A Santidade nas Hagiografias de Venâncio Fortunato

We chose to do a quick presentation about the authenticity of hagiographies of Venantius Fortunatus. Then began a debate on the concept of holiness and medieval saint. After this discussion, which this author worked with two main models of holiness: the acetic-monastic and episcopal. The first model is present in hagiographies devoted to Patern and Radegund. In these descriptions abound this lifestyle choice: the pursuit of withdrawal from the world, the martyrdom, miracles and temptations related to this kind of choice. However, their hagiographies have, in most cases, the model of episcopal sanctity. In this model, the sanctity appears as a condition for becoming a bishop, and more, the miraculous virtue is clearly a feature of such positions.

Para o estilo de um gênero

Procurando a experiência do encontro entre uma estilística discursiva e o pensamento de Bakhtin e do Círculo, investigaremos procedimentos que respaldam a emergência do estilo de um gênero do discurso religioso, a hagiografia. A partir do lugar teórico e metodológico oferecido pelos estudos do discurso, estaremos então subsidiados pelo pensamento bakhtiniano, em especial quanto à noção de exotopia, a qual coloca o autor como um correlato do "herói". Assim pretendemos problematizar o conceito de estilo do gênero. Estabilidades fundadas em movimentos reguladores de determinada arquitetônica genérica radicarão uma totalidade discursiva, aberta, porém, à contingência e à eventicidade do ato de enunciar.

I sensi spirituali nel Liber di Angela da Foligno. La metafora del "gusto" nel Liber di Angela da Foligno e nella mistica femminile francescana tra XIII e XIV secolo.

Angela da Foligno’s Liber is a fundamental text for the scholar of Women Mystics between the XIIIth and the XIVth century in Italy and all over Europe, and it has been chosen in my research because of its originality, with refer of its feminine and franciscan essence. Angela teaches to the italian hagiographic tradition the internal point of view of the holy woman, who becomes the teller of her both ordinary and extraordinary experiences. After giving references about the religious and social historical universe in evolution during the XIIth century, my research proceeds with a linguistic and rhetorical analysis based upon the Liber. I have been searching in Angela’s text and in contemporary italian feminine hagiography the sensory metaphor of “tasting”. That kind of metaphor has an ancient memory and, thanks to the Origene’s studies - the Christian Father of the IIIrd century - we can easily recognize it already in the Bible; Origene identifies the sensory metaphor as a rhetoric system, able to exemplify the God learning process of soul. Theory of “spiritual senses”, theory of vision and rhetoric, evolving from the IIIrd to the XIIIth century, are the theological and linguistic heritage of our feminine and franciscan literature. Inside of that, the metaphor of “tasting” moves and changes, therefore becoming the favourite way of mystics to represent the contact of their souls with God.

La Legenda aurea com a font del teatre hagiogràfic català de tècnica medieval: un tast comparatiu

En aquest treball ens proposem estudiar la influència de la Legenda aurea de Jacobus de Voragine en el teatre hagiogràfic català de tècnica medieval, en concret en tres de les consuetes del ms. 1139 de la BNC: la de sant Jordi, dedicada a l’episodi de la donzella i el drac; la de la conversió de sant Cristòfol i la de sant Mateu. Comptem amb algunes aproximacions anteriors, com és el cas de les consideracions que féu Josep Romeu en la seua edició de les peces hagiogràfiques d’aquest manuscrit (1957). En aquest sentit, aprofitem les seues indicacions com a punt de partida per a oferir una anàlisi més detallada de la manera en què els drames hagiogràfics adapten algunes de les vides contingudes en l’obra de Voragine. Per no allargar-nos excessivament, ens centrem en aquestes tres consuetes, ja que poden ser prou representatives dels diferents tipus d’adaptació teatral de la Legenda aurea.
