Estudiar las condiciones sociales e institucionales en las que comenzó a perfilarse la didáctica de las matemáticas como contenido de la enseñanza y descripción de las características que adoptó en esta primera época (mediados del siglo XIX). La aritmética como contenido matemático fundamental en la formación de maestros en las escuelas normales. El trabajo de investigación se ha estructurado en tres partes: la primera trata sobre los antecedentes del problema-objeto de la investigación, a saber: el acceso al magisterio antes de la muerte de Fernando VII y el salto cualitativo que supuso la creación de las escuelas normales, además de analizar las propuestas didácticas innovadoras que durante el primer tercio del siglo XIX tuvieron más difusión en España: la enseñanza mutua, Pestalozzi y Vallejo. En un segundo momento se abordó el marco legislativo y organizativo de la enseñanza de la aritmética y en el tercero se abordan cuestiones metodológicas centradas en las figuras de Pablo Montesino y Mariano Carderera. Fuentes documentales primarias y legislativas, normativas y textuales. Investigación histórico-educativa. La reforma de la formación de maestros comenzó en España en 1839 con la creación de la Escuela Normal Central cuyo primer director fue Pablo Montesino. Durante las primeras décadas del siglo XIX aparecen las primeras innovaciones metodológicas; la enseñanza mutua y la pedagogía de Pestalozzi centrada en el aprendizaje de los conceptos numéricos ya que formaban parte de las nociones claras que son alcanzadas con más seguridad por la intuición. Tanto la enseñanza mutua como el sistema Pestalozzi fueron considerados por José Mariano Vallejo, Catedrático de Matemáticas del Real Conservatorio de Nobles de Madrid que ya en 1806 había publicado una aritmética para niños y continuó su trabajo didáctico desde la Dirección General de Estudios. La metodología de la Aritmética formaba parte de las asignaturas pedagógicas dentro de los estudios de las Escuelas Normales. En la Escuela Normal central el primer profesor encargado de la aritmética fue Francisco Sarasí que no tenía especialización matemática alguna. Los autores consultados coinciden en la importancia de la difusión de las ideas de Pestalozzi para la enseñanza de la aritmética, señalando el papel de la intuición en el aprendizaje de los conceptos aritméticos, la atención que necesitan los primeros aprendizajes numéricos, el cálculo verbal, la enseñanza razonada de la aritmética y el sistema de numeración. Interés del análisis de otras propuestas sobre la enseñanza de las matemáticas en los primeros niveles educativos siendo como ha sido la de esta la aplicación de las herramientas proporcionadas por la teoría antropológica de la didáctica.

Esta dissertação incide sobre a produção documental em Portugal, no período de vida do monarca D. Pedro V, 1837-1861. As bases de dados de recolha de informação foram: a Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, a Biblioteca Nacional Digital e o catálogo da Rede Municipal de Bibliotecas de Lisboa. Tendo em conta as várias formulações no campo da bibliometria, o denominado efeito bradfordiano foi o foco desta investigação com a análise dos autores, casas editoriais/ tipografias, locais de produção, tipo de documentos e áreas temáticas mais produtivos.

The small-sized frugivorous bat Carollia perspicillata is an understory specialist and occurs in a wide range of lowland habitats, tending to be more common in tropical dry or moist forests of South and Central America. Its sister species, Carollia brevicauda, occurs almost exclusively in the Amazon rainforest. A recent phylogeographic study proposed a hypothesis of origin and subsequent diversification for C. perspicillata along the Atlantic coastal forest of Brazil. Additionally, it also found two allopatric clades for C. brevicauda separated by the Amazon Basin. We used cytochrome b gene sequences and a more extensive sampling to test hypotheses related to the origin and diversification of C. perspicillata plus C. brevicauda clade in South America. The results obtained indicate that there are two sympatric evolutionary lineages within each species. In C. perspicillata, one lineage is limited to the Southern Atlantic Forest, whereas the other is widely distributed. Coalescent analysis points to a simultaneous origin for C. perspicillata and C. brevicauda, although no place for the diversification of each species can be firmly suggested. The phylogeographic pattern shown by C. perspicillata is also congruent with the Pleistocene refugia hypothesis as a likely vicariant phenomenon shaping the present distribution of its intraspecific lineages. O trabalho compõe-se do inventário analítico do fundo Colégio Pedro II, bem como do registro de autoridade do produtor desse conjunto arquivístico, com o levantamento da legislação sobre educação e o colégio entre 1838 a 2009. O fundo Colégio Pedro II, localizado no NUDOM – Núcleo de Documentação e Memória do Colégio Pedro II – é formado por um conjunto de documentos administrativos nos quais foram registrados os atos praticados pela instituição desde a sua fundação em 1837 até meados da década de 1990. Este arquivo é composto por 60 pastas e 600 livros encadernados com aproximadamente 300 páginas cada um. Neles, constam as atas da Congregação, livros de concursos para professores, o primeiro livro de avisos, de 1838, livros de matrículas, de exames preparatórios, ofícios enviados, ofícios recebidos, avisos do Ministério do Império, livros de ocorrências disciplinares, livros de colação de grau e bancos de honra, livros de contabilidade, livros de nomeações de professores e funcionários. Além de proceder à descrição do fundo e ao registro da autoridade arquivística, o trabalho descreve a metodologia usada na construção do inventário analítico a partir do estudo de textos das teorias arquivísticas e da classificação e utilização das normas ISAAR(CPF) E NOBRADE. O inventário é apresentado como um instrumento de pesquisa fundamental na busca, identificação e acesso aos documentos, ressaltando-se, igualmente, a importância do arquivo para subsidiar a compreensão da evolução do ensino secundário no país.

This study investigates how the reading of fairy tales can be an instrument for reflection on the bullying phenomenon in the live of students. Its relevance is present the work with literature as an alternative to facilitate the understanding of children and young people about this violence practice, on the basis of the discussion moments, mediated in the classroom. Methodologically based in the principles of qualitative investigation, setting itself as a bibliographic research, and linked to the content analysis in order to make inferences and construct interpretations from the study of tales that encourage discussion and reflection about the bullying theme. In this work were selected the following stories: Cinderella 1812) and a One-eye, Two-eyes, Three-eyes (1812) of Grimm Brothers; John-Slapstick (1837), The Storks (1838), and The Ugly Duckling (1844) of Andersen, to make possible a more explicit interface between literature and the bullying theme, providing fertile material for moments of debate. Was taken as the theoretical reference studies of Eco (2003), Jouve (2002), Zilberman (2003, 2004), Lajolo (2001), Rabbit (2008), Bettelheim (2007), Amarilha (2004), Held (1980), Beaudoin and Taylor (2006), Fante and Stone (2008), Middelton-Moz and Zawadski (2007), Olweus (2006), Jares (2002, 2006), Beane (2010), La Taille (2006, 2009) and Piaget (1994). The analysis demonstrated that the characteristics inherent in the literature allow the realization of readings in which the bullying theme can be discussed among students, to contribute positively in the education of children and young people and reflect about violence. This is possible way, especially because of the involvement promoted by the reading of literary texts, allowing that students see, in fiction, possibilities of change

Size variation in the adult population of the grapsid crab Aratus pisonii (H. Milne-Edwards, 1837) was studied by comparing median values obtained from six different populations from nearby mangrove areas. The mangrove structure at those sites was also examined and related to size differences among populations. Disregarding sex, crab size is apparently related to the mangrove structure. Smallest and largest crab sizes were recorded at the sites where tree density and tree diameter were minimum and maximum, respectively. Estimates of size at the onset of maturity, considering the size of the smallest ovigerous female, followed the same trend. These results support the hypothesis that average crab size and size at the onset of maturity can be associated to mangrove productivity.

This study describes the male reproductive cycle of Sibynomorphus mikanii from southeastern Brazil considering macroscopic and microscopic variables. Spermatogenesis occurs during spring-summer (September-December) and spermiogenesis or maturation occurs in summer (December-February). The length and width of the kidney, the tubular diameter, and the epithelium height of the sexual segment of the kidney (SSK) are larger in summer-autumn (December-May). Histochemical reaction of the SSK [periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) and bromophenol blue (BB)] shows stronger results during summer-autumn, indicating an increase in the secretory activity of the granules. Testicular regression is observed in autumn and early winter (March-June) when a peak in the width of the ductus deferens occurs. The distal ductus deferens as well as the ampulla ductus deferentis exhibit secretory activities with positive reaction for PAS and BB. These results suggest that this secretion may nourish the spermatozoa while they are being stored in the ductus deferens. The increase in the Leydig cell nuclear diameter in association with SSK hypertrophy and the presence of sperm in the female indicate that the mating season occurs in autumn when testes begin to decrease their activity. The peak activity of Leydig cells and SSK exhibits an associated pattern with the mating season. However, spermatogenesis is dissociated of the copulation characterizing a complex reproductive cycle. At the individual level, S. mikanii males present a continuous cyclical reproductive pattern in the testes and kidneys (SSK), whereas at the populational level the reproductive pattern may be classified as seasonal semisynchronous. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

The turtle Trachemys scripta elegans popularly known as American tiger water are native regions winged Florida and Mississippi, in the United States. We used twenty (20) turtles (Trachemys scripta elegans), adult males and females, which were euthanized under Resolution 714 of June 20, 2002 the Federal Council of Veterinary Medicine (CFMV). After euthanasia were identified aortas right and left to the injection of Neoprene latex 450, stained with specific pigment. To obtain the vinyl mold aorta was injected through the right and left vinyl acetate, followed by corrosion in sulfuric acid. It was observed that the pancreas is closely related to the liver, gizzard, gall bladder, and duodenum. His face cranial this distal region of the pylorus, while its caudal along the cranial region of the duodenum. Anatomically, the pancreas is an elongated body structure featuring a lightly lobed. As to the pancreas arterial vasculature is flushed in its transverse plane of two arteries arising from the celiac artery, and each antimere two pancreaticoduodenal artery in the cranial region, close to the pylorus by the pancreaticoduodenal artery flow in the caudal portion along the duodenum.
