Proyecto que pretende que los ni??os se aproximen al ordenador utilizado como recurso did??ctico, y de conseguir su integraci??n en la clase. Los objetivos son incorporar el ordenador como recurso en el proceso de ense??anza; facilitar la adquisici??n y descubrimiento de destrezas y capacidades a trav??s de la interacci??n con otros compa??eros y adultos; familiarizar a los ni??os con elementos habituales en la vida cotidiana, como son los ordenadores; familiarizar a los educadores con la utilizaci??n de nuevas tecnolog??as para crear situaciones de aprendizaje motivadoras, que den la posibilidad de desarrollar la creatividad. La metodolog??a se caracteriza por la flexibilidad y las necesidades de cada alumno. Las actividades se plantean dentro de la estrategia del juego por rincones en el aula y se organizan por peque??os grupos e individualmente. La evaluaci??n se realiza a trav??s de fichas de observaci??n por los alumnos, autoevaluaci??n de los educadores, y reuniones. Se elaboran materiales basados en el programa Clic, como puzzles, asociaciones, sonidos de animales, y programas de colorear.

Se presenta un estudio elaborado por la inspección de educación de la Comunidad de Madrid. El objetivo principal es realizar el primer nivel de supervisión de los nuevos currículos en todos los centros que impartirán Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato en el curso académico 2003-2004, sin perjuicio de realizar posteriormente un seguimiento más profundo por muestreo en un número limitado de centros educativos.

Cuaderno de trabajo diseñado para trabajar la fonética junto con el programa de estudios primarios. Treinta y seis tarjetas muestran en minúscula las letras del alfabeto y algunos conceptos clave, asociadas a una imagen para ayudar a adivinar el sonido de la letra de la carta. Generalmente a esta edad el niño no lee, pero sí puede reconocer la letra para identificarla al principio o en medio de las palabras. Al final de la publicación están las soluciones a los ejercicios propuestos.

A study was conducted on the methods of basis set superposition error (BSSE)-free geometry optimization and frequency calculations in clusters larger than a dimer. In particular, three different counterpoise schemes were critically examined. The AB, monomer, 3,5-bis(3-hydroxylprop-1-ynyl)benzoic acid 1, has been synthesized using a Sonogashira cross-coupling with a palladium catalyst system developed for use with deactivated aryl halides. Numerous condensation methods have then been assessed in the homopolymerization of the acid-diol monomer 1 to afford hyperbranched polyesters. However, as a result of the thermal instability of the monomer, direct thermal polymerizations could not be employed. Alternative approaches using carbodiimide-coupling reagents enabled the production of soluble polyesters possessing molecular weights and degrees of branching ranging from 2500 to 11,000 and 0.22 to 0.33, respectively. The palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of 3,4-bis(tributylstannyl)furan-2(5H)-one using chelating ligand or polar solvent gives mixtures of single and double coupled products, even when one equivalent of halide coupling partner is used. After optimization, the double coupling reaction was shown to be general, with the use of two equivalents of aryl iodides giving 3,4-disubstituted furanones, The reaction using benzyl bromides proceeds at lower temperatures than the corresponding coupling using aryl iodides, giving dibenzylfuranones. The methodology has been exemplified in a synthesis of (+/-)-hinokinin.

In the field of conducting polymers, both poly(pyrrole) and poly(thiophene) have been investigated extensively and are used currently in a wide variety of applications including microelectronics, electrode materials, sensors and optoelectronics. Amongst these polymers, 3- and 3,4- substituted poly(pyrroles) and poly(thiophenes) have received significant attention in recent years as demonstrated by the increase in the number of patents and publications that describe their use. This review covers the development in the synthesis of 3- and 3,4- Substituted poly(pyrroles) and poly(thiophenes) over the last 30 years, their polymerisation in addition to describing the material properties and applications of the resulting polymers. In particular, this review focuses upon the variety of methodologies employed for the synthesis of 3- and 3,4-substituted pyrroles and thiophenes as well as upon the broad range of functional groups that can be attached to the heterocyclic ring system in order to tailor the properties of the resulting polymers.

Substituted amphetamines such as p-chloroamphetamine and the abused drug methylenedioxymethamphetamine cause selective destruction of serotonin axons in rats, by unknown mechanisms. Since some serotonin neurones also express neuronal nitric oxide synthase, which has been implicated in neurotoxicity, the present study was undertaken to determine whether nitric oxide synthase expressing serotonin neurones are selectively vulnerable to methylenedioxymethamphetamine or p-chloroamphetamine. Using double-labeling immunocytochemistry and double in situ hybridization for nitric oxide synthase and the serotonin transporter, it was confirmed that about two thirds of serotonergic cell bodies in the dorsal raphe nucleus expressed nitric oxide synthase, however few if any serotonin transporter immunoreactive axons in striatum expressed nitric oxide synthase at detectable levels. Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (30 mg/kg) or p-chloroamphetamine (2 x 10 mg/kg) was administered to Sprague-Dawley rats, and 7 days after drug administration there were modest decreases in the levels of serotonin transporter protein in frontal cortex, and striatum using Western blotting, even though axonal loss could be clearly seen by immunostaining. p-Chloroamphetamine or methylenedioxymethamphetamine administration did not alter the level of nitric oxide synthase in striatum or frontal cortex, determined by Western blotting. Analysis of serotonin neuronal cell bodies 7 days after p-chloroamphetamine treatment, revealed a net down-regulation of serotonin transporter mRNA levels, and a profound change in expression of nitric oxide synthase, with 33% of serotonin transporter mRNA positive cells containing nitric oxide synthase mRNA, compared with 65% in control animals. Altogether these results support the hypothesis that serotonin neurones which express nitric oxide synthase are most vulnerable to substituted amphetamine toxicity, supporting the concept that the selective vulnerability of serotonin neurones has a molecular basis.

On stirring an equimolar mixture of 4-oxo-4H-chromene-3-carbaldehyde, ninhydrin and cyclohexyl isocyanide in CH(2)Cl(2)-MeOH (7: 1) at room temperature produces 3-cyclohexylimino-1-(2-hydroxy-1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-yl)-1,3-dihydro-9H-furo[3,4-b]chromen-9-one which on hydrolysis produces 1-(2-hydroxy-1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-yl)-1H-furo[3,4-b]chromene-3,9-dione. The structure of the latter compound was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction
