Tem havido uma preocupação global com o desaparecimento de polinizadores dos campos de cultivo, podendo causar uma queda na produção de alimentos, e consequentemente, afetar a segurança alimentar em decorrência de déficits de polinização. Dessa forma, ações visando à conservação de espécies polinizadoras e de seus habitats vem assumindo uma importância cada vez maior. A região do município de Guapiara destaca-se no Estado de São Paulo como a principal produtora de tomate. O tomateiro possui flores hermafroditas e autofecundadas, porém uma melhor produtividade pode ser alcançada com a polinização por abelhas. A região apresenta uma diversidade de habitats agrícolas próximos a ambientes naturais preservados (Parque Estadual Intervales e Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira), o que favorece o estabelecimento de uma fauna de polinizadores diversificada, mas fortemente impactada pela aplicação intensiva de produtos químicos nos cultivos. A proposição de um plano de manejo objetivando a conservação de espécies de abelhas junto às áreas cultivadas se justifica plenamente para a região, considerando a fauna rica em espécies de abelhas com potencial de polinização para cultivos agrícolas. Planos de divulgação sobre a importância da conservação das espécies ou habitats alvo são parte integrante dos planos de manejo. Entre as ações de divulgação, a elaboração de material impresso é importante pela capacidade de alcance de diferentes setores envolvidos com as espécies e habitats a serem manejados e conservados. Este trabalho é parte integrante de um amplo estudo sobre a importância das abelhas em cultivos de tomate na região de Guapiara. Children learn very early which groups are stigmatized and how they should be treated. They learn formally and informally, by listening and watching people and the world around them. The construction of children's representations about disabilities starts with access to information on the subject, which may come from their caregivers, media, school etc. This work is part of a monograph that examined the effects of an educational program involving strategies for non-disabled children on conceptions and attitudes concerning mental disability. This paper refers to the initial characterization of these children and their access to information on disability, and to identifying previous access, source and memory of such information. The study included 40 children from two classrooms of the first grade of a public school in Marília, SP. The children were interviewed using an individual semi structured questionnaire. Many children said they did not have access to information on the subject. Among those who had previous access to the information, the television was the most frequent source of information, and characteristics of the deficiencies, relations with diseases and encouragement of solidarity were among the contents reminded by them. The data emphasize the need for the media to expand concerns with the content presented to the public, for parents and teachers to become more involved with the issue, seeking to be informed and revise their own conceptions, in order to transform the subject into something that is part of daily school and family environment.

This article presents part of a study that analyzed the concepts, feelings and attitudes of children without disabilities about mental retardation and inclusion and evaluated the effects of an informative program that deals with the issue. The study included forty children from two first grade classrooms in a public school in Marília-SP. One classroom participated as a control group. All children underwent pre and post tests in the form of interviews on the subject and a scale of children's social attitudes towards inclusion was applied. The experimental group participated in the informative program, composed of thirteen weekly meetings, in which the limitations and possibilities of people with mental retardation, specialized care, their schooling and family and social aspects, were discussed, using various educational and recreational strategies. The data collected in the interviews were categorized and content analysis was conducted. With the scale, individual scores were obtained. Statistical calculations were performed to verify the significance of differences between groups. In this paper we discuss the data obtained with the scale which were crossed with interview data. The results of the interviews and the scale indicated several changes in children's attitudes towards inclusion, but relations between many of these data could not be statistically confirmed. These results indicate the importance of expanding the research on the relationship between the phenomena presented.

Introduction: The frequency of surgical procedures has increased steadily in recent decades, including the myocardial revascularization.Objectives: To demonstrate the importance of physiotherapy in the preoperative period of cardiac surgery in relation to the reduction of hospital stay, changes in lung volumes and respiratory muscle strength.Methods: We conducted a prospective study with patients undergoing myocardial revascularization, the Hospital das Clinicas da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)/Botucatu - SP. We evaluated 70 patients of both genders, aged between 40 and 75 years, subdivided into two groups: group I - 35 patients of both genders, who received a written protocol guidance, breathing exercises and respiratory muscle training in the preoperative period and group II - 35 patients of both genders, who received only orientation of the ward on the day of surgery. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of UNESP /Botucatu - SP.Results: Maximal inspiratory pressure in third postoperative day and fifth postoperative day and significant difference between groups, being better for the intervention group. Expiratory pressure was significant in fifth postoperative day in the intervention group compared to controls. The difference of length of hospital stay in the postoperative was found between the groups with shorter hospital stay in the group receiving preoperative therapy.Conclusion: Physical therapy plays an important role in the preoperative period, so that individuals in the intervention group more readily restored the parameters evaluated before surgery, in addition, there was a decrease in the time of the postoperative hospital stay. Thus, it is thought the cost-effectiveness of a program of preoperative physiotherapy.

In this research, qualitative, aimed to analyze the meanings assigned by Physical Education teachers to the relationship between continuing education and professional development stages. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with eight state public school teachers of Bauru/SP. The data were analyzed following the theory referential of HUBERMAN (2000), relatively to the concept of professional life cycles, and found that as well as other factors of the teaching career, on the extent of continuing education teachers also have different needs at each moment professional. In summary concluded: the early stage to teaching, they seek activities to improve pedagogical practice; stabilization phase: to solve problems in the educational context and to disseminate the academic content between teachers; diversifi cation phase: to provide a basis to work new content and to make constant updates according to educational innovations; serenity/exit: they feel the need to attend training activities in different spaces of the school.
