El desarrollo local en la ciudad media europea ante los proyectos de T.A.V.

La ciudad media o intermedia europea ha sido calificada de «OGNI» (Objeto Geográfico No Identificado) por la falta de teorizaciones propias. Esta afirmación es especialmente cierta en el campo del desarrollo local, en las particularidades que juegan en el proceso de aprovechamiento de los recursos locales para crear un desarrollo endógeno. Esta investigación pretende, en primer lugar, recoger las opiniones de varios autores e instituciones para definir las características cuantitativas y cualitativas de esta realidad urbana. En segundo lugar, se quiere contextualizar la ciudad media en el territorio europeo y en las políticas a esta escala. Finalmente, se describen tres ejemplos de desarrollo local en ciudades medias a partir de la implantación del Tren de Alta Velocidad para mostrar cuáles son los factores diferenciales del desarrollo local en este fenómeno urbano

The archives of the Prefecture of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs provide a perspective from which to reconstruct the broad range of legal circumstances in which Spanish residents in various regions of the country find themselves immersed (assets of relatives who have died without wills or family in Peru, political conflicts, legal problems -whether criminal or civil as a result of business activities- or the requested intervention ofconsular authorities when decisions considered detrimental to their compatriots are made by prefects and sub-prefects). The legal framework protecting Spanish nationals in Peru is analysed to understand the mechanisms of immigration in the country and the mechanisms that led them to keep their Spanish nationality, even after establishing wide-reaching family and business interests

The change in dynasty brought with it a series of transformations to Peruvian viceroyalty political culture. Analysis is made of the government of the Marquis of Castelldosrius (1707-1710) who, in his eagerness to increase a meagre patrimony, was to attenuate his conflicts with the Creole sectors and the Consulate, with a style of politics that was characterised by courtly and cultural uses that included traditions that were in vogue in the courts of Louis XIV and in his native Catalonia

Juan González-Blanco de Luaces: el traductor desconocido de la posguerra española.

Poco se ha escrito hasta el momento sobre quien podría ser denominado el traductor más prolífico de la posguerra española: Juan González-Blanco. de Luaces. En la década de los cuarenta publicó más de cien traducciones al español. Biógrafo, novelista y poeta, Luaces fue uno de tantos intelectuales españoles cuya trayectoria profesional se vio truncada por el estallido de la Guerra Civil española y la victoria del bando ¿nacional¿. La imposición de la dictadura franquista y la subsiguiente censura le obligó a dejar de lado su labor de escritor para dedicarse en cuerpo y alma al oficio de la traducción y poder, así, mantener a su familia. El objeto del siguiente artículo es relatar la vida de este personaje abandonado en el olvido con el afán de contribuir a completar, de forma modesta, la memoria histórica de un período de nuestra historia en el que aún quedan muchas ausencias por suplir.

The glasses of the transept's rosette of the Cathedral of Tarragona: characterization, classification and decay.

The glasses of the rosette forming the main window of the transept of the Gothic Cathedral of Tarragona have been characterised by means of SEM/EDS, XRD, FTIR and electronic microprobe. The multivariate statistical treatment of these data allow to establish a classification of the samples forming groups having an historical significance and reflecting ancient restorations. Furthermore, the decay patterns and mechanisms have been determined and the weathering by-products characterised. It has been demonstrated a clear influence of the bioactivity in the decay of these glasses, which activity is partially controlled by the chemical composition of the glasses.

The Ramon Margalez Prize in Ecology is awarded annually by the Goverment of Catalonia to recognize people who have distinghished themselves in the field of ecological science. El tratamiento numérico de la realidad. Reflexiones sobre la importancia actual de la estadística en la Sociedad de la Información.

La estadística se ha convertido en un método práctico para describir los valores de datos económicos, políticos, sociales, psicológicos, médicos, biológicos y físicos, como herramienta para relacionar y analizar dichos datos. El trabajo del estadístico no consiste sólo en obtener, reunir o tabular los datos, sino sobre todo el proceso de interpretación de esa información solo o en colaboración con los expertos en cada ámbito. A pesar de que es imposible entender la Sociedad de la Información sin la estadística, es preocupante la situación actual de las ciencias matemáticas y más concretamente de la estadística, ya que a pesar de su imprescindibilidad existe una falta de vocación entre los jóvenes por su estudio y uso, ya sea por su dificultad matemática, desconocimiento u otros motivos. Este artículo pretende reflexionar sobre la importancia de la misma en la sociedad actual que permite tratar numéricamente la realidad.

La sección cartográfica del Estado Mayor Central durante la Segunda República (1931-1936).

Este artículo examina la actividad de la Sección Cartográfica del Estado Mayor Central, que era la principal institución cartográfica del Ejército de Tierra, durante la Segunda República. Se discute la tesis de la supuesta parálisis de los servicios cartográficos sostenida por la historiografía franquista, se valora el alcance de la reforma de la cartografía militar llevada a término por las autoridades republicanas, y se presentan evidencias de la labor realizada entre 1931 y 1936. Dentro de esta labor se destaca el proyecto y las primeras realizaciones del Plano Director a escala 1:25.000, y la actividad de la Sección topográfica de la 1.ª División Orgánica radicada en Madrid

Teucrium × mailhoi Giraudias nothosubsp. orientalis nova, un nou híbrid del vessant meridional dels Pirineus.- Donem notícia de l"observació d"una petita població de l"híbrid entre Teucrium aureum Schreb. subsp. aureum i T. pyrenaicum L. subsp. guarensis P. Monts. al vessant sud de la serra de Moixeró (Pirineus orientals), que proposem com a nova notosubespècie. Fem també una comparació morfològica entre l"híbrid i els dos presumptes parentals, i en presentem imatges de materials d"herbari i de la població natural.

El turismo como estrategia de desarrollo en Cuba

El turismo se ha convertido en una actividad económica que, cada vez tiene mayor importancia en el desarrollo económico, social y medio ambiental. Este hecho adquiere una especial relevancia en el caso de Cuba. La actividad turística es vista como una forma de equilibrar la balanza de pagos, una fuente de divisas y de empleo. Sin embargo, en momentos de incertidumbre económica y política como son los actuales, los peligros de sustituir un monocultivo (del azúcar) por otro (el turismo) son muy grandes y se hace necesario revisar su utilización como vía para el desarrollo

Obtención de vidrio a partir de residuos de la minería del estaño en Bolivia

Manufacturing of glass from tin mining tailings in Bolivia Tailings from mining activities in Bolivia represent an environmental problem. In the vicinity of the tin mines of Llallagua,Potosí department, there are large dumps and tailings. We present a study of the use of these wastes as raw materials for the manufacture of glass. This procedure aims to contribute to environmental remediation of mining areas through the vitrification, a process which offers an alternative for stabilization of hazardous waste. In addition, the marketing of the obtained product would provide an additional income to the mining areas. For this study three samples of mining waste, with grain size between sand and silt, were used. The chemical composition of these raw materials, determined by X-ray fluorescence, is granitic, with high contents of heavy metals. On the basis of its composition, glass were made from silica glass by adding CaCO3 and Na2CO3. The thermal cycle has been determined from TDA. Tg values of glass range from 626º to 709 °C. Leaching tests of the obtained glasses confirm their capacity to retain heavy metals.

[spa]Desde la década de 1970 el feminismo ha significado una de las profundizaciones críticas m.s productivas del legado del pensamiento político de la modernidad. El presente artículo atiende al cuestionamiento de las modernas nociones de libertad y comunidad políticas que Linda Zerilli ha llevado a cabo en su lectura de Hannah Arendt y de Ludwig Wittgenstein. A partir de ah. y de la reciente querella en torno al diformismo sexual, se muestra la necesidad de repensar la relación entre teoría y praxis más allá de la concepción moderna, presente en buena parte de la teoría feminista contemporánea. [eng]Since the 1970s feminism has signified one of the most productive critical reconsiderations of modern political thought legacy. This article examines the questioning ofmodern notions of political freedom and political community that Linda Zerilli has undertaken in her reading of Hannah Arendt and Ludwig Wittgenstein. On this basis and on criticism of sexual dimorphism, the article shows the need to rethink the relationship between theory and praxis beyond itsmodern conception, a feature present in much of contemporary feminist theory.

Consumption of macrophytes by invertebrates in Tancada lagoon (NE Spain)

Gammarus aequicauda and Sphaeroma hookeri are the most abundant macroinvertebrates on Ruppia cirrhosa (1275 and 1290 individuals.m-2) and Potamogeton pectinatus (140 and 680 individuals. m-2) in Tancada lagoon, a Mediterranean coastal lagoon in the Ebro Delta (NE Spain). Consumption and assimilation efficiencies were calculated from bell jar experiments. Gammarus grazing effects are higher than Sphaeroma on both Ruppia cirrhosa and Potamogeton pectinatus. Green Ruppia leaves lost 0.3 mg per mg Gammarus per day, while Potamogeton leaves lost 0.2 mg per mg Gammarus per day. Decomposing Ruppia leaves lost 0.35-0.54 mg per mg Gammarus per day. Losses of weight by both Ruppia and Potamogeton due to Sphaeroma feeding were less than half those by Gammarus. Assimilation efficiencies are higher for Gammarus (44-78% feeding on Ruppia 2% feeding on Potamogeton) than for Sphaeroma (26-48%) feeding on Ruppia). These assimilation efficiencies were higher than those reported by other authors working at higher latitudes perhaps because of the higher temperature under which the experiments were carried out.
