This paper studies the development of a real-time stereovision system to track multiple infrared markers attached to a surgical instrument. Multiple stages of pipeline in field-programmable gate array (FPGA) are developed to recognize the targets in both left and right image planes and to give each target a unique label. The pipeline architecture includes a smoothing filter, an adaptive threshold module, a connected component labeling operation, and a centroid extraction process. A parallel distortion correction method is proposed and implemented in a dual-core DSP. A suitable kinematic model is established for the moving targets, and a novel set of parallel and interactive computation mechanisms is proposed to position and track the targets, which are carried out by a cross-computation method in a dual-core DSP. The proposed tracking system can track the 3-D coordinate, velocity, and acceleration of four infrared markers with a delay of 9.18 ms. Furthermore, it is capable of tracking a maximum of 110 infrared markers without frame dropping at a frame rate of 60 f/s. The accuracy of the proposed system can reach the scale of 0.37 mm RMS along the x- and y-directions and 0.45 mm RMS along the depth direction (the depth is from 0.8 to 0.45 m). The performance of the proposed system can meet the requirements of applications such as surgical navigation, which needs high real time and accuracy capability.

In this Article, we demonstrate an effective hydrothermal route for the synthesis of multiple PDDA-protected (PDDA = poly(diallyl dimethylammonium) chloride) noble-metal (including silver, platinum, palladium, and gold) nanostructures in the absence of any seeds and surfactants, in which PDDA, an ordinary and water-soluble polyelectrolyte, acts as both a reducing and a stabilizing agent. Under optimal experimental conditions, Ag nanocubes, Pt and Pd nanopolyhedrons, and Au nanoplates can be obtained, which were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. More importantly, the nanostrucfures synthesized show potential applications in surface-enhanced Raman scattering and electrocatalysis, in which Ag nanocubes and Pt nanopolyhedrons were chosen as the examples, respectively.

Berlin green FeFe(CN)(6) microcubic crystals have been successfully prepared by a simple hydrothermal process between K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] with Na2S2O3 aqueous solution, free of any surfactant or template. The experimental results clearly show that the molar ratio of K-3[Fe(CN)(6)] to Na2S2O3 and their concentrations are the dominant processing factors in controlling the size, morphology, and composition of the resulting products.

The melt flow behaviour of LDPE/HDPE blends with various compositions have been determined by melt flow index (MFI) measurement. The effects of stabilizers, photo-sensitizers, multiple extrusions and short-term photooxidation have been studied. The results show that there is no marked thermal stability difference between homopolymers and blends without multiple extrusions, no matter whether stabilizers or photo-sensitizers are added. Multiple extrusions or photo-sensitizers reduce their thermal stability, shown by the decrease in MFI. The decrease in MFI of photooxidized samples does not imply serious structural change and shows that the active species formed during photooxidation induce a crosslinking reaction in the melt indexer. Multiple extrusions increase the number of active species formed in LDPE or blends and lead to an obvious decrease in MFI. It is suggested that LDPE and LDPE-rich blends after short-term photooxidation can be characterized by MFI measurement. In contrast, HDPE cannot be characterized by this method due to its linear structure.

The rugged surface topography determined the seismic data acquisition construction conditions and the seismic wave explosive and receiver quality in Qaidam Basin. This dissertation systematically researched the seismic acquisition, imaging process and the attribute analysis techniques of complicated oil and gas reservoir. The main research achievements and cognitions are as follows: 1. Through the stimulation effects research and analysis from the aspect of lithologic water-containing differences, it’s specific that stable hydrous sand layer can effectively enhance the stimulation effects combined with the corresponding field tests. The seismic data S/N ratio has been improved due to the combination explosive stimulation. Through the fold number and maximum offset analyses of target horizon, the complicated geometry has been optimized and the S/N ratio of seismic data has been improved, which made an important basis for improvement of 3D seismic data. 2. It has been proved that the first arrival refraction static correction method under the model constraint of fine surface survey is suitable to the Qaidam Basin of western areas by the real seismic data processing. Although the refraction horizon of near surface has some changes in a certain extent, it’s steady basically. The refraction horizon can be continuously traced in sections, so it’s qualified for the refraction static correction method on the whole. 3. The research is based on the curved-ray pre-stack time migration techniques of rough topography, and improved the imaging precision of complex areas. This techniques adopted the constant and variable velocity scanning mode and enhanced the velocity analysis precision. The 3D pre-stack time migration techniques reasonably solved the imaging and velocity multiple solutions problems of steep-dip faults and the intersections of horizontal layers. What’s more, fine velocity analysis and mute are very important to enhance the imaging precision of the seismic data in complicated Wunan areas. 4. The 3D seismic data edge-preserving processing methods have been realized due to the image process techniques. Because this method uses the large range filter, it can attenuate the noise maximally. The faults, break points, lithologic pinchout points and lithologic body of small scale such as river will not be influenced by blur because of the edge-preserving characterization of the method which is really an effective assistant technique of low S/N ratio seismic data attribute analysis. 5. The use of spectral decomposition technique can effectively identify the reservoirs. The special geology body which will not be identified (or without obvious characters) in the seismic profile may be found through the details changes of different frequencies in the amplitude profiles.

Offshore seismic exploration is full of high investment and risk. And there are many problems, such as multiple. The technology of high resolution and high S/N ratio on marine seismic data processing is becoming an important project. In this paper, the technology of multi-scale decomposition on both prestack and poststack seismic data based on wavelet and Hilbert-Huang transform and the theory of phase deconvolution is proposed by analysis of marine seismic exploration, investigation and study of literatures, and integration of current mainstream and emerging technology. Related algorithms are studied. The Pyramid algorithm of decomposition and reconstruction had been given by the Mallat algorithm of discrete wavelet transform In this paper, it is introduced into seismic data processing, the validity is shown by test with field data. The main idea of Hilbert-Huang transform is the empirical mode decomposition with which any complicated data set can be decomposed into a finite and often small number of intrinsic mode functions that admit well-behaved Hilbert transform. After the decomposition, a analytical signal is constructed by Hilbert transform, from which the instantaneous frequency and amplitude can be obtained. And then, Hilbert spectrum. This decomposition method is adaptive and highly efficient. Since the decomposition is based on the local characteristics of the time scale of data, it is applicable to nonlinear and non-stationary processes. The phenomenons of fitting overshoot and undershoot and end swings are analyzed in Hilbert-Huang transform. And these phenomenons are eliminated by effective method which is studied in the paper. The technology of multi-scale decomposition on both prestack and poststack seismic data can realize the amplitude preserved processing, enhance the seismic data resolution greatly, and overcome the problem that different frequency components can not restore amplitude properly uniformly in the conventional method. The method of phase deconvolution, which has overcome the minimum phase limitation in traditional deconvolution, approached the base fact well that the seismic wavelet is phase mixed in practical application. And a more reliable result will be given by this method. In the applied research, the high resolution relative amplitude preserved processing result has been obtained by careful analysis and research with the application of the methods mentioned above in seismic data processing in four different target areas of China Sea. Finally, a set of processing flow and method system was formed in the paper, which has been carried on in the application in the actual production process and has made the good progress and the huge economic benefit.

Scale matching method means adjusting information with different scale to the same level. This thesis focuses on scale unification of information with different frequency bandwidth. Well-seismic cooperate inversion is an important component of reservoir geophysics; multiple prediction & subtraction is a development of multiple attenuation in recent years. The common ground of these two methods is that they both related to different frequency bandwidth unification. Well log、cross-hole seismic、VSP、3D seismic and geological information have different spatial resolution, we can decrease multi-solution of reservoir inversion and enhance the vertical and lateral resolution of the geological object by integrate those information together; Compare the predicted multiple generated by SRME with the real multiple, we find the predicted multiple convolutes at least one wavelet more, which brings frequency bandwidth difference between them. So the subtraction method also relates to multi-scale information unification. This thesis gives a method of well constrained seismic high resolution processing basing on auto gain control modulation. It uses base function method which utilizes original well-seismic match result as initial condition and processed seismic trace as initial model to extrapolate the high frequency information of the well logs to the seismic profiles. In this way we can broaden the bandwidth of the seismic and make the high frequency gain geological meaning. In this thesis we introduce the revised base function method to adaptive subtraction and verify the validity of the method using models. Key words: high frequency reconstruction, scale matching, base function, multiple, SRME prediction & subtraction

This paper presents a model for the general flow in the neocortex. The basic process, called "sequence-seeking," is a search for a sequence of mappings or transformations, linking source and target representations. The search is bi-directional, "bottom-up" as well as "top-down," and it explores in parallel a large numbe rof alternative sequences. This operation is implemented in a structure termed "counter streams," in which multiple sequences are explored along two separate, complementary pathways which seeking to meet. The first part of the paper discusses the general sequence-seeking scheme and a number of related processes, such as the learning of successful sequences, context effects, and the use of "express lines" and partial matches. The second part discusses biological implications of the model in terms of connections within and between cortical areas. The model is compared with existing data, and a number of new predictions are proposed.

This report describes Processor Coupling, a mechanism for controlling multiple ALUs on a single integrated circuit to exploit both instruction-level and inter-thread parallelism. A compiler statically schedules individual threads to discover available intra-thread instruction-level parallelism. The runtime scheduling mechanism interleaves threads, exploiting inter-thread parallelism to maintain high ALU utilization. ALUs are assigned to threads on a cycle byscycle basis, and several threads can be active concurrently. Simulation results show that Processor Coupling performs well both on single threaded and multi-threaded applications. The experiments address the effects of memory latencies, function unit latencies, and communication bandwidth between function units.

This dissertation presents a model of the knowledge a person has about the spatial structure of a large-scale environment: the "cognitive map". The functions of the cognitive map are to assimilate new information about the environment, to represent the current position, and to answer route-finding and relative-position problems. This model (called the TOUR model) analyzes the cognitive map in terms of symbolic descriptions of the environment and operations on those descriptions. Knowledge about a particular environment is represented in terms of route descriptions, a topological network of paths and places, multiple frames of reference for relative positions, dividing boundaries, and a structure of containing regions. The current position is described by the "You Are Here" pointer, which acts as a working memory and a focus of attention. Operations on the cognitive map are performed by inference rules which act to transfer information among different descriptions and the "You Are Here" pointer. The TOUR model shows how the particular descriptions chosen to represent spatial knowledge support assimilation of new information from local observations into the cognitive map, and how the cognitive map solves route-finding and relative-position problems. A central theme of this research is that the states of partial knowledge supported by a representation are responsible for its ability to function with limited information of computational resources. The representations in the TOUR model provide a rich collection of states of partial knowledge, and therefore exhibit flexible, "common-sense" behavior.
