Verkostosodankäynti on suuren huomion kohteena useiden maiden puolustusvoimien järjestelmäkehityshankkeissa. Verkostosodankäynnin tavoitteena on kytkeä kaikki taistelukentän komponentit yhteen nopean tiedonsiirtoverkon avulla. Tällä pyritään tehokkaampaan tiedonjakoon ja edelleen resurssien tehokkaampaan käyttöön. Keskeisessä osassa verkostosodankäynnin tavoitteiden saavuttamisessa on palvelukeskeinen arkkitehtuuri (SOA). Tarve yhä monimutkaisemmille tietojärjestelmille pakottaa myös sotilasympäristön toimijat etsimään ratkaisuja valmiista kaupallisista toteutuksista. Verkottunut toiminta tuottaa valtavasti erilaista tilannetietoa.

We show the existence of families of hip-hop solutions in the equal-mass 2N-body problem which are close to highly eccentric planar elliptic homographic motions of 2N bodies plus small perpendicular non-harmonic oscillations. By introducing a parameter ϵ, the homographic motion and the small amplitude oscillations can be uncoupled into a purely Keplerian homographic motion of fixed period and a vertical oscillation described by a Hill type equation. Small changes in the eccentricity induce large variations in the period of the perpendicular oscillation and give rise, via a Bolzano argument, to resonant periodic solutions of the uncoupled system in a rotating frame. For small ϵ ≠ 0, the topological transversality persists and Brouwer's fixed point theorem shows the existence of this kind of solutions in the full system

We study cooperative and competitive solutions for a many- to-many generalization of Shapley and Shubik (1972)'s assignment game. We consider the Core, three other notions of group stability and two al- ternative definitions of competitive equilibrium. We show that (i) each group stable set is closely related with the Core of certain games defined using a proper notion of blocking and (ii) each group stable set contains the set of payoff vectors associated to the two definitions of competitive equilibrium. We also show that all six solutions maintain a strictly nested structure. Moreover, each solution can be identified with a set of ma- trices of (discriminated) prices which indicate how gains from trade are distributed among buyers and sellers. In all cases such matrices arise as solutions of a system of linear inequalities. Hence, all six solutions have the same properties from a structural and computational point of view.

Being mercury one of the most toxic heavy metals present in the environment, it is of major concern to develop cleanup technologies to remove it from wastewater and recover mercury polluted ecosystems. In this context, we study the potential of some microporous titanosilicates and zirconosilicates for taking up Hg2+ from aqueous solutions. These materials have unique chemical and physical properties, and here we are able to confirm that they readily remove Hg2+ from aqueous solutions. Moreover, the presence of the competitive Mg2+ and Na+, which are some of the dominant cations in natural waters, does not reduce the uptake capacity of some of these materials. Thus, several inorganic materials reported here may have important environmental applications, efficiently removing Hg2+ from aqueous solutions.

In this thesis, equilibrium and dynamic sorption properties of weakly basic chelating adsorbents were studied to explain removal of copper, nickel from a concentrated zinc sulfate solution in a hydrometallurgical process. Silica-supported chelating composites containing either branched poly(ethyleneimine) (BPEI) or 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine (AMP) as a functional group were used. The adsorbents are commercially available from Purity Systems Inc, USA as WP-1® and CuWRAM®, respectively. The fundamental interactions between the adsorbents, sulfuric acid and metal sulfates were studied in detail and the results were used to find the best conditions for removal of copper and nickel from an authentic ZnSO4 process solution. In particular, the effect of acid concentration and temperature on the separation efficiency was considered. Both experimental and modeling aspectswere covered in all cases. Metal sorption is considerably affected by the chemical properties of the studied adsorbents and by the separation conditions. In the case of WP-1, acid affinity is so high that column separation of copper, nickel and zinc has to be done using the adsorbent in base-form. On the other hand, the basicity of CuWRAM is significantly lower and protonated adsorbent can be used. Increasing temperature decreases the basicity and the metals affinity of both adsorbents, but the uptake capacities remain practically unchanged. Moreover, increasing temperature substantially enhances intra-particle mass transport and decreases viscosities thus allowing significantly higher feed flow rates in the fixed-bed separation. The copper selectivity of both adsorbents is very high even in the presence of a 250-fold excess of zinc. However, because of the basicity of WP-1, metal precipitation is a serious problem and therefore only CuWRAM is suitable for the practical industrial application. The optimum temperature for copper removal appears to be around 60 oC and an alternative solution purification method is proposed. The Ni/Zn selectivity of both WP-1 and CuWRAM is insufficient for removal of the very small amounts of nickel present in the concentrated ZnSO4 solution.

Little research has been conducted to guide the management of marketing variables, such as pricing, in systems business context. Furthermore, given that international partnering has become a popular mode of operation for SMEs, the objective of the current thesis was to explore the scantly researched topic of managing the pricing of integrated solutions in an export partnership. Specifically, the thesis synthesizes literature findings from the three areas of export pricing, systems business, and export partnerships. The empirical section of the study consists of a qualitative single-case study of a Finnish systems integrator that has recently launched its export operations. Primary data was collected by conducting four interviews of the case company’s managers and by organizing one group interview session. The study findings indicate that a systems integrator’s pricing strategy in an export partnership can be very multidimensional and dependant on international pricing environment and partner characteristics, that an export partnership appears to have unique implications on a systems integrator’s pricing process, and that customer value –based pricing strategies might be particularly suited to pricing integrated solutions.

This work investigates the adsorption of Alizarin, Eriochrome Blue Black R and Fluorescein using chitosan, goethite and magnetite as adsorbents. For Alizarin, the best adsorbent is chitosan with a Langmuir parameter of 15.8 mmol dye/g adsorbent. For Eriochrome Blue Black R only 1.94 mmol dye/g chitosan is adsorbed. Langmuir parameters for the Alizarin adsorption on both iron oxides display one or two orders of magnitude lower than for chitosan and two orders of magnitude lower in the case of Eriochrome Blue Black R. Fluorescein does not adsorb in appreciable amounts on chitosan and it presents the lower affinity on the iron oxides.

We carried out an electrochemical study of the cobalt electrodeposition onto glassy carbon electrode from an aqueous solution containing 10-2 M of CoSO4 + 1 M (NH4)2SO4 at natural pH 4.5. The potentiostatic study indicated a progressive 3D nucleation and growth during the deposition process. The average diffusion coefficient calculated for this system was 2.65 X 10-6 cm² s-1 while the ΔG for the formation of stable nucleus was 6.50 X 10-20 J/nuclei. The scanning electron microscopy images indicated the formation of small and homogeneous nucleus onto GCE of approximately 300 nm.

A reversed-phase liquid chromatographic (LC) and ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometric methods were developed and validated for the assay of bromopride in oral and injectable solutions. The methods were validated according to ICH guideline. Both methods were linear in the range between 5-25 μg mL-1 (y = 41837x - 5103.4, r = 0.9996 and y = 0.0284x - 0.0351, r = 1, respectively). The statistical analysis showed no significant difference between the results obtained by the two methods. The proposed methods were found to be simple, rapid, precise, accurate, and sensitive. The LC and UV methods can be used in the routine quantitative analysis of bromopride in oral and injectable solutions.

It was carried out an electrochemical study of the cobalt electrodeposition onto HOPG electrode from an aqueous solution containing 10-2 M of CoSO4 + 1M (NH4)2SO4. Nucleation parameters such as nucleation rate, density of active nucleation sites, saturation nucleus and the rate constant of the proton reduction reaction (kPR) were determined from potentiostatic studies. An increase in kPR values with the decrease in the applied potential suggested a competition between H+ and Co2+ by the active sites on the surface. The ΔG energy calculated for the formation of stable nucleus was 8.21x10-21 J/nuclei. The AFM study indicated the formation of small clusters of 50-400 nm in diameter and 2-120 nm in height.

Cellular metals are a new class of materials with promising applications and a unique combination of physical, chemical and mechanical properties. The Al-356 alloy is used to manufacture metal foams from NaCl preforms. Despite the usefulness of these materials, their performance may be affected by corrosion due to residual salt. This paper reports the study of the behavior of the Al-356 alloy in chloride solutions by electrochemical techniques in rotating disk electrode. The cathodic reaction of oxygen reduction is the crucial stage of process dissolution of the material, which shows that is the oxygen transport which limits the corrosion process.

A RP-HPLC procedure for the simultaneous determination of cisplatin and the complex cis,cis,trans-diamminedichlorodihydroxo-platinum(IV), was development. The developed procedure was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, precision, limits of detection (LOD), limits of quantification (LOQ) and specificity. The limits of detection (LOD) were 0.47 x 10-4 and 0.53 x 10-4 mol L-1 and the limits of quantification (LOQ) were 1.57 x 10-4 and 1.75 x 10-4 mol L-1, for cisplatin and cis,cis,trans-diamminedichlorodihydroxopla-tinum(IV), respectively. The average recoveries of cisplatin and cis,cis,trans-diamminedichlorodihydroxoplatinum(IV) was 100.6% ± 1.4 and 101.2% ± 1.1, respectively. Intermediate (inter-day) precision, repeatability and specificity of the procedure for hydrolysis products of cisplatin were studied. The results of the study showed that the proposed RP-HPLC procedure is simple, rapid, precise, accurate and specific.

Measurements at high temperature using liquid solutions require special cells and materials which are able to support the temperature and pressure developed inside. The constructed cell was designed to support pressures up to 20 bar, temperatures relatively high up to around 200 ºC, depending on the pressure developed inside the system. It also supports aggressive solutions since its inner wall is made of Teflon. The electrolyte has no contact with the metallic body of the cell. Then, it is supposed that this work represents a great contribution to the electrochemical studies of materials in solutions at high pressure and temperature
