Descripción del Negocio Kinderpup es una guardería para perros como mascota ubicada en el centro comercial Unicentro en la ciudad de Bogotá, creada para atender las necesidades de las personas propietarias de éstas mascotas, las cuales presentan inconvenientes al dar un paseo por varios lugares en los cuales no es permitido el acceso de estos animales. Los lugares más comunes son los centros comerciales, y es precisamente por esto que el proyecto se concentra en este tipo de establecimientos. El objetivo es ofrecer tranquilidad y comodidad a los usuarios de nuestros servicios, brindando atención y cariño a sus mascotas y entendiéndolas como parte importante de las familias. Para cumplir con nuestro objetivo, Kinderpup contará con personal calificado siempre dispuesto a prestar servicios de guardería, veterinaria, peluquería y entrenamiento, esenciales para mantener a las mascotas saludables, hermosas y felices. El servicio de peluquería incluye corte de pelo, arreglo de uñas y dientes; entrenamiento, incluye salida a pasear alrededor del centro comercial y adiestramiento por un entrenador capacitado. El servicio veterinario incluye diagnostico, historia clínica del canino, revisión general y recomendaciones. También se cuenta con artículos para la venta, concentrado y productos de estética animal, que podrán ser adquiridos por los usuarios de las mascotas en la sede de Kinderpup. Mercado En Colombia actualmente no existe un espacio adecuado para atender a las mascotas en los centros comerciales, aún se mantiene prohibido el acceso de animales a estos establecimientos y las personas propietarias de mascotas que frecuentan estos lugares plantean la necesidad de proporcionar un espacio para que puedan dejar sus animales allí. Dado a lo que sugiere el mercado potencial y a la localización central del centro comercial Unicentro, se da la oportunidad de ofrecer diferentes servicios además de guardería a las personas de estratos 4, 5 y 6 que frecuentan los centros comerciales y que necesitan un lugar de confianza para dejar a sus mascotas cuando tengan que salir y no los puedan llevar, quieran peluquear a su perro o adiestrarlo. De igual manera, este servicio es muy beneficioso para las personas que viven alrededor del centro comercial debido a que durante la semana tienen la preocupación de dejar a su mascota sola en casa o con una persona inexperta. Según el estudio de mercados, existe un porcentaje interesante de personas que visitan los establecimientos comerciales en fines de semana, el 26% de 100 personas encuestadas asisten al centro comercial entre 2 y 3 veces al mes y el 22%, van 4 veces al mes, además el 44% de los encuestados dicen que el centro comercial de su preferencia es Unicentro y una cifra todavía más significativa es que el 78% de las personas llevarían a su perro al centro comercial si esto no fuera prohibido. Operaciones El ciclo de servicio comienza a partir de que el cliente se acerca a solicitar información en la recepción de Kinderpup, al recibir un volante publicitario o comunicándose con nosotros por teléfono o email. A partir del momento en que las personas deseen dejar su mascota a nuestro cuidado, se procede a un acercamiento con la mascota que le proporcione tranquilidad tanto a la mascota como a su amo y, a continuación se ejecuta el servicio indicado según el caso. Equipo de Gestión El equipo gestor de Kinderpup estará formado por los siguientes integrantes:  Silvia Valencia: Veterinaria, responsable de asesorar sobre el cuidado de las mascotas, las normas de higiene y protección y administrar la guardería.  José Segura: Promotor de ventas encargado de hacer los contactos con las empresas proveedoras, agencias de publicidad y Unicentro.  Ana María Romero: Directora encargada de dirigir a los empleados y de planear las estrategias de mercadeo y competitividad. Viabilidad económica La inversión a realizar es de $47’599.463, financiados en un 60% por una entidad financiera, se asume un incremento en ventas del 4% según la investigación de mercados, además un aumento de los costos y precios en un 3%. Over the past decade, the independent sales contractor (ISC) has emerged as both an important distribution channel and a management challenge. This study makes two contributions to this evolving field. First, it explores the interrelations of the psychological contract with sales performance, voluntary turnover and organisational advocacy of ISCs, which have hitherto been largely unexplored. Second, it examines differences between high- and low-performing sales contractors on these linkages, due to findings in the literature that a small number of sales contractors often achieve a majority of sales. Based on survey data as well as 7 years of contractor-level data related to sales performance and voluntary turnover (n = 189), results indicate that psychological contract fulfilment and perceived dependency are important determinants of subsequent sales performance, voluntary turnover and organisational advocacy, with significant differences reported between high- and low-performing ISCs. A notable finding pertinent for sales managers responsible for managing ISCs is that high-performing sales contractors are motivated by psychological contract fulfilment and a low perception of dependency, while low-performing sales contractors are more likely to act as advocates for the firm due to perceived dependency, but may concurrently engage in organisational advocacy as a means to leave the firm.

L’elaborato ha lo scopo di presentare le nuove opportunità di business offerte dal Web. Il rivoluzionario cambiamento che la pervasività della Rete e tutte le attività correlate stanno portando, ha posto le aziende davanti ad un diverso modo di relazionarsi con i propri consumatori, che sono sempre più informati, consapevoli ed esigenti, e con la concorrenza. La sfida da accettare per rimanere competitivi sul mercato è significativa e il mutamento in rapido sviluppo: gli aspetti che contraddistinguono questo nuovo paradigma digitale sono, infatti, velocità, mutevolezza, ma al tempo stesso misurabilità, ponderabilità, previsione. Grazie agli strumenti tecnologici a disposizione e alle dinamiche proprie dei diversi spazi web (siti, social network, blog, forum) è possibile tracciare più facilmente, rispetto al passato, l’impatto di iniziative, lanci di prodotto, promozioni e pubblicità, misurandone il ritorno sull’investimento, oltre che la percezione dell’utente finale. Un approccio datacentrico al marketing, attraverso analisi di monitoraggio della rete, permette quindi al brand investimenti più mirati e ponderati sulla base di stime e previsioni. Tra le più significative strategie di marketing digitale sono citate: social advertising, keyword advertising, digital PR, social media, email marketing e molte altre. Sono riportate anche due case history: una come ottimo esempio di co-creation in cui il brand ha coinvolto direttamente il pubblico nel processo di produzione del prodotto, affidando ai fan della Pagina Facebook ufficiale la scelta dei gusti degli yogurt da mettere in vendita. La seconda, caso internazionale di lead generation, ha permesso al brand di misurare la conversione dei visitatori del sito (previa compilazione di popin) in reali acquirenti, collegando i dati di traffico del sito a quelli delle vendite. Esempio di come online e offline comunichino strettamente.

Producers in the Chariton Valley Beef organization have marketed more than 10,000 head of cattle into grid markets over the past three years. Data from 134 lots were summarized, with 3,791 head of cattle marketed into four grid markets. Producers averaged $26.05 per head premiums. Premiums and discounts ranged from a positive $79.01 to a negative $40.44 on tots delivered.

This study assessed the impact of cigarette advertising on adolescent susceptibility to smoking in the Hempstead and Hitchcock Independent School Districts. A convenience sample of 217 youths, 10-19 years of age was recruited in the study. Students completed both a paper-and-pencil and a computer-aided questionnaire in April 1996. Adolescents were defined as susceptible to smoking if they could not definitely rule out the possibility of future smoking. For the analysis, an index was devised: a 5-point index of an individual's receptivity to cigarette advertising. The index is determined by the number of positive responses to five survey items (recognizing cigarette brand logos, recognizing cigarette advertisement's pictures, recognizing cigarette brand slogans, evaluating adolescent attitudes toward cigarette advertising, and the degree to which adolescents were exposed to cigarette advertisements). Using logistic regression, we assessed the independent importance of the index in predicting susceptibility to smoking and ever smoking after adjusting for sociodemographic variables, perceived school performance and family composition. Of students surveyed, 54.4% of students appeared to have started the smoking uptake process as measured by susceptibility to smoking. Camel was recognized by the majority of students (88%), followed by Marlboro (41.5%) and Newport (40.1%). The pattern for recognition of the cigarette advertisements was the same as the pattern of market for cigarette. Advertisement featuring the cartoon character Joe Camel was significantly more appealing to adolescents than were advertisements with human models, with animal models, and with text only (p $<$ 0.001). Text only advertisement was significantly less appealing than other types of advertisements. The cigarette advertisement with White models (Marlboro) had significantly higher appeal to White students than to African-American students (p $<$ 0.001). The cigarette advertisement featuring African-American models (Virginia Slims) was significantly more appealing to African-American students than other ethnic groups (p $<$ 0.001). Receptivity to cigarette advertising was to be an important concurrent predictor of past smoking experience and intention to smoke in the future. Adolescents who scored in the fourth quartile of the Index of Receptivity to Cigarette Advertising were 7.54 (95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.92-29.56) times as likely to be susceptible to smoking, and were 4.56 (95% CI = 1.55-13.38) times as likely to have tried smoking, as those who scored in the first quartile of the Index. The findings confirmed the hypothesis that cigarette advertising may be a strong current influence in encouraging adolescents to initiate the smoking uptake process than sociodemographic variables, perceived school performance and family composition. ^

Gender-stereotypical portrayals of communal women and agentic men are highly common in advertising. But past research indicates that advertising effectiveness is higher when endorsers are portrayed as communal – irrespective of their gender. The aim of the current research is to explore this communion-over-agency effect on advertising effectiveness and its underlying mechanism. Two studies provide evidence for a communion-over-agency effect on advertising effectiveness (i.e., attitude toward the ad and brand). These studies show that the communion-over-agency effect on attitude toward the ad is mediated by endorser likeability (simple mediation). The effect on attitude toward the brand is mediated by endorser likeability and attitude toward the ad (serial multiple mediation). In concert, this research underscores the significance of communion (and agency) on endorser evaluation and advertising effectiveness.

This article examines past and present systems requiring that a person receive permission before buying or borrowing a firearm. The article covers laws from the eighteenth century to the present. Such laws have traditionally been rare in the United States. The major exceptions are antebellum laws of the slaves states, and of those same states immediately after the Civil War, which forbade gun ownership by people of color, unless the individual had been granted government permission. Today “universal background checks” are based on a system created by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his “Everytown” lobby. Such laws have been enacted in several states, and also proposed as federal legislation. Besides covering the private sale of firearms, they also cover most loans of firearms and the return of loaned firearms. By requiring that almost all loans and returns may only be processed by a gun store, these laws dangerously constrict responsible firearms activities, such as safety training and safe storage. Massachusetts, Connecticut, and California are among the jurisdictions which have enacted less restrictive, more effective legislation which create controls on private firearms sales, without inflicting so much harm on firearms safety.

Companies under pressure from stakeholders to meet profit expectations are often tempted to cut advertising expenses, particularly in times of economic difficulties. However, firms may not fully grasp the actual impact of such drastic cuts. Indeed, the general assumption is that advertising effects are symmetric: the numerical sales impact of budget increase or decrease would be the same in absolute value. Our paper addresses this gap by developing a new model based on multivariate time-series analysis (VAR models) to capture these asymmetric dynamic relationships. Our results show that advertising models are improved by allowing the capture of these asymmetric patterns.

Within the contemporary business milieu, the discipline of selling and sales management has taken on a more prominent role in recent years. Myriad factors have contributed to the rise of interest in sales including globalization, technology, more sophisticated analytical approaches and new opportunities for co-creation of value between organizations and their customers. Over the past three decades, seven faculty consortia in sales have served as milestones to document the progress 2of the field, particularly the evolution of academic research. This article provides key takeaways from the most recent American Marketing Association (AMA) Faculty Consortium in Selling and Sales Management, which had the overarching goal of fostering new opportunities for building intercontinental research teams to effectively address the substantive issues for the future of the field. © 2014 Pi Sigma Epsilon National Educational Foundation.

The selling environment has undergone tremendous transformation over the past 2 decades. Perhaps the greatest change has centered on changes and advancements in technology. The latest dramatic change has been the rapidly increasing use of social media and other related technologies in the business-to-business realm. The sales world began the use of technology through the use of Web 1.0, which was primarily webpage oriented; now we see the world of social media as the paradigm of how firms should implement technology. Although there has been some recent emphasis on how marketing might implement social media into their strategies and how the individual salesperson might implement social media into his or her daily selling routine, no substantive discussion on how social media is affecting the role of the sales manager has appeared in the literature. This article systematically examines how social media is impacting the sales management function and, in fact, may be dramatically revolutionizing the position. To help the marketing and sales organization better understand the changing sales world, we present eight lessons that every sales manager needs to embrace.
