One tthird of the world population is infected with Toxoplasma gondii, in most cases, asymptomatic. There are records of infection in birds and mammals, including the dog. Systemic clinical signs of canine toxoplasmosis are variable, however, the animals may manifest ocular signs: anterior mononuclear uveitis, retinitis, choroiditis, extraocular myositis, scleritis and optic neuritis. For centuries have studied the man in a segmented manner, which today, even with the emergence of new forms of research, holistic, we see that the influence of centuries of construction of scientific knowledge has taken root in such a way that even now with new understandings about matter and its structure pointing to systemic relations, studies are still largely dichotomized by dividing body, mind and environment. This paper is a literature review on several sources of knowledge, seeking an interdisciplinary way in physics, chemistry, biology, psychology and physical education, relate the body, mind and their interactions with the environment, building a more current concept of body. The studies showed that the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and environmental aspects involve an interaction continues between human been with the world, which changes shapes, balances and transactions, and thus human behavior. In general the human breath doesn't have smell or it is so only lightly perceptible to the surrounding ones, varying of pleasant the unpleasant, being taken in consideration the sensibility of the person. Halitosis or bad breath doesn't truly represent a disease, being present in a considerable portion of the population. Ethiologically exist several involved factors, could make an appointment breathing, gastric intestinal, organic and psychic disturbances and mainly oral factors, being the microbial colonization of the tongue the most common, beside the pathological situations involving periodontitis, as necrotizing ulcerative gengivitis. For representing a true obstacle biopsicossocial, the halitosis it influences directally in the family life, work, the patients' atmosphere social, being its diagnosis specific, demanding in certain occasions treatment multidisciplinar. In that sense, the present study if report to a literary revision of the theme, approaching the main aspects of the development of the halitosis, as well as its biological origin and its clinical implications.

Mobilidade, Acessibilidade e Design: uma relação necessária

Mobility and accessibility are terms that are related to each other. Large urban centers now face problems arising from rapid population growth and among them are problems inherent to mobility and accessibility. The aim of this paper was to conduct a literature review, from a review in journals and books on the issue of mobility in urban centers, showing how mobility is associated with accessibility. A key finding was that the new social reality is the challenge for the future planning of cities and in these cases should be used the knowledge of design, architecture, urbanism and urban planning to address these problems.

Gestão da experiência de compra: o caso Dama de Copas

Esta investigação pretende entender de que forma as marcas podem utilizar uma estratégia baseada em proporcionar experiências e até que ponto essa estratégia pode contribuir para a sua satisfação e lealdade. Abordando um estudo de caso real - a marca Dama de Copas - será feita uma análise aos elementos diferenciadores do ponto de venda, avaliando a chamada in-store experience e compreendendo de que forma esta influencia as consumidoras. Para isso o estudo será iniciado com uma revisão literária em que se desenvolverão os conceitos associados ao tema, seguido da abordagem metodológica que, apesar de ser qualitativa, com recurso a observações, recorre à utilização de um inquérito para objetivar as questões relacionadas com a satisfação e lealdade. Nesse sentido, foi possível concluir que os diferentes elementos experienciais da loja são capazes de proporcionar bons momentos aos seus clientes, tendo estes influencia no seu nível de satisfação e, consequentemente, no sentimento de lealdade para com a marca. Esta investigação tem ainda um contributo importante para a marca em questão uma vez que, faz uma análise das estratégias utilizadas por outras marcas, através de um benchmarking, extraindo-se daí, um conjunto de sugestões e recomendações que se poderão mostrar relevantes para o negócio.

miRNAS circulantes como biomarcadores para fibrilação atrial aguda

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia. Some non-coding RNAs (miRNAs) have been involved in regulatory activity in arrhythmogenesis, targeting genes that contribute to the development of AF. The present study aimed to evaluate the expression of candidate miRNAs in plasma from patients with AF and new-onset AF and its application as future markers for diagnosis and monitoring of disease. miR-21, miR-133a, miR-133b, miR-150, miR-328 and miR-499 were selected as targets in this study through a prior literature review. They were isolated from plas-ma of individuals aged from 20 to 85 years old with AF (n = 17), new-onset AF (n = 5) and without AF (n = 15), where the latter was the control group. The results were ana-lyzed by Real-Time PCR (RT-PCR) with miScript SYBR Green PCR. We observed that miR-21, miR-133b, miR-328 and miR-499 had different levels of expression be-tween the three groups (p <0.05). Increased expression of miR-21 (0.6-fold), miR-133b (1.4-fold), miR-328 (2.0-fold) and miR-499 (2.3-fold) in patients with new-onset AF when compared to AF and control subjects. The miR-133a and miR-150 expression did not differ among the groups. miR-21, miR-133b, miR-328 and miR-499 may be potential biomarkers for AF as well as for new-onset AF, for monitoring and for the di-agnosis. These findings may contribute to the understanding of the process that trig-gers AF and suggest application these molecules as future biomarkers for AF.

Atividade Física e Diabetes tipo 1 em crianças: estudo de caso para análise de variações das concentrações glicémicas ao longo de 6 meses

Considerada como uma das mais importantes doenças crónicas na infância, a diabetes mellitus tipo 1 foi a base para a realização deste estudo de caso. A fim de conhecer e compreender as variações das concentrações glicémicas numa criança desportista com diabetes tipo 1, ao longo de 6 meses, foram efetuados registos diários das suas concentrações de glicémia em 5 diferentes momentos do dia (antes das refeições e durante o sono); registo dos momentos de prática de exercício físico; entrevista à enfermeira responsável pelo acompanhamento do referido indivíduo; conversas com os progenitores e uma recolha bibliográfica que esclarecesse toda a dinâmica e rotinas de crianças com diabetes mellitus tipo 1, bem como o seu efeito na prática desportiva, tentando perceber os benefícios que poderá induzir perante esta condição de saúde. Através da associação entre os resultados obtidos e a revisão literária, foi possível perceber a causa de ocorrência de híper e hipoglicémias. Ademais, foi possível inferir que a prática desportiva em crianças com diabetes mellitus tipo 1 é, na grande maioria dos casos, benéfica. Concluindo, o desporto proporciona, para além dos efeitos já conhecidos, uma diminuição na insulina necessária para um adequando equilíbrio glicémico e adaptações fisiológicas que melhoram a condição de saúde.

Importância do conhecimento da diabetes mellitus pelo médico dentista

Este estudo tem como tema a “Importância do conhecimento da Diabetes Mellitus pelo médico dentista”, com o objetivo de através da revisão literária mostrar ao Médico Dentista a importância de uma boa anamnese e exame clínico para a detecção de doenças sistêmicas como a Diabetes Mellitus que interfere na saúde bucal do paciente e consequentemente no tratamento e em seu prognóstico. Devido a todos os transtornos que a diabetes provoca, a responsabilidade do médico dentista se torna cada vez maior tendo a responsabilidade de diminuir os focos de infecção de origem bucal que contribuem na descompensação e evitando condutas que possam comprometer o estado geral de saúde do paciente. Por isso, é de extrema importância que se estabeleça o planejamento dos cuidados especiais para o atendimento odontológico dos pacientes com diabetes, diminuindo o risco de intercorrências durante e após o atendimento.
