An effective on-the-job training model-to facilitate strategy execution

Strategy execution has been a heated topic in the management world in recent years. However, according to a survey done by the Conference Board (2014), the chief executives are so concerned about the execution in their companies and have rated it as the No.1 or No.2 most challenging issue. Many of them choose to invest in training with a purpose to harvest the most for strategy execution. Therefore, this research is trying to find out a model to design training programs that can at most contribute to the success of strategy execution with three real-life training cases done by BTS Consulting Service. It was found that strategy execution could be greatly supported by training programs that take into consideration the four factors, namely Alignment, Mindset to Change, Capability and Organization Support. The present Work Project (WP) is the result of Sonae’s concern with fraud risk, seeking to implement a method that formally describes and evaluates it in its various forms. In a context of limited human, capital, time and tools’ resources, the Internal Audit (IA) department of the company developed a framework to raise the awareness of top management and identify which processes of its value chain present a higher level of exposure to fraud, with the purpose of redirecting attention to those and prioritizing the creation of new mechanisms to monitor its KPIs’ dynamics.

Chesney’s: Growing Through Product Expansion The purpose of this work project is to have a better understanding about how to proceed when a company is challenged by new options to grow and thrive. It aims to decode the next direction of Chesney’s Ltd, a United Kingdom leading company in luxurious replicas of antique fireplaces, wood burning stoves and other architectural pieces. The work project relies on the concepts of strategy, innovation and design thinking in order to encourage dynamic activities within the company. Chesney’s continuously tries to improve and innovate and this work project will assess whether the possible options have strategic fit with the purpose of the company and consequently, create an introduction plan for the opportunity that shows higher probabilities of becoming successful.

The international conventions and agreements on civil liability emerged with the purpose of regulating the liability of the air carrier, bearing in mind two essential factors: i) the need to protect passengers interests, and ii) to ensure the continuous development of an incipient activity by limiting the compensation amounts. This research will focus on the analysis of the nature of the contract of air carriage, as well as the air carrier's liability regime regarding damages endured by passengers that may result from the non-performance of the contract.

Cooperations in the nonprofit sector

Many Nonprofit Organizations are pursuing mergers and alliances with the purpose of become more sustainable, better use their resources, and generate a higher impact. This report wants to bring further concrete evidences to the contents highlighted by the researchers. Firstly, a theoretical framework is derived from the literature analysis. Based on that a case study is developed, which see the NOVA SBE and the IES – SBS planning a strategic alliance to constitute a new Social Entrepreneurship Center. A first analysis of the strategic alliance plan showed a wide potential in terms of impact generated and sustainability, only the future steps will be able to demonstrate the successful implementation.
