End-column amperometric detection of 6-mercaptopurine by capillary zone electrophoresis

End-column amperometric detection of 6-mercaptopurine by capillary zone electrophoresis was described with high resolution and speed. The detection conditions were optimized and the electrochemical behavior was observed. Under the optimal conditions: detection potential of 1.2 V ( vs. Ag/AgCl), operating voltage of 15 kV, sample injection of 3 s at 15 kV and 10 mmol/l Na2HPO4 buffer, the detection limit for 6-MP was as low as 1 x 10(-7) mol/L and the linear range was from 5 x 10(-4) to 5 x 10(-6) mol/L with the relative coefficient of 0.995. The RSD of reproducibility for peak current and migration time was 2.5% and 1.2%, respectively. This method was utilized in assay real sample of human mine and bovine serum albumin containing 6-mercaptopurine.

End-column electrochemical detection for aromatic amines with high performance capillary electrophoresis

Electrochemical detection of five species of aromatic amines at a carbon fiber microdisk electrode after separation by capillary electrophoresis is described. Under the optimum conditions, the detection limit for 3,4-dihydroxybenzylamine, N,N-dimethylaniline, p-phenylenediamine, p-aminophenol and aniline sulfate was 0.9, 0.03, 0.075, 1.2 and 0.15 mu M (S/N = 3), respectively. The linear response range was 5-1000, 0.1-500, 0.5-500, 5-500 and 1-200 mu M, respectively The effect of the electrode position and buffer pH on the detection was also studied. This method is very simple, sensitive and stable for the detection of these compounds.

End-column amperometric detection of 5-fluorouracil by capillary zone electrophoresis with a carbon fiber microelectrode

A rapid and sensitive detection method for the determination of 5-fluorouracil(5-FU) in real samples such as human urine and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was described. A carbon fiber microdisk electrode was used to perform end-column amperometric detection in capillary zone electrophoresis. The detection limit was as low as 2.5x10(-7) M and the wider linear range for the concentration was between 5x10(-6) and 1x10(-4) M with a correlation coefficient of 0.995.

Separation of promethazine and thioridazine using capillary electrophoresis with end-column amperometric detection

Promethazine and thioridazine were separated and detected by capillary electrophoresis with end-column amperometric detection. The influence of pH Value on oxidation potential, the peak current and the resolution were studied and the following conditions was selected: 0.03 M Na2HPO4 and 0.015 M citric acid at pH 3.0, detection potential at 1.10 V. The detection limits of these two substances were in the range of 10(-8) mol/l. The linear range spanned two to three orders of magnitude. Determination of sulfadiazine and sulfamethoxazole by capillary electrophoresis with end-column electrochemical detection

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) with end-column electrochemical detection (EC) of sulfadiazine (SDZ) and sulfamethoxazole (SMZ) is described. Under the optimum conditions, SDZ and SMZ were separated satisfactorily, and a highly sensitive and stable response was obtained at a potential of 1.1 V versus Ag/AgCl. Optimized end-column detection provides detection limits as low as 0.1 mu M for both compounds, which corresponds to 0.024 and 0.021 fmol with peak efficiencies of 394000 and 335000 theoretical plates for SDZ arid SMZ, respectively. The calibration graph was linear over three orders of magnitude. The relative standard deviations (n = 12) of peak currents and migration times were 2.3 and 2.7%, and 0.8 and 1.3%, respectively, for the two compounds. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of tablets and human urine samples with satisfactory results.

ARYLIDENE COPOLYETHER SULFONES .2. SYNTHESIS END CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME NEW COPOLYETHER SULFONES CONTAINING DIBENZYLIDENE CYCLOHEXANONE MOIETIES

New copolyether sulfones containing 2,6-bis(p-oxo-benzylidene)cyclohexanone and 2,6-bis(o,p-dioxo-benzylidene)cyclohexanone moieties were prepared in the conventional literature manner by condensing the dipotassium salts of 2,6-bis(p-hydroxybenzylidene)cyclohexanone (III), 2,6-bis(o,p-dihydroxybenzylidene)-cyclohexanone (V), and 2,2-bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)propane (Bisphenol A, VII) with 4,4'-dichlorodiphenyl sulfone (VI), or by condensing the dipotassium salts of III and VII with a new benzylidene cyclohexanone sulfone macromer (X). Finally, the polycondensation reaction of sulfonyl bis(p-benzaldehydeoxo-p-phenylene) (IX) with cyclohexanone leads to an unsaturated copolymer (XVI). The resulting copolyether sulfones were confirmed by IR, H-1-NMR, viscometry, elemental analysis, thermooptical (TOA), x-ray, and thermogravimetric (TGA) measurements.

Su objetivo es paliar la laguna que existe en España en lo que respecta al manejo de los desfibriladores automáticos implantables (DAI) en las fases finales de la vida. Exercise training can induce cardiac autophagy at end-stage chronic conditions: Insights from a graft-versus-host-disease mouse model

Chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) is a frequent cause of morbimortality after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), and severely compromises patients' physical capacity. Despite the aggressive nature of the disease, aerobic exercise training can positively impact survival as well as clinical and functional parameters. We analyzed potential mechanisms underlying the recently reported cardiac function improvement in an exercise-trained cGVHD murine model receiving lethal total body irradiation and immunosuppressant treatment (Fiuza-Luces et al., 2013. Med Sci Sports Exerc 45, 1703-1711). We hypothesized that a cellular quality-control mechanism that is receiving growing attention in biomedicine, autophagy, was involved in such improvement. Our results suggest that exercise training elicits a positive autophagic adaptation in the myocardium that may help preserve cardiac function even at the end-stage of a devastating disease like cGVHD. These preliminary findings might provide new insights into the cardiac exercise benefits in chronic/debilitating conditions.

Efficient End-Host Architecture for High Performance Communication Using User-level Sandboxing

Current low-level networking abstractions on modern operating systems are commonly implemented in the kernel to provide sufficient performance for general purpose applications. However, it is desirable for high performance applications to have more control over the networking subsystem to support optimizations for their specific needs. One approach is to allow networking services to be implemented at user-level. Unfortunately, this typically incurs costs due to scheduling overheads and unnecessary data copying via the kernel. In this paper, we describe a method to implement efficient application-specific network service extensions at user-level, that removes the cost of scheduling and provides protected access to lower-level system abstractions. We present a networking implementation that, with minor modifications to the Linux kernel, passes data between "sandboxed" extensions and the Ethernet device without copying or processing in the kernel. Using this mechanism, we put a customizable networking stack into a user-level sandbox and show how it can be used to efficiently process and forward data via proxies, or intermediate hosts, in the communication path of high performance data streams. Unlike other user-level networking implementations, our method makes no special hardware requirements to avoid unnecessary data copies. Results show that we achieve a substantial increase in throughput over comparable user-space methods using our networking stack implementation.
