The superspace approach provides a manifestly supersymmetric formulation of supersymmetric theories. For N= 1 supersymmetry one can use either constrained or unconstrained superfields for such a formulation. Only the unconstrained formulation is suitable for quantum calculations. Until now, all interacting N>1 theories have been written using constrained superfields. No solutions of the nonlinear constraint equations were known.
In this work, we first review the superspace approach and its relation to conventional component methods. The difference between constrained and unconstrained formulations is explained, and the origin of the nonlinear constraints in supersymmetric gauge theories is discussed. It is then shown that these nonlinear constraint equations can be solved by transforming them into linear equations. The method is shown to work for N=1 Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions.
N=2 Yang-Mills theory is formulated in constrained form in six-dimensional superspace, which can be dimensionally reduced to four-dimensional N=2 extended superspace. We construct a superfield calculus for six-dimensional superspace, and show that known matter multiplets can be described very simply. Our method for solving constraints is then applied to the constrained N=2 Yang-Mills theory, and we obtain an explicit solution in terms of an unconstrained superfield. The solution of the constraints can easily be expanded in powers of the unconstrained superfield, and a similar expansion of the action is also given. A background-field expansion is provided for any gauge theory in which the constraints can be solved by our methods. Some implications of this for superspace gauge theories are briefly discussed.

Apart from a couple of early papers in the 1600s, the development of freshwater biology as a science in Mexico began in the last century. Taxonomic studies were made especially on algae, aquatic insects, crustaceans, annelid worms and aquatic plants. The great impetus acquired by limnology in Europe and America in the first half of the 20th Century stimulated foreign researchers to come and work in Mexico. During this period the Instituto de Biologia, belonging to the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, was created in 1930. The Institute had a section of Hydrobiology that contributed to the limnological characterization of Mexican lakes and ponds. In 1962, the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Biologico-Pesqueras was created to bring together the work of several institutes working on the native ichthyofauna, the restocking of reservoirs, and aquaculture.

[ES]El objetivo principal de este trabajo es el diseño y desarrollo de un sistema para la validación de las metodologas propuestas en el borrador de recomendación P.STMWeb [1] “Metodologa para la evaluación subjetiva de la calidad percibida en la navegación web”. Como resultado de la validación realizada con el sistema han sido aprobadas las recomendaciones G.1031 [5] “Factores del QoE en web browsing y P.1501 [6] “Metodologa de prueba subjetiva para web browsing de la ITU-T. El sistema propuesto se ha diseñado en base a las especificaciones marcadas en el borrador de la recomendación en vías de estandarización [P.STMWeb].Estas especificaciones han servido de base para el diseño e implementación de un sistema que permite una navegación web interactiva, con control y actualización de páginas web en base a variaciones de parámetros de red, como el retardo en un entorno controlado. Así mismo siguiendo la metodologa establecida en el borrador de recomendación anteriormente mencionado se ha diseñado y desarrollado un sistema de encuestas para evaluar de forma subjetiva la calidad experimentada por los usuarios (QoE) en la navegación web. Para el diseño del sistema de encuestas, se analizaron y utilizaron como especificaciones los diferentes factores que se contemplan en el borrador de recomendación G.QoE-Web [2] “Factores relevantes y casos de uso para la QoE Web” de la ITU-T. En base al diseño realizado, se ha desarrollado un sistema que permite analizar la calidad experimentada por los usuarios en la navegación Web.

This report to the Thames Water Authority and Central Water Planning Unit is on research carried out in conjunction with the Stage 1 Group Pumping Test of five boreholes in the upper Lambourn Group for a period of three months in September, October and November 1975. The aim of the study was to assess the ecological effects of the pumpin g of five bore-holes in the upper Lambourn. That is, to determine how the seasonal sequence of ecological events in the river differed from what would hav e occurred had no pumping taken place. Since this 'experiment' has no control it is not possible to make a direct assessment. Nevertheless, by careful monitoring of ecological events before, during and after the pumping it is possible to document changes in th e river and by reference to the data already available for the Rive r Lambourn, normal seasonal changes in the flora and fauna can be separated from changes which may be attributable to the pumping and subsequent events.

Actinomycetes are a group of micro-organisms which lie, in classification, half-way between the fungi and the bacteria. They may be isolated from the plating of leaf washings, water samples and mud dilutions on to nutrient agar (with incorporated actidione to eliminate fungi). The predominant genus varied with the source of the sample. An attempt was also made to isolate the phages of some Actinomycetes. A search was made in the typical environments of the host, for the virus. In this way actinophage were also isolated; and shown to be capable of being transmitted from one host strain to another host strain within 1 sp or from one host to another within 1 genus; i.e. polyvalent.

In field biology, cost efficiency is an essential element of experimental design, with ramifications extending well beyond the basic monetary considerations associated with labour and equipment acquisition. Current economic constraints often require scientists to undertake many technical, secretarial and managerial tasks in addition to those associated with data collection, analysis, interpretation and publication. Because the time spent to process material in the laboratory can rarely be shortened without compromising the integrity of the results, it is imperative that field experiments be well-organised, addressing as many aspects of the problem as possible during the same sampling excursion. The sampling strategy employed should provide a maximum of good field data with a minimum cost of time and effort.

Absorption spectrum from 400 to 2000 run and upconversion fluorescence spectra under 940 nm pumping of YAG single crystal codoped with 5 at.% Yb3+ and 4 at.% Tm3+ were studied at room temperature. The blue upconversion emission centered at 483 nm corresponds to the transition (1)G(4) -> H-3(6), the emission band around 646 nm corresponds to the transition (1)G(4) -> F-3(4) of Tm3+. Energy transfer from Yb3+ to Tm3+ is mainly nonradiative and the transfer efficiency was experimentally assessed. The line strengths, transition probabilities and radiative lifetimes of (1)G(4) level were calculated by using Judd-Ofelt theory. Gain coefficient calculated from spectra shows that the upconversion corresponding with transitions (1)G(4) -> H-3(6) in YAG doped with Yb3+ and Tm3+ is potentially useful for blue light Output.
