Some remarks on how Cultural History has been used in Mathematics Education are the main focus of this paper. It tries to discuss, basically, three works (In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote; O crime do restaurante chinês, by Boris Fausto; and Os protagonistas anônimos da História, de Ronaldo Vainfas) in order to present some perspectivas about narratives and textual elaboration in the field of Historiography.

Registrar oralidades, analisar narrativas: sobre pressupostos da História Oral em Educação Matemática

The discussion about some features of the general framework which allows the use of Oral History in Mathematics Education is the main theme of this paper. Also the conception about what Oral History is, its theoretical baskgrounds, some of its purposes and the range of its results to Math Education research community are considered, as well the link between such method and the narratives, focusing what narratives are and how narratives can be analysed. A brief description of specific themes and researches developed in such approach, in Brazil, ends this article.

Televisão Digital: novos meios, novas narrativas

Grandes mudanças de ordem tecnológica e social colaboraram para a transformação na forma de comunicação do homem ao longo da história, que compartilha informações e transforma conceitos através de novos meios e novas narrativas, construindo e reconstruindo informações. O compartilhamento desses novos conteúdos vem colaborar na divulgação de diversidades culturais e regionais de todo o país fazendo jus a um dos objetivos da televisão digital que é a democratização da informação e do conhecimento.

Variáveis antropométricas e hemodinâmicas em relação a diferentes níveis e categorias de atividade física

This study aimed to investigate the relation between physical activity levels (PAL) of hypertensive patients, seeing different do- mains, and, to compare anthropometric variables and blood pressure (BP). The survey was conducted with 192 patients, mean age 63 ± 11 years. The anthropometric variables were body weight, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC). PAL was estimated using Baecke ́s questionnaire and categorized in four domains (OPA = occupational; leisure time = LTPA; locomotion = LPA and Total PA). Student t test unpaired was applied for comparisons between active and insufficiently active. Differences between active and sedentary in relation to anthropometry and resting blood pressure were observed for the LTPA, LPA and Total PA and significant negative correlations were observed between LPA and Total PA with systolic BP (p<0,05). Conclusion: the LPA and LTPA were associated with resting BP in hypertensive. No differences in BMI and WC among physically active and insuffi- ciently active were found.

Ocorrência de pesquisas narrativas sobre formação de professores de Ciências e Matemática no Brasil, de 2000 a 2010

In this article, we present results that express the occurrence of narratives researches in the form of theses and dissertations in postgraduate programs in Brazil, from 2000 to 2010 in the Teaching of Science and Mathematics area. We consulted the Student Registration, on the site of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, through the keywords: narrative research, narrative inquiry and teacher training. Through reading the abstracts, we identified the area of knowledge, the IES and the supervisor. Of the 162 (one hundred, sixty two) academic productions identified, 31 (thirty-one) are in the area of Science and Mathematics teaching. The data obtained point to the existence of groups of studies and research training in the country engaged in narrative research in Mathematics and Science Teaching, in line with teacher training.

Movimentos sociais, ecologia digital, mídias radicais e as narrativas anticapitalistas na esfera pública alternativa global

This article seeks to contribute to the debate on the importance of cultural collective producers of anti-capitalist content, ownership of digital ecology by subaltern segments, the creation of the opposition media to exclusionary globalization and the articulation of alternative and radical public sphere for the recent demonstrations policies in planetary scale. Data were collected in the first half of 2013, on a course completion project in vehicles with citizen journalism characteristics ["Portal Fórum", "Outras Palavras" and "Observatório da Imprensa"]. Partial these mapping results indicate that these manifestations inherited anti-capitalist demands of previous decades, and amplified in [by digitally pathways] in political demonstrations that swept those abrasive months in major cities worldwide.

This work by questioning the methodology and curriculum standardization and the separation between theory and practice, both of the top training courses for educators and schools in general, proposes to investigate, through action research, writing and analysis of narratives drawn from the author's experiences as a volunteer educator for a Brazilian educational project inspired by the experience of the Portugal's Escola da Ponte, the (trans)formation of educators in educational praxis, ie, the training that is not represented in formatting. Enfermagem cuidando de paciente adulto e família no processo de morte em sala de emergência

The purpose of the study was to understand the experience of nursing professionals on the care provided to adult patients and relatives who experience the dying process in an emergency room. Statements of 12 nursing professionals, being 8 technicians and 4 registered nurses of the emergency room of a high-complexity university hospital were analyzed. Data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews and evaluated according to Bardin’s content analysis. As a result, the theme entitled the relative’s mourning process emerged with two categories: alterity as an opening and suffering as a limit. when subjectivity, which was revealed under the principle of alterity, permeated the subjects’ actions, the nursing practices were targeted at the patients and their relative’s needs, but suffering as a limit imposed distancing by the professionals during care provision, even when it was perceived as necessary.
