A linear Lorentz connection has always two fundamental derived characteristics: curvature and torsion. The latter is assumed to vanish in general relativity. Three gravitational models involving non-vanishing torsion are examined: teleparallel gravity, Einstein-Cartan, and new general relativity. Their dependability is critically examined. Although a final answer can only be given by experience, it is argued that teleparallel gravity provides the most consistent approach.

In this paper we present the torsion influence in a braneworld scenario, developing the bulk metric Taylor expansion around the brane. This generalization is presented in order to better probe braneworld properties in a Riemann-Cartan framework, and it is also shown how the factors involving contorsion change the effective Einstein equation on the brane, the effective cosmological constant, and their consequence in a Taylor expansion of the bulk metric around the brane. Riemann surfaces, cohomology and homology groups, Cartan's spinors and triality, octonionic projective geometry, are all well supported by Complex Structures [1], [2], [3], [4]. Furthermore, in Theoretical Physics, mainly in General Relativity, Supersymmetry and Particle Physics, Complex Theory Plays a Key Role [5], [6], [7], [8]. In this context it is expected that generalizations of concepts and main results from the Classical Complex Theory, like conformal and quasiconformal mappings [9], [10] in both quaternionic and octonionic algebra, may be useful for other fields of research, as for graphical computing enviromment [11]. In this Note, following recent works by the autors [12], [13], the Cauchy Theorem will be extended for Octonions in an analogous way that it has recentely been made for quaternions [14]. Finally, will be given an octonionic treatment of the wave equation, which means a wave produced by a hyper-string with initial conditions similar to the one-dimensional case.

We study implicit ODEs, cubic in derivative, with infinitesimal symmetry at singular points. Cartan showed that even at regular points the existence of nontrivial symmetry imposes restrictions on the ODE. Namely, this algebra has the maximal possible dimension 3 iff the web of solutions is flat. For cubic ODEs with flat 3-web of solutions we establish sufficient conditions for the existence of nontrivial symmetries at singular points and show that under natural assumptions such a symmetry is semi-simple, i.e. is a scaling is some coordinates. We use this symmetry to find first integrals of the ODE.

Implicit ODE, cubic in derivative, generically has no infinitesimal symmetries even at regular points with distinct roots. Cartan showed that at regular points, ODEs with hexagonal 3-web of solutions have symmetry algebras of the maximal possible dimension 3. At singular points such a web can lose all its symmetries. In this paper we study hexagonal 3-webs having at least one infinitesimal symmetry at singular points. In particular, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence of non-trivial symmetries and show that under natural assumptions such a symmetry is semi-simple, i.e. is a scaling in some coordinates. Using the obtained results, we provide a complete classification of hexagonal singular 3-web germs in the complex plane, satisfying the following two conditions: 1) the Chern connection form is holomorphic at the singular point, 2) the web admits at least one infinitesimal symmetry at this point. As a by-product, a classification of hexagonal weighted homogeneous 3-webs is obtained.

In this work evaluated the content of vitamin C and total carotenoid in tomatoes fresh and dehydrated for conserve, with posterior immersion in sauce, verifying its sensorial acceptability. Dehydration was performed in dryer with airflow at 70 °C to obtain a product with final moisture of 45%. Determinations were carried out ascorbic acid, soluble solids, acidity, sugars and carotenoid before and after the dehydration process. The dehydrated tomatoes had been immersed in three types of sauces (pepper sauce, oregano with parrot leaves sauce and garlic sauce) per 25 days. After this period, the dry tomatoes in conserve had been submitted to the sensorial analysis in the pate form, applying themselves preference test. The results had been showed that retention of vitamin C and total carotenoid in the dehydrated product showed retention of 14.0% and 44.3%, respectively, in tomatoes after the dehydration process. Among the formulation of canned t
