Rebelión en Galápagos: la hacienda "Progreso" de Manuel J. Cobos en la isla San Cristóbal, 1879-1904

El presente artículo es una investigación histórica, y una lectura desde el mirador de la teoría de los movimientos sociales, de la rebelión de los trabajadores de la hacienda “Progreso” de la isla San Cristóbal (Chatham) en Galápagos. La hipótesis que guía este trabajo es saber si el sistema socio-económico y de gobierno determinan o no el carácter violento de la acción colectiva. Se trata de un estudio de caso, para lo cual presentamos una aproximación al sistema socio-económico de la hacienda “Progreso” como forma social de producción supeditada al modo de producción capitalista, en el cual se inscribe la rebelión de Chatham. Seguidamente echamos mano del instrumental teórico de los movimientos sociales para elaborar una interpretación y exponer algunas reflexiones acerca de la violencia colectiva.

Ecological niche modeling and geographical distribution of pollinator and plants: A case study of Peponapis fervens (Smith, 1879) (Eucerini: Apidae) and Cucurbita species (Cucurbitaceae)

The bees of the Peponapes genus (Eucerini, Apidae) have a Neotropical distribution with the center of species diversity located in Mexico and are specialized in Cucurbita plants. which have many species of economic importance. such as squashes and pumpkins Peponapis fervens is the only species of the genus known from southern South America The Cucurbita species occurring in the same area as P fervens Include four domesticated species (C ficifolia, C maxima maxima, C moschata and C pepo) and one non-domesticated species (Cucurbita maxima andreana) It was suggested that C. in andreana was the original pollen source to P fervens, and this bee expanded its geographical range due to the domestication of Cucurbita The potential geographical areas of these species were determined and compared using ecological niche modeling that was performed with the computational system openModeller and GARP with best subsets algorithm The climatic variables obtained through modeling were compared using Cluster Analysis Results show that the potential areas of domesticated species practically spread all over South America The potential area of P fervens Includes the areas of C m andreana but reaches a larger area, where the domesticated species of Cucurbita also Occur The Cluster Analysis shows a high climatic similarity between P fervens and C. m. andreana Nevertheless. En rörelse formas : bildandet av Dalarnas mejeriförening 1931-1933

Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga bildandet av Dalarnas mejeriförening med hjälp avfrågeställningar angående hur, varför och av vilka personer föreningen skapades samt hurorganisationen Dalarnas mejeriförening kan tolkas med teorier om sociala rörelser och sociala nätverk. Undersökningen baserar sig på källmaterial från Dalarnas mejeriförening ochKopparbergs läns hushållningssällskap. Resultatet av undersökningen är att Dalarnasmejeriförening kan anses vara en social rörelse som bildades för att kontrollera mejerihanteringen i Dalarna. Dalarnas mejeriförening implementerade en omorganisering ilinje med den kooperationsteoretiska rörelseteorin. Rörelsens organisation var baserad på enregelorienterad tolkning av kooperationsprinciperna och rörelseideologin på envärdeorienterad tolkning av desamma. Rörelsens mobiliseringsstruktur var god på grund av en fördelaktig politisk möjlighetsstruktur och framgångsrika nätverksrelationer både inom rörelsen men också mellan rörelsen och andra jordbruksorganisationer.

De forasteiro a unanimidade: a interventoria de Juracy Magalhães na Bahia (1931-1934)

Esta dissertação tem como foco a política baiana, na primeira metade dos anos 1930. Centrando a análise na figura de Juracy Magalhães, que ocupou a interventoria do estado da Bahia de agosto de 1931 a outubro de 1934, quando foi eleito, de forma indireta, para governador do estado. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é identificar quais estratégias de Juracy Magalhães permitiram que, em um curto espaço de tempo, o tenente cearense assumisse o controle político da Bahia. Ou seja, entender como o militar cearense, considerado um forasteiro na Bahia, consegue se transformar numa das mais importantes lideranças políticas do estado. Enfim, estudaremos o período de 1931 a 1934, que corresponde aos anos em que Juracy Magalhães edificou sua forma de atuação na política baiana.

Análise do comportamento e crescimento do camarão branco Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931) em diferentes substratos inconsolidados

The aim of this study was to test the sediment preference of L. vannamei shrimp. It was observed shrimp visit frequency, swimming and burying behaviour at different sediment compositions for 24h. Juvenile (0.93 ± 0.29g) and sub-adult shrimps (10.0 ± 1.18g) were obtained from the aquaculture station at Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido UFERSA, and held in a plastic tank (water volume 500 L) supplied with aerated water and kept at constant temperature, pH, and salinity. Shrimp was fed by commercial shrimp dry food. The experimental substrates were composed by A: medium sand + thick sand + very thick sand + gravel; B: very fine sand + fine sand; and C: silt + clay. Thus, six different substrate combinations were tested: A, B, C, A+B, A+C, B+C. To test preference, it was used a cylindrical tank (40 l) divided into six differently substrate compartments. A single shrimp was introduced each tank and the frequency at which this shrimp visited each compartment was recorded over a 24h study period. It was tested 54 shrimp (18 sub-adult males, 18 subadult females and 18 juveniles). For each trial, sediment and water were changed to avoid pheromones and residues influence. Shrimp were weighted and sub-adults were divided by sex: males present petasma and females present thelycum. Data were collected on the experimental day at 19:30; 20:30; 00:30; 1:30; 05:30; 06:30; 13:30 and 14:30 h. At each time point, shrimp were observed for 20-min periods, in which we noted down which compartment the shrimp was occupying at 2-min intervals. Thus, for each period we had eleven observations (88 observations per day). For observations at night, it was used dim red light that did not affect shrimp behaviour. At each 20-min period, it was observed visit frequency in each substrate, if shrimp was burred or not or if it was swimming. There was not significant difference between light and dark burry activity for females. Swimming activity was significantly higher at night, mainly at 00:30 and 01:30 h. All L. vannamei shrimp showed preference for sediment B. This animal presents cyclic activity, spends the day light period buried and swims at night
