Proposta di traduzione dello script di 'Viy' (2014) , di Oleg Stepcenko.

Il presente elaborato è una proposta di traduzione del film Viy (2014), diretto da Oleg Stepčenko. Il film è una rivisitazione cinematografica di un racconto di Nikolaj Vasil'evič Gogol', da cui prende il titolo. Prima di dedicarmi alla traduzione del testo, ho ritenuto opportuno documentarmi quanto più possibile sul racconto originale, i temi, il linguaggio, la contestualizzazione dell'opera nella vita dell'autore. La prima parte del mio lavoro è quindi dedicata alla presentazione del racconto originale e della raccolta da cui esso è tratto, Mirgorod (1835). Successivamente, ho voluto introdurre il film e le sue tematiche (non sempre corrispondenti al racconto); ho poi aggiunto un breve commento alla mia traduzione, enucleando i principali ostacoli incontrati nel processo traduttivo, e le soluzioni adottate; in appendice, la mia proposta di traduzione. La scelta di questo film come oggetto dell'elaborato finale è derivata da un mio particolare interesse per il cinema fantasy ; i film di questo genere sono solitamente tratti da romanzi contemporanei, mi è parso quindi singolare il caso di Viy (2014), ispirato al folle racconto di un autore sacro come Gogol'.

Traduzione di materiale informativo del Parco del Corno alle Scale

The Regional Park Corno alle Scale, while often criticized for a lack of effort focussing on attracting tourism to the area, still maintains a vast potential for satisfying the visitors' curiosity for areas of natural beauty, outdoor activities, hand crafted artefacts, and local cuisine. With the intent of promoting the area of Corno alle scale in a more comprehensive and appealing fashion, this paper has two main parts. Four brochures have been translated detailing the history of the villages dotted around the regional park, their main features, the local flora and fauna, the full range of outdoor activities available in the area, and also the main seasonal attraction, the ski resort. Secondly the translation strategies will be commented.

Un'analisi della lingua artificiale "Elvhen" dell'universo di Dragon Age con particolare attenzione al contesto storico e culturale che la circonda

Analisi di residui solidi industriali pre e post trattamento idrometallurgico per la valutazione del potenziale recupero di materie prime critiche

Si è calcolata la percentuale di metalli rimossi (R%) da fly ash e scarti industriali ceramici sottoposti a vari tipi di leaching con acqua deionizzata, acido solforico (pH1), attacco alcalino (pH14) e trattamento combinato acido-alcalino. Il parametro R è molto importante perché è in grado di fornire un’indicazione riguardo l’effettiva efficacia di un tipo di leaching rispetto ad un altro. Così facendo è possibile valutare la reale fattibilità del recupero di materie prime critiche (secondo la Commissione Europea) da questi rifiuti. Per quanto riguarda il recupero da fly ash, il trattamento con leaching acido si dimostra il più valido per numero di elementi e percentuale di recupero. Tuttavia, anche se il leaching combinato per certi aspetti può sembrare migliore, bisogna anche considerare i costi di lavorazione, che in questo caso aumenterebbero sensibilmente. Per quanto riguarda gli scarti ceramici, è il leaching combinato a mostrare il miglior potenziale di rimozione dei metalli critici, sia in termini di percentuali che per il numero di elementi rimossi.

Poesia come strumento di lotta contro il franchismo attraverso la canción protesta (dalla resistenza alla transizione democratica)

L'obiettivo di questo studio è stato quello di tracciare il percorso e gli elementi che hanno caratterizzato il fenomeno della Canción Protesta, ascrivibile al più ampio movimento della Canción Popular, nel tardo franchismo, partendo dalle origini di tale fenomeno, riconducibili alla nascita della Nova Cançó catalana negli anni Cinquanta. Si ritiene che il ruolo della musica nel contesto relativo al nostro studio, sia una chiave fondamentale per ottenere un nuovo tipo di interpretazione della storia politica, sociale e soprattutto culturale della Spagna. Generalmente quello musicale, non è un ambito al quale viene fatto riferimento quando ci addentriamo nell'analisi di determinati momenti storici, mentre, come abbiamo potuto constatare dal nostro studio, i fenomeni e i movimenti musicali sono di grande aiuto per comprendere l'evoluzione degli eventi e della storia di un Paese.

"Love you two" di Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli: Tradurre un romanzo Young Adult di un'autrice italo-australiana

Lo scopo di questa Tesi di Laurea è quello di offrire una proposta di traduzione in italiano del romanzo LGBTQ per Young Adults Love You Two, di Maria Pallotta-Chiarolli. Quest'opera esplora temi delicati, come la bisessualità e il poliamore, dal punto di vista di una adolescente che scopre la propria identità e quella della sua famiglia italo-australiana. Questo studio fornisce inoltre una panoramica del contesto socio-culturale e letterario in cui il romanzo è stato pubblicato. Oltre ad esaminare le caratteristiche del libro, come genere letterario e tipologia, intenzionalità dell'autore, tematiche, funzione, stile e pubblico, si offre un'analisi dettagliata della strategia applicata nel processo traduttivo, che tende a conferire al testo un leggero effetto straniante, tale da evidenziarne le specificità culturale. La presente ricerca è stata condotta in parte in Australia presso la University of Melbourne e la Deakin University e si configura come un tentativo di mostrare la necessità e la possibilità di tradurre e pubblicare letteratura LGBT per ragazzi e ragazze in Italia.

I contratti internazionali: proposta di traduzione italiano-tedesco di un contratto di concessione di vendita

Gegenstand der vorliegenden Masterarbeit ist die Übersetzung eines Alleinvertriebsvertrages zwischen einem italienischen Hersteller und einem deutschen Vertragshändler aus dem Italienischen ins Deutsche. Die Entscheidung für dieses Thema hat zwei Gründe: die Leidenschaft für das Recht und für die Rechtsübersetzung und die Möglichkeit, ein übliches Szenario in der heutigen Realität der Handelsbeziehungen zwischen Italien und Deutschland aufzuzeigen. Die Arbeit besteht aus sechs Kapiteln, an die sich drei Anhänge anschließen: Der erste enthält ein mit SDL MultiTerm erstelltes Termbase mit den aus übersetzerischer Sicht wichtigsten Termini, die im italienischen Vertrag gefunden wurden. Der zweite beinhaltet den Originaltext auf Italienisch. Der dritte Anhang schließlich besteht aus dem Fragebogen, der zwecks Analyse der Tendenz bezüglich der Abfassung und/oder Übersetzung internationaler Verträge erstellt und internationalen Anwaltskanzleien vorgelegt wurden, sowie die Antworten seitens der kontaktierten Kanzleien. Das erste Kapitel beinhaltet eine kontrastive Analyse betreffend die allgemeine Disziplin der Verträge in Italien und in Deutschland, mit der die Ähnlichkeiten und die Unterschiede zwischen den zwei Rechtsordnungen herausgearbeitet werden. Dieser Teil bietet auch einen Überblick über die Kategorie der Alleinvertriebsverträge, zu der der Originaltext gehört. Das zweite Kapitel behandelt das Thema der internationalen Verträge; insbesondere werden die hauptsächlichen Probleme bei der Abfassung dieser Verträge, sowie die zahlreichen Versuche im Bereich der Harmonisierung des europaischen und internationalen Privatrechts und die Ergebnisse des Fragebogens vorgestellt. Das dritte Kapitel enthält eine Einführung in die Rechtsübersetzung: Nach einer Beschreibung der Kompetenzen eines Rechtsübersetzers und der Merkmale der Rechtssprache werden die besonderen Faktoren, die die Übersetzung von Rechtstexten beeinflussen können, sowie die Unterscheidung zwischen Übersetzungsmethoden und -verfahren erläutert. Das vierte Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit der Analyse des Ausgangstexts im Hinblick auf die Ebenen der Makrostruktur, des Wortschatzes und der Morphosyntax. Nach der Übersetzung des Vertrages ins Deutsche werden im sechsten Kapitel die Übersetzungsschwierigkeiten und die Veränderungen vorgestellt, die bei der Übersetzung vorgenommen wurden.

Il linguaggio giuridico dell'atto notarile: proposta di traduzione di una procura dallo spagnolo all'italiano con strumenti di traduzione assistita

El objetivo de este trabajo es investigar el lenguaje jurídico de las actas notariales y presentar la traducción de un poder del español al italiano mediante el uso de programas de traducción asistida. La finalidad del presente estudio es la de proporcionar un análisis del género textual del acta notarial en clave contrastiva, es decir, teniendo en cuenta el derecho italiano y el español, y delinear las fases del proceso traductivo que el traductor jurídico tiene que llevar a cabo. El trabajo consta de seis capítulos. El Capítulo I se centra en el análisis del lenguaje jurídico con sus características léxicas, sintácticas y textuales. Se describen también algunos conceptos básicos de derecho privado que son necesarios para entender y traducir actas notariales. El Capítulo II se focaliza en la traducción jurídica analizando las fases, las dificultades y las estrategias que caracterizan el proceso traductivo de un texto jurídico y las fuentes de documentación útiles para llevarlo a cabo. El Capítulo III trata del género textual del acta notarial y de la individuación de la macroestructura que está a la base de este tipo de documento. En el Capítulo IV se ilustran los programas de traducción asistida y los recursos creados para realizar la traducción del acta notarial objeto de este trabajo: corpora, termbase y memorias de traducción. El Capítulo V presenta un análisis del texto origen con la individuación de las características del lenguaje jurídico español y la propuesta de traducción del documento. El Capítulo VI consiste en un comentario de las diferentes fases del trabajo, junto a una reflexión sobre las principales dificultades de traducción y las estrategias empleadas para solucionarlas. Por último, se proporciona la evaluación de la traducción por parte de un experto del dominio jurídico, los resultados obtenidos y los cambios realizados en la traducción.

La traduzione dei racconti di Pat Mora: muoversi tra due lingue e due culture

This dissertation deals with the translations of seven books for children written by the Chicano author Pat Mora. I started to be interested in the Chicano world, a world suspended between Mexico and the United States, after reading a book by Sandra Cisneros. I decided to deepen my curiosity and for this reason, I discovered a hybrid reality full of history, culture and traditions. In this context, the language used is characterized by a continuous code switching between Spanish and English and I thought it was an interesting phenomenon from the literary and translation point of view. During my research in the Chicano culture, I ran across Pat Mora. Her books for children fascinated me because of their actual themes (the cultural diversity and the defense of identity) and their beautiful illustrations. For this reason, I chose to translate seven of her books because I believe they could be an enrichment for children literature in Italy. The work consists of five chapters. The first one deals with the identity of Chicano people, their history, their literature and their language. In the second chapter, I outline Pat Mora’s profile. I talk about her biography and I analyze her most famous works. In the third chapter, I introduce the seven books for children to be translated and I point out their plots and main themes. In the fourth chapter, I present the translation of the books. The fifth chapter is the translation comment. I deal with the linguistic analysis of the source texts and the analysis of the target texts focusing on the choices made during the translation process.

Una panoramica sulle agenzie di traduzione: caratteristiche, tipologie e flussi di lavoro

Over the last decades the need for translation and interpreting services has increased thanks to globalization and to the progress made in the technology field. However, the organizations which provide these services, the so-called translation agencies or translation companies, are still underrated and, in some cases, virtually unknown to those people who do not belong to the translation market. The present work aims to answer all the most common questions about these companies by describing in as much detail as possible all their aspects, mechanisms, workflows and characteristics. Chapter one introduces translation agencies outlining, in the first place, some of their main definitions and classifications. Particular attention is also devoted to the translation market, to the main trade associations in the field, to the quality standards adopted and to the important role played by social media for the success of translation agencies. Chapter two starts with a theoretical introduction to the concept of “organization” and an examination of the main types of teams commonly adopted in companies, i.e. virtual and traditional. This introduction is then followed by an analysis of the typical workflows taking place in translation agencies, the main professionals involved (such as Project Managers, translators and reviewers) and their essential competences. Finally, chapter three presents a comparison between a traditional translation agency, i.e., Going Green Translations, characterized by a physical office and internal collaborators, and a more innovative translation agency, Qabiria, which on the contrary relies on a completely decentralized team. The interviews have allowed me to highlight similarities and differences as well as advantages and disadvantages of these agencies and their teams. The chapter concludes with a personal commentary on what has emerged from the comparison, and on the future of translation companies.

The aim of this dissertation is to provide a translation from English into Italian of a specialised scientific article published in the Cambridge Working Papers in Economics series. In this text, the authors estimate the economic consequences of the earthquake that hit the Abruzzo region in 2009. An extract of this translation will be published as part of conference proceedings. The main reason behind this choice is a personal interest in specialised translation in the economic domain. Moreover, the subject of the article is of particular interest to the Italian readership. The aim of this study is to show how a non-specialised translator can tackle with such a highly specialised translation with the use of appropriate terminology resources and the collaboration of field experts. The translation could be of help to other Italian linguists looking for translated material in this particular domain where English seems to be the dominant language. In order to ensure consistent terminology and adequate style, the document has been translated with the use of different resources, such as dictionaries, glossaries and specialised corpora. I also contacted field experts and the authors of text. The collaboration with the authors proved to be an invaluable resource yet one to be carefully managed. This work is divided into 5 chapters. The first deals with domain-specific sublanguages. The second gives an overview of corpus linguistics and describes the corpora designed for the translation. The third provides an analysis of the article, focusing on syntactical, lexical and structural features while the fourth presents the translation, side-by-side with the source text. The fifth comments on the main difficulties encountered in the translation and the strategies used, as well as the relationship with the authors and their review of the published text. Appendix I contains the econometric glossary English – Italian.

Analisi del film L'appartamento spagnolo: multilinguismo e comunicazione interculturale

The present research study focuses on intercultural communication and how its dynamics are portrayed in the Italian version of the movie L’appartamento spagnolo (original title: L’auberge espagnol) by Cédric Klapisch. The first chapter introduces the movie in all its main features, such as plot, setting, characters, languages, main themes, and sequels. The second chapter focuses on the dynamics of intercultural communication through the analysis of the most representative scenes of the movie. It is worth noting that the notion of intercultural communication comprises a lot of different kinds of communication, meaning not only communication among people coming from different countries and speaking a different language, but also among different generations, people with different social backgrounds, with a different social status, etc. However, language is indeed crucial to mutual understanding and it plays a fundamental role in communication. For this reason, the third chapter focuses on the multilingual dimension of the movie, since the issue of intercultural communication is also conveyed through a variety of languages. The aim is to analyze the different strategies used in the Italian dubbed version in order to manage the presence of different languages and to examine how such strategies affect the overall consistency of the dialogues and the effect achieved on the audience.

Sentieri di parole nel bosco della vita: Temi difficili nella letteratura per l'infanzia. Proposta di traduzione in italiano di en un bosque de hoja caduca di Gonzalo Moure

L’elaborato si compone di cinque capitoli. Il primo è dedicato a un excursus della Letteratura per l’infanzia nel corso degli anni, soffermandosi sulla storia, lo sviluppo e la ricezione nel pubblico infantile di alcuni temi tabù quali il dolore, la sofferenza, l’assenza, la morte e la censura a cui spesso sono stati sottoposti. Il capitolo si sofferma, in particolare, sul tema della morte, cercando di tracciarne la presenza nella Letteratura per l’infanzia. Per permettere l’analisi di un così vasto tema, si è scelto di suddividere e analizzare alcune caratteristiche e simboli della morte presenti in racconti, romanzi e album illustrati dedicati al pubblico infantile. Infine, si è scelto di porre l’accento sulla pedagogia della morte, toccando il tema del lutto e della sepoltura. Il primo capitolo acquisisce importanza alla luce dell’analisi del racconto di Gonzalo Moure, nel quale queste tematiche sono molto presenti e vengono utilizzate senza ricorrere a censura. Il secondo capitolo analizza la vita dell’autore e propone i momenti più significativi della sua carriera artistica, professionale e personale, oltre al suo impegno sociale nell’associazione Bubisher a sostegno della causa saharawi. In questo capitolo troviamo, inoltre, un elenco dettagliato delle opere e delle collaborazioni letterarie dell’autore, un accenno al suo stile di scrittura e la trascrizione dell’intervista da me fatta in Spagna a settembre 2015. Nel terzo capitolo si propone l’analisi approfondita del racconto di Moure: l’aspetto paratestuale, le caratteristiche generali del libro, la trama, i personaggi, il tempo e lo spazio del racconto, così come i temi e i valori trattati. Sono inoltre presenti anche le interviste con l’illustratrice e con l’editor. Il quarto capitolo propone la traduzione del racconto En un bosque de hoja caduca, rispettando il layout della versione originale spagnola. Infine, il quinto capitolo vede il commento alla traduzione e le principali categorie di problemi linguistici riscontrati durante il processo traduttivo quali morfosintassi, lessico, toponimi e antroponimi, onomatopee, modi di dire e aspetti grafici.

Localizzare e posizionare su un nuovo mercato: analisi pragmaterminologica applicata della sezione Cosmoonda di remediaerbe.it

Diese Masterarbeit entstand im Rahmen des Projekts Language Toolkit. Die Haupttätigkeit meines Praktikums lag in der Lokalisierung der Website von Remedia ins Deutsche. Zu lokalisieren waren die in Kap. 1 beschriebenen Seiten der Abteilung „Cosmoonda“ zu den von der gleichnamigen Forschungsgruppe des Unternehmens entwickelten bioenergetischen Geräten. Das zweite Kapitel umfasst eine Einführung in die Lokalisierung und bietet einen Überblick über ihre Geschichte. Am Ende des Kapitels wurden die Vorteile der elocalization behandelt und es wurde das neue Anforderungsprofil des Übersetzers beschrieben. Kap. 3 beinhaltet die Analyse der überwiegenden Sprachfunktionen sowie der Textsorten und -typen zum Zweck der bestmöglichen Übertragung der Kommunikationsabsicht des Auftraggebers. Zur Festlegung der optimalen Übersetzungsstrategie von Werbetexten tragen unterschiedliche Faktoren bei, wie z.B. die Säulen des Marketing-Mix, die im vierten Kapitel in Bezug auf die Standardisierung oder Lokalisierung von Werbebotschaften analysiert wurden. Im vorliegenden Zusammenhang spielt die Positionierung eine ausschlaggebende Rolle, weil bioenergetische Geräte einen unterschiedlichen Lebenszyklus in Ausgangs- und Zielmarkt erleben. Anhand von konkreten Beispielen wurde im fünften Kapitel gezeigt, wie die Sprachen der Unternehmen, die ähnliche Produkte und Dienstleistungen anbieten, sich auch aufgrund von kognitiven, temporellen und pragmatischen Faktoren unterscheiden. Kap. 6 enthält eine Beschreibung der praktischen Schritte des Lokalisierungsprozesses (Dokumentationsphase sowie Erstellung und Analyse von Korpora). Der vorletzte Teil bietet einen Überblick über die Komponenten sowie die Vor- und Nachteile der Nutzung von CMS. Im letzten Teil der Arbeit habe ich mich mit den translatorischen Problemen und ihren Lösungen (durch AT-Fehler verursachte evidente Translationsprobleme, Strategien zur Wiedergabe von Produktnamen, Äquivalenzen zwischen AT und ZT) auseinandergesetzt.

Traduzione dall’italiano al francese di un brano tratto dal romanzo "Fuori piove, dentro pure, passo a prenderti?" di Antonio Dikele Distefano

Dans ce mémoire, il a été question pour moi de faire la traduction, de l’italien vers le français, d’un extrait de l’œuvre "Fuori piove, dentro pure, passo a prenderti ?" de Antonio Dikele Distefano, qui s’intitule "Kaaris, Or noir". C’est un texte dans lequel l’auteur parle de la discrimination dont il est victime et de la rigueur de ses parents, sa mère en particulier. On met également en exergue le rejet social, car c’est plus ou moins le thème central de l’œuvre. Ainsi, j’ai organisé et articulé mon travail selon les techniques de commentaire, d’analyse et de traduction qui m’ont été enseignées tout au long de mon parcours académique.
