textos d'història

La història és una disciplina científica que opera en base a evidències del passat. Tot allò que s'ha produït en un altre temps (objectes, construccions, paisatges, conductes, costums) és susceptible de ser analitzat i interpretat de manera crítica per l'historiador. Qualsevol tipus de text confegit en un altre temps o a partir d'informacions d'un temps anterior, també esdevé, per definició, una evidència històrica, ja sigui una recepta de farmàcia, una novel·la, un informe tècnic o un llibre d'història. En aquest sentit, gairebé tots els textos són d'història. L'historiador no analitza el text de la mateixa manera que ho poden fer des d'altres disciplines; un text té interès en tant que subministra informació, i el mètode de treball de l'historiador és el que permet assolir-la. Els alumnes de primària i secundària s'han de formar en continguts factuals, conceptuals i en mètode. L'anàlisi d'un document amb la metodologia d l'historiador és una bona praxi per formar individus amb capacitat crítica.

Hund's maximum multiplicity rule as stated in most elementary and intermediate level textbooks on general and inorganic chemistry and usually taught at the college and undergraduate level is incorrect. It is true that electrons entering a subshell of an atom tend to occupy the orbitals singly as far as possible but not necessarily with parallel spins. Also, proper definitions and correct use of terms like configuration, microstate, spectroscopic term, level and state are essential if confusion on the part of the student, especially the beginner, is to be avoided.

Hidróxidos duplos lamelares: síntese, estrutura, propriedades e aplicações

The layered double hydroxides, known as anionic clays and represented by the general formula [M2+1-x M3+x (OH) 2]x+ Am-x/m·nH 2O, are a group of materials which are of much interest currently. They present a variety of potential applications as adsorbents, catalysts and catalyst support, ion-exchangers, antacids and as a polymer stabilizer. It is possible to obtain a broad variety of layered double hydroxides (LDHs), depending on the identity and ratio of the cations M2+ and M3+, as well as the interlamelar anion. The aim of this review is to give out some information about this class of materials, concerning to the synthesis, characterization, properties and applications.

A computational interface, using sybyl format as an input file, was created in order to calculate connectivity indexes. After generation and classification of all substructures, which derive from the molecular structure, this interface calculates all possible orders from zero up to the maximun number of bonds in the molecule. Other topological indexes such as Wiener and Schultz indexes can also be calculated.

Entendendo estrutura molecular com a molécula de hidrogênio ionizada

In this paper a general view about the modern molecular structure theory is developed discussing the ionized hydrogen molecule. We introduce some necessary approximation methods for the electronic and nuclear spectra study adopting a systematic approach. In addition though, we have performed calculations in order to illustrate these methods.

Determinação da estrutura molecular do ciclooctano por métodos ab initio e difração de elétrons na fase gasosa

The determination of the molecular structure of molecules is of fundamental importance in chemistry. X-rays and electron diffraction methods constitute in important tools for the elucidation of the molecular structure of systems in the solid state and gas phase, respectively. The use of quantum mechanical molecular orbital ab initio methods offer an alternative for conformational analysis studies. Comparison between theoretical results and those obtained experimentally in the gas phase can make a significant contribution for an unambiguous determination of the geometrical parameters. In this article the determination of the molecular structure of the cyclooctane molecule by electron diffraction in the gas phase and ab initio calculations will be addressed, providing an example of a comparative analysis of theoretical and experimental predictions.
